Story of Worthless Son

Baba

"Tava path dhare, tava na'm kare, toma'r pa'nei cale thaki..." (P.S. 2180)

Purport:

Baba, by Your grace I am treading on Your path by singing Your name and moving towards You. You are my Goal.

By Your grace I am moving closer and closer towards You-- to reach You. Baba, except You, in this universe who else is mine-- no one. Because of this I am always calling You for Your shelter.

O' Lord, in this decorated universe of Yours, You have provided me a special place according to Your liking. You have bestowed everything; and, You do not desire anything from anyone. Just You go on pouring Your divine grace eternally.

The demerits such as lethargy only come from my side. Plus all kinds of lame excuses I give in self-justification. Hence all the lacuna belong to me; whereas, You Yourself are ever-gracious.

Baba, You have situated my mind in the corner of Your vast cosmic mind. And from that corner it receives Your divine vibration.

With the attraction and resonance of Your divine vibration, the lotus of the love, which has blossomed in my heart, is looking towards You with deep yearning.

Baba, singing Your Name, I am moving on Your path. For me, Your grace is everything...

== STORY OF WORTHLESS SON ==

Namaskar,
In late 2009, AM Publications released a new book. It is a collection of essays about Baba's contributions written by members of the academic community. Perhaps by now you have seen it.

However, for any Ananda Margii, reading the cover itself is enough to know that there are serious issues with this publication.

This is an important topic for it reflects how Baba, the Guru of Ananda Marga, is presented to the general public. As His disciples, it is exclusively our duty to safeguard His excellence.

Anyone with basic devotion will understand the proper way to address Baba on the public platform, let us see what was done in this particular book. Any potential errors made should not be repeated in the future - neither in this publication nor any other. That is the key point at hand.

STORY OF WORTHLESS SON

Before discussing the details of the aforementioned book, here is one related story.

There was a village family in Sheohar (Shivahar) district of Bihar and the father - though illiterate himself - had a great desire that his son should be properly educated. The father toiled in the fields night and day in order to send his son to the finest schools. The father sacrificed much and used 100% of his limited financial means to send his son to college. After showering his paternal affection and giving all the family funds to his son's study for years and years, his son completed his schooling and became a professor.

All along, to ensure his son would have a great opportunity in life, the father labored hard in the hot sun day after day. But to him, it was all worth it to see his son succeed.

On the occasion of one festival, the father made the big excursion and traveled from his remote village to visit his son, the professor, at college. The father was extremely proud and told all his friends and neighbors about the upcoming trip.

The momentous day arrived and his father arrived smiling with gifts in hand for his son. His best clothes and jubilant expression however could not hide his weathered features from his many years of working outside in the fields.

The son greeted his father at the station and brought him to the college to show him around. As it was a festival day, the son was not thinking that any of his colleagues would be there.

Father and son walked and talked from building to building and the father was very impressed by what he saw. It was all that he expected and much, much more. But mostly, he was so pleased to be with his son.

After much walking, they took a seat in the shade. They sat and talked for some time when from behind them a man approached. When they could hear the footsteps directly behind them, the son turned around and much to his surprise saw that it was the chairman from his department. The son was shocked and his whole expression changed.

Immediately he stood up to greet his senior colleague. He took on a serious demeanor and spoke eye to eye with the chairman. The father sat there quietly watching, waiting to be introduced. But the two kept talking.

At one point, in the conversation, the chairman motioned inquisitively towards the father, and the proud father was ready to stand up and meet the chairman. But the son just brushed his hand in a rather brusque manner and attempted to redirect the conversation.

But this did not resolve the situation, he could sense the the department chairman was still curious as to who this person was.

So the the son said, "Yaha mera' servant hai." (Yaha means "this", mera' means "my", servant means servant, and hai means "is".)

The chairman nodded - paid no attention to the father - and continued his dialog with the son.

The father only knew Hindi - not a single word of English - so the father only understood the Hindi words: "Yaha mera' _______ hai", meaning, "This is my _______".

But he heard the sound "servant" and kept it in his memory.

A few minutes later, the chairman and the son finished their conversation and the chairman walked off without even acknowledging the father. The son looked visibly affected - he had not expected to see any colleagues at the college on this festival day. This disappointment was not lost on his father.

The rest of their visit went uneventfully - though the father felt perplexed by his son's behavior. The father returned back to his village with one burning question in mind. What did the English word "servant" mean.

He immediately asked one of the literary people in his village what the English word "servant" meant. When the father got the answer, he immediately understood the situation.

The father felt saddened that his son was so ashamed of him.

Apparently during his years of study, the son had created his own history and background and told many stories of how he was born into a literate, well-to-do family to all his colleagues. He thought this would boost his prestige.

So when he and his illiterate and simple father unexpectedly met up with the chairman of the department, the son introduced his father as his servant.

That occasion turned out to be one of the last times the father and son ever spoke. The arrogant son had not an iota of gratitude for the father's sacrifice of putting him through school. The son wanted to disassociate himself from his village roots entirely. In turn, the father was despondent that he had lost his son - the very person to whom he had given so much. He had given everything for the growth of his son and now his son was essentially disowning him. The father lived out his days with a heavy heart.

This very tragic story is highly related with the recently published book noted above.

SHRII SHRII A'NANDAMU'RTIJII

As we know, when speaking about our Sadguru Baba, as His disciples we are always to use words that reflect only the highest respect.

Baba says, "The one formless, beginningless and infinite Parama Brahma (Supreme Consciousness) is the only entity to be attained by living beings – That alone is Jagat Guru (the Supreme preceptor), That alone has revealed Brahmavidya'
(intuitional science) to us through the medium of the name and form of Anandamu'rtijii. Unit beings must be made to appreciate Its majesty." (CC-2, 'Sadhana', pt 1a)

Baba is our spiritual Preceptor, and in that role He is known as Shrii Shrii A'nandamu'rtijii. Thus we are to use this name with the greatest reverence. Every A'nanda Ma'rgii is aware about this.

We should not be like the worthless son in the above story who fails to give proper regard to his father.

Unfortunately, in the recently published book, the situation is not very favourable. See for your yourself how the publishers did.

HOW THEY PUBLISHED THE BOOK

Now, let's get to the book itself. The title is "He Lived Among Us" and it is 300+ pages long; but one need look no further than the cover to see how the publishers represented Baba.

Remember, this book is a collection of essays written by various intellectuals and researchers. But it was published by Ananda Marga Publications.

The subtitle of the book is printed on the cover: "Contributions of Shrii Shrii A'nandamu'rti in the eyes of his contemporaries".

PROBLEM #1: "contemporaries"

The first and most glaring problem on the cover is the use of the word "contemporaries" in the subtitle. Using this word - "contemporaries" - puts all those jinani intellectuals on par with Baba. Because as we all know, contemporaries refers to both time and stature. For instance, even though a normal citizen was born during the same time period as Barack Obama or Hugo Chavez, that person is not considered to be their contemporary since he is not a world or country leader. To be a
contemporary one must be of a similar social stature etc.

So it is abominable that our publishers used such a word in the subtitle to refer to these jinani authors, thereby placing them on equal footing as Sadguru Shrii Shrii Anandamurtiji. This book is supposed to glory Baba's Divine status but unfortunately it merely equates Him with these intellectuals, calling them His "contemporaries".

Some naive readers may think nothing is wrong with this, but every devotee will take strong exception to what these publishers have done. Indeed every bhakta will be quite alarmed and think that the AMPS publishers of this book have behaved like the worthless son in the above story.

PROBLEM #2: "his contemporaries"

The next major problem on the book's cover is this: The publishers did not capitalize the letter "h" when they wrote "his contemporaries" in the subtitle. This does two things. It fails to show the we, His followers, believe Him to be Divine; and it further equates those "contemporaries" as being on par with Baba. They are human beings and "he" is also a human being. There is no difference in stature.

Such is the tragedy that occurs by not capitalising the word "his". And again, this gross negligence was not carried out by some distant jinani writers but rather by our very own AMPS publications team. That is another reason why many are saying that those publishers are no better than the worthless son in the aforementioned story.

PROBLEM #3: Missing "ji"

We are to always the suffix "jii" when using His name. So it should be Shrii Shrii Anandamurtijii. That is how it is written in Caryacarya: "the name and form of Anandamu'rtijii." (cited above)

Yet, on the very of the cover of the book that is supposed to be in the honour of Baba, the respectful suffix "jii" is conspicuously missing. They merely wrote Shrii Shrii Anandamurti.

So this is yet another gross injustice. We are trying to propagate Baba's Divine Personality yet the publishers fail to give Him basic measures of respected and neglect to use the suffix "ji".

How then can we think that this book glorifies Baba when so many basic elements of respect are lacking. Even the followers of the crude dogmatic religions never fail to laud their preceptor of leader in public - i.e. they will always, always, always state "His Holiness the Dalai Lama" and never just "Dalai" or "Lama" etc - but in this AM book, the publishers did not give Baba the level of respect that even human beings get. After all, there are many people in society who are referred to with the suffix "ji", yet this was not donned upon Baba and He is Divine.

Thus time and again this publication presents Baba in a most lackluster and disrespectful manner, thereby leading good sadhakas to conclude that the publishers of this book are just as bad as the worthless son discussed above.

PROBLEM #4: The Main Title

Finally there is the main title: "HE LIVED AMONG US". No doubt the capitalised "H" but that has little value since ALL the letters are capitalised.

The main issue is that the title conveys the feeling that the book is about someone who has come and gone from this earth - that he was here and is now gone.

The title, "HE LIVED AMONG US", carries all kinds of finite and fleeting meanings.

It does not convey the idea that the subject of this book is an Eternal Entity who exists across time and space.

Thus on the cover of the book there are any number of cases of negligence and neglect. And it all speaks to the standard of the publishers. No one else is to blame. Those jinani writers may have written all kinds of nonsense on those 300+ pages, but what has happened on the cover is enough to turn the stomach of any right-thinking devotee.

That is why many sadhakas think that those publishers are just like the worthless son in the above story.

HOW IT WORKS WITH OTHER RELIGIONS

The various religions may be dogmatic and may be corrupt but at least they have the requisite courage and awareness to glorify their chosen Deity. In contrast, the publishers of AM books are either cowards or blind, or both.

Just see: Buddhists around the globe always refer to their leader as "His Holiness the Dalai Lama." This phrase gets repeated with every action and word of the Dalai Lama. And by this way they effectively promote their perceived greatness of their leader. Plus, they have taught the rest of the world to do the same - ie treat their Buddhist leader with respect.

Here is the proof - see this statement printed in a top western newspaper.

"Statement from the Press Secretary on the President' s meeting Thursday with His Holiness the XIV Dalai Lama:"The President met this morning at the White House with His Holiness the XIV Dalai Lama..." (Washington Post, Feb 18 2010)

This newspaper has emulated the titled that the followers use for the Dalai Lama, ie. His Holiness. If we fail to refer to Baba in a proper way, then we will miss the opportunity to teach the rest of the world about Baba's Divine stature, and we will be blamed - and rightly so.

Because indeed this is something that all the dogmatic religions and sects do: They treat their leader with utmost respect in the public arena. Whether it be "Lord Jesus Christ", "The Honourable Elijah Mohammed", "Maharishi Patanjali Ji", "Sri or Saint Shankaracarya Ji", "Saint Francis of Assisi" or any other religious leader, always the followers have the foresight and courage to give their leader respect.

But in AM, when our Guru truly is the Parama Purusa incarnate, the publishers could not live up to the standard that the dogmatic followers of other religions do. That is why many say that the cowardly publishers are just like the worthless son from the above story.

BABA SCOLDED ONE DADA

Who can forget that dramatic reporting session in front of Baba when one Dada mentioned Ramakrsna. Then immediately Baba scolded that Dada and told him not to refer to any great person in such a disrespectful manner. Baba said that one should use "Thakur Ramakrsna Paramahansa" as that gives the proper respect.

Here Baba is teaching us to use proper language and feeling when referencing a revered person. Naturally then, we are to apply the spirit of this teaching when referencing Baba also.

That means we are to say, "Shrii Shrii Anandamurtiji, or "Revered Baba", or "Sadguru" or any term that conveys the proper respect. By this way we not only share the feeling of our heart but we show others how they should refer to Him as well.

So we should pay heed to Baba's guideline from this reporting session.

Tragically, those publishers fell short of the mark, which is why many just call them worthless. About this you can decide for yourself by seeing the quality of their work.

JUST LIKE A PIG LICKING YOU

Here is one analogy that is appropriate to this situation.

If a dog or pig gets close to you then it may lick you out of love and respect. Because that is all that dog or pig knows to do. Likewise when any unqualified person tries to glorify Baba then due to their limited understanding they will create a mess, dripping their saliva all over the place. In trying to love and glorify Him something else will happen. And that is exactly what occurred when the AMPS publishing team made this book, "HE LIVED AMONG US". In that case are they any different from the local street dog or domesticated pig.

BABA'S BLESSING

By Baba's grace, He has revealed to us whom He is and it is our duty to share and spread His greatness with one and all. But when certain publishers shy away from this divine truth, either due to their cowardly nature or lack of realisation, then that is nothing but an ugly failure. That is why they and their book become "worthless", like the useless son in the above story. Baba is our Supreme Father and we must always convey this feeling of love and respect when raising His name, especially when done in public in the form of a book. As His sons and daughters, that is our inherent responsibility. None should fail and become worthless.

Namaskar,
Sudhakar

Note 1: THIS DADA DID THIS

I have great friendship and respect for Dada Sarvatmanandaji, so when it is his name that is listed on the inside cover as the Publications Secretary and when his Publications team is also involved, then I feel great pain as many may lose trust and faith in Dadaji. They may think he and his team are "worthless".

Here I just want to say I have great feeling for Dadaji and I truly hope he is able to repair this error - and fast, otherwise I fear others may lose respect for Dadaji.

Note 2: WHAT UGLINESS IS ON THE INSIDE

When the cover of the book is such an utter mess, then we can only imagine how many gross errors appear on the 300+ printed pages of this book. When the publishers themselves are unable to properly present Baba and His ideas, then they will be in no position to correct the many wrongs potentially made by these jinani authors. So we should all be ready. At this point, who knows what dirt might lie inside the front cover.

Baba's Mudra Photo is a Unique Gift...

Baba says, "The Sadguru is saying something, and the deaf or dumb man wants to hear it but cannot. If one concentrates the mind on Vara'bhaya Mudra', there will be the direct effect of positive microvita on the auricular or other nerve cells and also on the controlling cells, and it may be that all of a sudden he may get back the power of hearing.  One should look towards this mudra' and not to anything else. Microvita are radiated through this mudra'. This is the inner secret." (Microvita Nutshell, p.65)

Baba

"Maner mayu'r meleche ye pa'kha' krs'n'a meghe dekhe ca'nderi pa'she... "(#392)

Purport:

The divine Entity Parama Purusa has come and by His holy advent the whole creation is getting awakened. By seeing the clouds close to the moon, the peacock of my mind is extending its feathers. By the effect of the intoxicating and vibrating songs, the lyre of my heart is getting resonated. The lost heart has come back again. All those tunes which I had lost are again being played.

Baba, my entire existence has been reawakened. I In the deep blue sky, that divinely-intoxicating, heart-stopping vibration has come. Because of the advent of the ever-new, everything which was lost has gotten rejuvenated.

The rhythm which was gone has again returned, & now my whole body and mind is starting to dance to the tune which I had lost in the past. I have offered the entire basket of my heart at His alter; I have surrendered my whole existence at His lotus feet. The sweet breeze saturated with the flower fragrance is blowing.

Baba, due to Your divinely intoxicating presence and causeless grace, everything has gotten new life...

== REALLY IT IS SO-CALLED? ==

Namaskar,
Of late there has been an email thread called "silent action". You may have seen it in your in-box. Here our main focus is to examine the way of expression in one such letter.

REVERENCE IS NEEDED

As disciples on the tantric path, one of the most essential qualities is reverence for Guru. There must be utmost regard for Baba and that has to be reflected in all aspects of our expression: Thought, word, and deed.

Baba explains this quite clearly in His teachings:

Baba says, "I must have reverence for the Guru....That is, you must have respect for the Guru." (Ananda Vacanamrtam, Part 12, Shiva's Seven Secrets)

Baba says, "One must develop shraddhá [respect or reverence] for one’s preceptor, one’s teacher.”" (Ananda Vacanamrtam, Part 23, How to Concentrate)

Baba says, "One has [to] embrace the Supreme Cognitive Force with utmost reverence, single minded devotion and extreme sincerity." (Ananda Marga Ideology and Way of Live, part 6, The Only Way to Salvation)

Thus, maximum reverence for Guru and His teachings is a requisite in Tantra. Without such respect, there is nothing left. If the disciple does not bow down to the Guru in all ways, they cannot progress - rather they will degrade. Thus in one's thought, word and deed, in all of one's manners and expressions, a sadhaka must demonstrate respect of the highest regard for Guru.

WHAT ONE PERSON WROTE

Tragically, in the thread on silent action, one person wrote:

Baba has provided for the so-called 'Silent Action'

Such were the unfortunate words of one person - words that do not reflect even an ounce of respect for Guru.

As we know Baba's divine teachings are invaluable treasures for the humanity. His discourses bring forth guidelines never before kjnown to human society and spiritual practitioners. Baba's teachings are indeed blemishness and incredibly unique.

And His guideline of silent action is totally revolutionary. In this guideline Baba empowers family people to question the status of monks / wts. In the history of humanity, no prophet or preacher has dared to give such an edict.

Yet Baba, being the dharma Guru, has set down this special guideline of silent action to ensure that family margiis have the requisite tools to express their dissatisfaction with a particular worker. So silent action is a highly valuable and key guideline. The fact that Baba Himself has issued this teaching is enough that every Ananda Margii should respect it.

But tragically one persons casts extreme doubt and irreverence by calling it "so-called" silent action. As if Baba's divine teaching of silent action is fake, useless, phony and of no value.

SILENT ACTION IS AN EXCELLENT TOOL

All rational margiis & wts understand well that silent action is a highly beneficial teaching given by our Sadguru. Here are some things to consider:

1. Whether or not we choose to observe silent action in today's organisational climate, silent actions stands as an excellent tool in a healthy society.

2. Baba's teaching of silent action has inherent value. There is no scope for someone to term it as "so-called." Suppose there is an avadhuta rule that is not followed by the majority of Wts, then we should not call that avadhuta rule as so-called. We should not denigrate Baba's teaching just because some are not up to the mark. Similarly, just because some may not wish to use or do not know how to use silent action for a particular situation does not at all mean that one may call it so-called silent action. That is demeaning to both Guru and His given teaching of silent action.

3. At present, because of corruption by some organisational leaders and the lack of understanding of some margiis, silent action is not practiced nor allowed to be practiced. It is similar to how a corrupt government does not acknowledge that justice should be given.

4. Silent action is part of our dharmashastra as it stems from Ananda Vacanamrtam. If a case is being reviewed by the acarya board, we have the freedom to practice silent action against the concerned worker. This is Baba's clear-cut teaching. It is part and parcel of our spiritual philosophy so there is no question of referring to it in a denigrating manner liked "so-called".

5. Silent action works best when the margii is in close physical proximity to the worker in question. If the margiis and worker do not see each other frequently, then the worker may not even be aware that someone is taking silent actions against him. Hence, silent action is a very potent guideline when used in the right circumstance.

And certainly there is much more to be said about the right and proper use of silent action. Suffice to say here that anyone referring to silent action or any of Guru's divine teachings as "so-called" is being totally disrespectful and is undeserving to be called as Ananda Margii. Such a person should come forward an beg apology to correct his wrong. And he should vow to never make such a sinful mistake again.

BABA'S BLESSING

Baba has graciously bestowed on us the pure spiritual teachings of Ananda Marga. His guidelines are perfect and pure in all regards. We are truly blessed. There is zero scope to think that any teaching is "so-called." Rather Baba's each and every teaching is a veritable gold mine. Anyone who thinks otherwise is merely exposing their lowly mentality.

Namaskar,
Jivendra

Note 1: WHO WROTE LIKE THAT

Now we should take a look at who wrote like this and named silent action as "so-called".

Actually many might say this person to be a good sadhaka but by his use of the word "so-called" it seems as though he is losing his mental balance. Otherwise how to explain such an irreverent utterance.

We must remember that this world is mobile. Nothing remains the same - everyone and everything ages. Same is the case with this person. We should watch him carefully as he is advancing in years.

Let us not forget what happened with the first PP Dada Shraddhananda. Dadaji started suffering from dementia and began writing silly things and making a mockery. There are thousands of Shraddha Shuman songs which prove this point.

Intelligent people will always keep quiet when they start losing their capacity in old age. Their friends and family will help them and warn them about this.

Unfortunately, SS Goenka is just roaming the internet in such a condition and calling Baba's divine teachings as so-called. Is this not his dementia. Or what could be the reason why this is going on.

Truly it will be considered as a terrible tragedy if Goenka can no longer put his thoughts together properly. Someone should warn him of such an event and / or tell him to be more careful next time.

This Must Be Averted

Baba says, "'Andham tamah pravishanti mudha ye ke catmahano janah.' What
happens to the person who runs after the external mundane things instead of
the Self within? One day he finds himself surrounded by the blinding
darkness (Andhatamasa). All around he finds nothing. When a person whose
self has miserably degenerated, whose spiritual progress is altogether
stopped, rushes towards matter, his whole existence starts getting
crudified, his mind and Self get crudified, he forfeits the right even to
be called a human being. This is indeed a miserable condition, an
unimaginable circumstance." (Calcutta, 1980)

== RE: GUIDELINE OF BLIND PERSON ==

Namaskar,
After reading this article I must say I think it is superb. I know from my own experience how important it is to stay connected to Guru Baba, even if I am not always doing "AMPS organizational work." I have heard similar stories over the years of margiis who regret having left the organization of AMPS due to their own weakness, but in spite of this remained devoted to BABA and feel He is Parama Purusa. I think you raised many valid points. It seems that this misguided margii made this ridiculous remark - "We must not worship the Form of Guru" - simply because he has not experienced devotion, nor experienced the connection of love between himself and Guru. It is indeed a sad condition.

It is this margii's ego that is preventing him from experiencing Baba in this deep connection. This margii must sing Baba Nam Kevalam with deep ideation and do extensive sadhana (including all other aspects of 16 points) and then this feeling that Baba is Parama Purusa will naturally come in his heart. Then, by Baba's grace, he will have one-pointed devotion for Baba.

Until that time, brother Prakashji should try hard and we should help him progress; and such a person should totally desist from making his inane statements about our Revered Guru, Baba.

Namaskar,
Brahmavidya

Note 1: NOT AN ISOLATED EVENT
THIS PROBLEM IS RECURRING AND DEEP-SEATED
Sadly this issue of brother Prakash Laufer (NY sector, prakashlaufer@hotmail.com) making erroneous and misguided comments about Guru, the sanctity of Ista, and AM spiritual life is not an isolated occurrence.
Rather this has happened repeatedly - indeed it happens whenever the topic arises.
So there is no question of Prakashji making a typing mistake or forming the sentence in the wrong way. That is not the cause. The cause of his misguided comments is a blatant lack of devotional understanding and relationship with Ista (Baba). Otherwise what else could be the reason.
Here are two of the main letters which depict the problem at hand:

Baba

== RE: STUPID KING OF BLIND CABINET ==

Note: This letter is in reply to one group's false allegations.

Namaskar,
I totally agree: It is both shameful and sinful to give a higher place to PP Dada than to our Revered Baba during any DMS program.

On the DMS stage, PP Dada can be 1/2 foot high but in that case Revered Baba's place must be 5 feet high. Baba's place must be clearly above and unparalleled.
Unfortunately, at the recent 2011 Ananda Purnima DMS, the organisers did not do like this. Rather, they placed PP Dada on a pedestal higher than our Beloved Guru Baba.

It is also true that various top Dadas see PP merely as a political pawn to put forth their own agenda. That is why they prop up the status of PP. That has been going on since 1990.

But as stated in the original letter of this thread (link appended below), the post of PP is social not spiritual. Yet some Dadas, with - an ulterior motive in mind - have designated PP Dada as the spiritual head. But that just is not so - Purodha Pramukha is a social post. All the reasons posted about this earlier are appended at the bottom of this email.

Now I wish to bring up my new point.

REBUTTAL TO H GROUP'S BOGUS CLAIM

Here today I also wish to give a reply to Ranchi's false justification of 20 June 2011 which is appended below. Apparently they did not like the first posting on this topic, but since they had no logic and reasoning to stand on they came up with one bogus allegation.

They called the photo of PP Dada at DMS "fabricated" and "confusing". Yet what they failed to state is that this is the very photo which Ranchi themselves distributed across the entire globe. This is the photo which is featured on their own sponsored website. No one altered this photo in any way. This is their photo. They are the ones who took the picture of PP Dada Vishvadevananda sitting above Baba on the DMS stage. No one else took this photo and no one fabricated it in any way.

As proof of all this, please see the attached screenshot which details how this photo was published on their official Ananda Parivara website newsletter. Ananda Parivara is the official NY newsletter from the Ranchi front. In addition we have attached a jpg version of that same picture. But again, they are the ones who brought this photo to fore. It is their work from start to finish. Thus they are in no position to accuse anyone of "fabricating" the photo.

Indeed team Ranchi could not logically reply to any of the substantive points raised:
(a) PP was seated in a higher and more respectful place than Baba;
(b) PP is social post not a spiritual one;
(c) top Dadas manipulated PP for their selfish gain;
(d) and more.

Since they had no reply to any of the above, Ranchi had to scramble for some other allegation. So they came up with their false accusation that "someone fabricated the photo".

This was their false and utterly ridiculous attempt. They accused "someone" of posting a deceptive photo of PP on the DMS stage. But that is entirely wrong because they were the ones who took this photo of PP Dada sitting on a higher level than Revered Baba. And they uploaded it to the internet for all to see. Yet they levied an accusation against someone else.

WHAT PEOPLE DO WHEN THEY HAVE NO LOGIC

And that is exactly what Baba says people do when they are devoid of logic and reasoning - they make bogus allegations.

Baba says, "Where reasoning fails, vilification becomes the sole stock-in-trade. When you hear abuses from these frogs-in-the-well, you can take for granted that the grey matter in their frenzied brains have no functional residues left and that they have come to you only to convince you of their helpless and fey [crazy] condition." (Subhasita Samgraha, Part 3, Shreya & Preya)

Thus team Ranchi put forth their false allegation because they had no legs to stand on.

STILL THEY MAY CONTINUE TO CRY OUT

Even then - still to this day - those at the helm of Ranchi may say that "it was the camera angle" or "it was the side from where it was taken" or any other ludicrous justification they might give. But you know that?

There is no way for them to escape this truth. The stage was small and it was all plain as day what happened. There is no question that a camera angle ruined the scene. The photo was undignified simply because the reality of the way things were set-up on the DMS stage was totally improper. Guru must be given a far higher place than PP. The fact that PP's seat was higher than Baba's is their fault, not the fault of those circulating the photo. Only in-charges suffering from a low-minded outlook could have set-up the stage in this way. That was the misfortune, not anything else.

CLOSING REMARKS

The following are some concluding points to keep in mind.

The ideal way for the DMS stage to be set up is to have Baba's photo elevated at least 5 feet off the ground. Then there is no doubt or hairline measurements about who has the highest seat and who is the Revered One. Then PP can sit on some sort of cushion if he wishes, whereby he is a few inches off the ground or 1/2 foot if needed.

Many of the general margiis and field workers in attendance did indeed feel uncomfortable and devotionally wounded by seeing PP's seat above that of Baba. So it is not just a photo that is wrong. The entire ambiance and aura of the DMS was negatively affected by this. Just ask those rational-minded margiis and Wts who attended.

REVERENCE TO GURU

Let us all contemplate this below teaching. By this way it is sure no such mistake will occur on our DMS stage again.

Baba says, "Trtiiyaḿ Gurupújanam. I must have reverence for the Guru. What is the Guru? “Gu” means “darkness”, that is, darkness in the psycho-spiritual sphere. And “Ru” means “dispelling agent.” That is, he who dispels darkness from my psychic and spiritual body is the Guru. “Gu” means “darkness”, “Ru” means “dispeller”. “Trtiiyaḿ Gurupújanam.” That is, you must have respect for the Guru." (Ananda Vacanamrtam-12, Shiva's Seven Secrets)

Note 1: PLACE OF GURU IN TANTRA & PP IS A SOCIAL POST

Here below are two section of the earlier letter on this topic.

PLACE OF GURU IN TANTRA

Let's begin with a quick review of our tantra tradition.

As we know, we do guru dhyana at the sahasrara cakra. That is the highest point of the human experience. That spot signifies deep regard and reverence. It is the pinnacled point of the human mind. Indeed that is the tradition in tantra: To goad the mind upwards, never lower.

And indeed in all aspects of our spiritual life, Guru's place is the highest and the most revered. Nobody is above or on par with Guru. This is the main teaching of tantra.

Because when Baba is the Guru and He is Taraka Brahma and perfect in all respects, then naturally His status is unparalleled.

Baba says, "The one formless, beginningless and infinite Parama Brahma (Supreme Consciousness) is the only entity to be attained by living beings – That alone is Jagat Guru (the Supreme preceptor), That alone has revealed Brahmavidya´ (intuitional science) to us through the medium of the name and form of Anandamu´rtijii. Unit beings must be made to appreciate Its majesty." (Caryacarya, part 2, Sadhana, point #1a)

Yet some for their selfish reasons are trying to prop up PP Dada - i.e. one mere mortal born in bondage and prone to avidya maya - as being the revered one. Indeed this drama has been going on in one way or another since 1990.

So we should investigate why this is being done and clear the air.

PP IS A SOCIAL POST - NOT A SPIRITUAL ONE

First off, we should all understand that the post of Purodha Pramukha is a social one, not a spiritual post. Here are the reasons why:

(A) Caryacarya itself is our social scripture. And CC-1 lays out the social duties of purodha pramukha. PP Dada's duty is to act as head of this worldly organisation AMPS. In this capacity, PP is the "chief of the purodhas".

(B) PP has zero ability to arrange his own mukti & moksa; in that case what can he do for others in this regard. Nothing. PP is himself not liberated and obviously cannot grant that to others. This furthermore shows that his post is purely social, not spiritual.

(C) PP cannot give any new scripture or shastra. Our AM scripture is perfect and complete - all delivered by Guru Himself. If PP wishes to write a story or commentary he may do so. But he is unable to contribute even one syllable to the shastras of Ananda Marga.

(D) Organizational executive decisions related with social affairs must reach to Purodha Pramukha for his discretionary review. This is one of his social duties.

(E) PP's post is lifelong - not longer than that.

(F) In the Purodha Board, PP's single vote has decisive meaning, though his order can be overturned. Hence, PP's order is not final; his decisions are subject to review.

(G) Each of the judiciary decisions also must reach to Purodha Pramukha for his final approval. This again deals with the social sphere.

(H) Purodha Pramukha is chief of the purodhas - which is a social board in our AMPS.

(I) PP Dada has no great spiritual power anointed to him by God. Just he is one purodha selected by his peers to serve as the chief of the board.

(J) Plus PP has so many more social duties and responsibilities.

By all this it is quite clear that the post of Purodha Pramukha is a social post - not a spiritual one - in our Ananda Marga Pracaraka Samgha.

In our Caryacarya, Baba has given various provisions about the social post of Purodha Pramukha. The post of PP is just one of the many social posts in the organization wherein PP Dada deals with worldly affairs, not spiritual emancipation etc.

The question remains: When the position of purodha pramukha is clearly a social post, then why do some try to turn it into a spiritual one by giving maximum reverence to PP Dada and placing his seat higher than Baba's.

Note 2: RANCHI GROUP ACCUSATION

In the section cited below, you will find Ranchi group attempt to deflect the wrongdoing elsewhere by levying a false allegation.

If you see another photo it will be more clear. If same photo will be taken from the nearest point of the Baba's Pratikrti, stage of PP dada comes in down level.

Baba

"Lukiye tumi ka'j kare ja'o pratya'sha' kichu rekhe..."   (P.S. 2618)

Purport:

Baba, You are the Doer of all the work being done in this vast universe.
Secretly You go on doing and executing everything. Nobody can see You-- but
You are doing everything. And You do not harbour any desire to receive
anything in return. Just You are deeply involved in managing all the work
secretly, O' my Parama Purusa. And when You notice that somebody is
searching You, then that time You move ahead in Your grand liila of hide
and seek.   Baba, You decorate the effulgence in darkness; and simultaneously You
flood the cimmerian darkness with the showering of Your divine effulgence.
Baba, You are the bridge between life and death; You are the crossing
point. Yet all the while You Yourself remain hidden behind the scenes.
Baba, You are the great hope of the hopeless hearts. In the end of the
night You are the colourful dawn. Baba, You show the direction to those who
have lost the path. And You spread Your divine love in all the ten
directions.  Baba, You go on doing all the work of this entire universe secretly--
never desiring anything in return. Just You continue playing hide & seek.
Baba, Your liila is unfathomable...

== STUPID KING OF BLIND CABINET ==

Namaskar,
At the recent 2011 Ananda Purnima DMS, one grave injustice was done by a few organisational leaders. The ramifications of this sinful act are slowly being embedded within our organisational-cum-devotional culture. We should all be aware about what happened - otherwise things will only continue to get worse.

THE SCENE INSIDE DMS

Here is what occurred: Purodha Pramukha, i.e. Dada Vishvadevananda, appeared on stage at the DMS sitting on an elevated seat that was higher than Guru's place. The photo is attached for your review.

Here the key point is that in AM Brahma is the Guru. There is no lineage of gurus as in Hinduism and other yogic traditions. Baba is the Parama Purusa incarnate whereas PP Dada is just one jiiva born into this world with all kinds of samskaras and ignorance. Baba is the granter of salvation whereas PP is struggling for liberation. There is no comparison between the two. There is no question of PP gaining higher stature.

Yet tragically, that is exactly what happened at the recent Ananda Purnima DMS. It was arranged to put PP Dada's dais higher up than Guru's place on the DMS stage. That is the atrocity.

In this letter we explore (a) how and why opportunistic Dadas prop up PP's stature for their own gain by promoting PP as the spiritual head of AM, and (b) why the post of Purodha Parmukha is verily a social post, not a spiritual one.

OPPORTUNISTIC WAYS OF GROUPISTS

If you look at the present day dogmatic religious scene or political field then you may see that lackluster people are always getting the power. Just some puppet type of person gets the leadership role, and conniving priests rule from behind.

And this is exactly what has been happening with the post of purodha pramukha since 1990. From day 1, Sarvatmananda was excited and eager to select a PP whom he could control 100%: Hence the selection of the late Dada Shraddhananda.

Sarvatmananda immediately then propped up PP Dada Shraddhananda as being divine because then those divine powers would be routed to him (i.e. Sarvatmananda) since he was the one controlling PP. By this way Sarvatmananda ruled with an iron fist - all via the tongue and signature of PP. It was quite a plan.

And indeed Rudrananda basked in this same luxury when he snatched PP Shraddhananda. He could do anything and everything with PP's stamp of approval. By this way he even ousted Sarvatmananda from the organisation. How ironic: Sarvatmananda got bit by his own creation.

Anyway, groupists want to get more power by controlling a PP whom they deem as being all-powerful. This is their trick. And to make PP all-powerful they build him up as being divine and the veritable spiritual head of AMPS. Tragically, some innocent margiis get befooled and cheated.

Actually what these Dadas do is just a carbon copy of Hindu dogma. The Hindu priests put all power in their idols. Then when they wish to get any order implemented, they say, "Goddess Kali told me to tell you...". This is their manner. By this way all credit and responsibility goes to some stone statue that is 100% silent. There is nothing anybody can do but obey. After all, where is there scope to argue or protest? That stone idol is mute. In this way, those exploiting priests have unquestionable power.

Some of our top Dadas do exactly the same maneuver. They create an aura that PP is great, nay divine, and put him on a high pedestal - above Baba. Of course, within their inner circle they have not an iota of respect for this PP Dada - after all he is just their puppet - but they proejct that same PP as having divine and absolute powers. PP's word is beyond question. This is their outer show to the general public. With this technique, such Dadas can execute their every wish: Expulsion as weapon, victimisation of innocent margiis, capture more power, eradicate margii rights, scripture distortion, Fake Ananda Vanii and so much more. All of these misdeeds are carried out by "the word of PP".

Their top aim is for the common margii to transfer all their respect and love for Baba to PP and ultimately surrender to PP. Then those opportunistic Dada can wield full power in the Marga.

All they have to do is find some spineless Dada to act as PP and then prop up that Dada as being a god. This is their plan. In the past they did this with Shraddhananda and now they are doing this with Vishvadevananda.

That is why at the recent Ananda Purnima DMS they placed PP Dada Vishvadevananda's dais on a plateau higher than Baba's stance. Thus we see that who gets the high seat.

CONCLUDING THOUGHTS

Here are some closing thoughts on this topic:

1. Such opportunistic Dadas are just implementing Hindu dogma. Step by step they are just putting forth the idea that when Guru "left" then the current in-charge, i.e. PP Dada, takes on an equal or greater role.

2. So margiis should salute PP as PP has divine power. By securing maximum respect for PP from the margiis, then simple and ignorant margiis become restless to get the blessing of PP. In the name of PP they will accept anything. This is the plan of those opportunistic Dadas.

3. New margiis think this is the system and that everything is proper, while old margiis think that the matter is sensitive. So they do not protest or raise their voice in public.

4. In AM we do not approve of these Hindu dogmas. But opportunistic purodhas are so degraded that want to start that tradition, gradually. The attached photo is but one of the proofs. It is further validated by viewing all the horrors that have been done in the name of PP since 1990. By this way anyone can see that they prop up the post of PP to something divine and then wield that power to their liking.

5. The various religions have a spiritual head but that is not the case in AM. In our Marga, there is no third entity between God and the disciple. The religions use a priest between their god and the seeker; but in AM, Parama Purusa (God) and the sadhaka have a direct connection. There is no intermediary.

6. We have to remember that in AM the role of an acarya is limited. Whether it be RS Dada or PP Dada, they have the same Guru as regular margiis. PP is not something divine. Rather, he is just a human being in a social post.

BABA'S BLESSING

Baba has given Ananda Marga ideology for rooting out dogma. Yet now we ourselves are falling into Hindu dogma as top Dadas prop up the stature of PP on the stage of our very own DMS - giving more status to PP than Baba. Is that not ironic - even tragic.

Even though in the relative sphere our Marga is struggling some, surely the day is not far when all will rally around His divine message in one voice and declare:

"All human beings belong to one race...'The exploitation of human beings cannot be allowed!' and, 'Religious hypocrisy cannot be tolerated!' Giving a clarion call to the fragmented human society from beneath the saffron flag, the symbol of service and sacrifice, they will proclaim at the top of their voices, 'Human beings of the world, unite!'" (POD)

Namaskar,
Shiva Kumar

Note 1: MORE ABOUT THE INNER SCENE

In this entire spectacle, PP Dada is the "stupid king" and the opportunistic Dadas are the "blind cabinet" as they do not realise that by not having reverence (shraddha') for Baba they are inviting their spiritual deminse.

Here are some other key points to know:

1) Because PP Vishvadevananda sided with Nigamananda and toured around Europe with him, now PP Dada is very scared of being victimised by Rudrananda. So he is psychically touching the feet of Rudrananda to get in his good books. That is why, now, all of a sudden, after the death of Nigamanadna, PP is being extremely obedient to Rudrananda. Because earlier he left Rudrananda to be with Nigamananda. PP was not aware that Rudrananda would outlive Nigamananda.

2. Rudrananda wants to become PP. So these days his "yes men" are campaigning for him. They want to remove PP by making life totally suffocating for Vishvadevananda etc. PP Vishvadevananda is younger than Rudrananda so they do not have the luxury of  waiting for him to die. Rather they have to force PP out of the post by making life unbearable for him. Then Rudrananda can capture the seat.

3. Ananda Dyotona Didi is also feeling shelterless since the death of Nigamananda so she is also thinking to leave team Ranchi. Staying is unbearable for her.

Note 2: CAPITALISING ON PP'S STATURE:

MARRIAGE BLESSING BUSINESS

The below letter is another way in which they aim to profit by making PP into some divine entity. At DMS, they are charging big money from margiis to get a marriage blessing from PP Dada. When in truth PP's post is only social, not spiritual.

                      To Do Great Work

Baba says, "The meaning of the 'Sam'gacchadhvam' Mantra should be realised
in life. Always remain united. Solve all problems, big or small, with
unity. Consider misfortune of one as the misfortune of all-- an injury to
one as an injury to all." (CC-2, 'Society' chapter, point #34)

Note: So long as Baba's above teaching is not put into practice, one cannot
do great work. Devoid of this one's life will be as meaningful as the life
of a termite or ant etc. In our practical life we should be strict in
following Baba's teaching.
