O the Divine Entity who are You who has come in my flower garden in this spring season with a sweet and charming smile. When I saw You for the first time I was surprised, and it was difficult to think that such an attractive Entity would be here. I wanted to look towards You more intimately but I could not, that time I was sitting in the flower garden unmindfully.

I couldn't even hear the footsteps of Your arrival, & You did not give any hint or clue before coming to this garden. So I could not receive You properly nor could I offer You a garland. You have graced me by coming here but You have not cared about receiving an invitation. Please tell me, O' Divine Entity, who are You?

Understanding Your liila is impossible. Within a flash You become tough and then in the next moment You are as tender as a flower-- like a garland of love --so sweet and charming. O divine Entity You cannot be understood. You are Infinite--no beginning, & no end. Through the practice of sadhana and dhyana I am surrendering myself at Your alter . Baba You have graced me by coming to my mental flower garden...


== FANATICISM: BOON & CURSE ==

Being fanatic about a particular idea or path can either be a boon or a curse - it all depends upon what one is being fanatic about.

For example being fanatical or extreme in following AM ideology is great and by doing so one will become divine, whereas being fanatical or radical in following one of the dogmatic religions is harmful and one will become a beast.

As Ananda Margiis and disciples of Baba, we should be perfectly clear about this and not be swayed by common perspectives which preach "moderation" in the following any path.

Unfortunately, recently some have terribly misunderstood this entire issue and in the process even glorified one Didi who contravened Baba's teachings on dharma by eating tamasik food.

So we should all beware, lest we fall from the divine path of AM.


WHAT THE GENERAL PUBLIC THINKS

For centuries the common people have seen how fundamentalists and radicals in the dogmatic religions have created hell in the society. Christians have stoned people to death, Muslims have eliminated women's rights and chopped the hands of innocent people, and there are so many other examples.

That is why the general citizens always say: "Do not be radical or extreme. Such fanaticism is not good. Be moderate and tolerant in your approach."

Essentially what they are saying is entirely true. Following the dogmatic religions cent-per-cent will cause many problems.

But what the common people do not realise is that AM ideology is different. It has been given by Parama Purusa Himself and is grounded in rationality and logic. It is perfect - free from defect - and based in science. Thus our path is not an ism, but rather a scientific approach.


BABA'S SPECIAL TEACHING ON FANATICISM

In one specials discourse, Adhyamatic Unmada Kii A'vashyakata' (Hindi) in AV-28, Baba reveals the inner secrets of fanaticism.

Baba says, "To do any concrete work - good or bad - it needs fanaticism. Those who have this tendency and are bad then they will be demonic; in the same way to do any good work there must be fanaticism (zeal) and such persons will become assets of the human society. No one can hinder their progress. For attaining Parama Purusa, the ultimate goal, there must be fanaticism - "I must get Him." Then success is sure. Spiritual fanaticism is very important - not religious fanaticism. If there is religious fanaticism, then they form a group and that is fanaticism. And what is spiritual fanaticism, "I will do everything for my ideology. For me, living and dying for ideology are the same. For me the most important thing is my ideology." (summary of original Hindi)

Thus Baba's point is very clear. Fanaticism is needed to do anything lasting work in this world. But being fanatic in following the dogmatic religions is very bad and one will commit untold harm, whereas being fanatic in following the dharma of AM ideology is a top attribute and one will bring much welfare to the world and attain Him.


ONE MARGII GOT CONFUSED

Because of the rhetoric in the general society about fanaticism and being extreme, a statement was issued which reveals the depth of their confusion on this issue.

They wrote: "Taking Baba's guidelines to the extreme is not really doing a service to anyone."

However, the above statement directly contravenes Baba's teachings.


MUST BE STRICT IN OUR AM IDEAL

In so many discourses and in so many ways, Baba has again and again repeated that we must be strict in dharma, uncompromising in following Ista and adarsha, and that we must be 100% faithful to our ideal.

Svadharme nidhanam' shreyah paradharmo bhaya'vahah

Baba says, "It is better to die as a human being [following bhagavad dharma] than to live as an animal (DKG)

Nindantu niitinpun'a'h....

Baba says, "The Sha'stras say that a person must stick to his ideals irrespective of whether he receives praise or abuse, whether wealth comes or wealth goes, whether he lives a thousand years or suffers death the next moment. Such a person is called “dhiira”. My direction to you is to be Dhiira. You must stick to your ideals in spite to everything. In this lies your spiritual growth." (AV-1)

Baba says, "Fight for your Ideology. Be one with your Ideology. Live for your Ideology. Die for your Ideology." (A'nanda Va'nii #14)

Thus from His discourses to 16 Points and to so many of His mandates, Baba says we must be strict in our ideal and never deviate from Ista or adarsha. And by this way, we will be able to do great works on this earth and serve everyone. Those who are sincere are able to generate more sympathisers.

Whatever else may happen in this world, so long as we are firm in AM teachings then everything will be proper. This we must always remember.


FALLING FROM THE PATH OF DHARMA

Unfortunately, some - in support of the point that we should not be strict or extreme in following AM - have insisted that one should be loose in following Baba's teachings.

To that end, he has shared this following account about one Didi. They wrote:

"I know of a Didi who was invited to dinner with Celebrities and Politicians to receive a huge some of money for her children's home. Apparently the soup contained onion, however she politely consumed the soup knowing that her actions were not for her own benefit but for her children and project and of respect to the donors who had provided a tremendous gift to her project."

So the above is glorifying the fact that this Didi left her ideal in order to please certain politicians and for the sake of getting some money. This is indeed a tragedy and the wrong way to live one's life. We must never adopt such an outlook.

Baba's clear-cut teaching is that we must never compromise our ideals for money, name, or fame.

Otherwise what is next for this Didi. For the sake of money and pleasing politicians today she has eaten onions - what will she do tomorrow? Drink alcohol, eat meat, or perhaps even do something worse. Indeed, once one compromises on their ideal, there is no end to the depth of their fall.

For a few pennies, Didiji left her dharma. This is a cheap way to live and will produce no fruit. That means one can be purchased by capitalists at any time. And those capitalists will recognise this fact and they will think that Didiji is weak and that with money they can get her to do anything. In that way, they will tempt and purchase Didi each and every time. Because they will think that she is just one cheap lady. Likewise, because our Central Dadas have swerved from that path of dharma margiis have lost respect for them. Whereas if those Dadas had been fanatic in adhering to AM ideology, their respect would not have washed away.

So we must never do like this. To do anything great in this world and to earn the respect of others, one must be vigilant to follow their ideal. That means as Ananda Margiis - whether one is WT or margii - we must always follow His teachings. That is our main duty and that is the way to bring welfare to ourselves and others. That is the way to earn others respect and propagate the gospel of AM.


MUST NEVER COMPROMISE FOR MONEY OR ANY OTHER REASON

For further clarification about this we need look no further that one real incident in Baba's life.

One time, in the 1960's when AM was in need of money for schools, jagrtis and service projects, one wealthy capitalist named Hanuman Prasad Podhar who owned the famous Giita Press in Gorakhpur came to see Baba.

At the time Baba was in Bettiah and Hanuman Prasad arrived there and insisted that he should be initiated by Baba, not by any Wt or family acarya. The margiis and Wts were reluctant but ultimately agreed since they felt they will need to get money from this wealthy many to support AM schools etc.

So they brought Hanuman Prasad to Baba's door and he was allowed to enter. Hanuam Prasad approached Baba with a bag of money in his hand which he promptly offered to Baba. Baba took the money, then walked over to the window, and dropped the bag of money outside.

Seeing this Hanuman Prasad ran out of the room to go get the money.

Immediately, Baba went to the door and locked it and Hanuman Prasad was never allowed inside again. Baba then scolded all the margiis and warned them to never compromise and be purchased by any capitalist ever again.

By this above story - which is a famous story in AM - we can understand that no amount of money should ever divert us from our ideal. That is Baba's guideline.

Thus we must not be at all swayed by the general populace about the point of fanaticism as happened with the confused margii who thinks that we should not be extreme in following AM and that Didi was proper by deviating from her ideal in order to accept money.

Rather it is our duty to bring this margii to the point of proper understanding. As Ananda Margiis, we must value ideology above all else - then and then only can something great be done on this earth.


BEING STRICT IN BHAGAVAD DHARMA IS AN ASSET

Only by being ultra-strict in following bhagavad dharma can we bring relief and justice in society. The stricter the better - there is nothing to be lost in being more vigilant. Only there is something to be gained.

The more adherent we are in helping the poor or eliminating exploitation, the greater the result. There is no drawback by being fanatical in following the dharma of Ananda Marga. It will make the society pure and the sadhaka divine. On this point, there must not be even one ounce of confusion lest we fall from our ideal for some silly or crude reason.

It is not like the religions where fanaticism is bad and moderation is necessary otherwise one will end up harming or even slaughtering others in the name of their dogmatic teaching.

That is why moderation is needed in religion but is not at all useful on the path of Ananda Marga.


BABA'S BLESSING

By Baba's grace He has given us a great ideology and by following it strictly all kinds of great things will happen on this earth. None should get confused like the above margii and mistakenly think that we should be sloppy or lazy or relaxed about following AM teachings.

Baba says, "Where the question of benevolence and malevolence is concerned we will not deviate an inch from our ideology, nor will we allow others to do so. One cannot promote human welfare if one bothers too much about public criticism, about the reaction in the papers or among the voters." (NSS, Disc: 14)

Note 1: BABA STORY: TWO DISCIPLES JUMPING FROM TOWER

To prove the importance of being strict in Ista, in one reporting session Baba told the following story. Two disciples were on top of a tower: One was Muslim the other Hindu. The Muslim jumped off with firm faith and Allah and safely reached to the ground. The Hindu saw that and immediately thought that Allah saved him and was unsure if Ram could do the same. So when jumping from the tower the Hindu had doubt in his mind and died from the fall.

Of course this was one joke or story, and the point is not that we should be Hindu or Muslim. Baba's teaching is that one should have firm faith in Ista & Adarsha and as Ananda Margiis we must have firm faith in Him and His teachings. Then no harm can come to us. Whereas if we have doubt or are remiss in following His guidelines, then we are doomed.


Note 2: TERMS COMMONLY MISUNDERSTOOD

Nowadays there are a few terms that are seen upon as negative in the modern world - words like ideology, cult, svastika, fanaticism. And when applied to worldly things they are not very good terms. But in the path of AM, we have our own outlook and approach. In AM those terms - ideology, cult, svastika, and fanaticism - all have great meaning and value in life. So we should not deviate from these ideals just because the general society finds these terms to be problematic or harmful. We should not let their ignorance or misunderstanding misguide us. Rather it is our duty to educate them on the stance of AM.


Note 3: AM IS NOT AN ISM BUT A SCIENCE, THUS NO MODERATION

Because AM is not an ism but rather a scientific approach, there is no need for moderation. Just as the astronauts of NASA are strict in following their scientific techniques, and Olympians are strict in following their training regimen, similarly we should be strict in 16 points. It is not that being too strict will be harmful. Rather strictness in 16 points is that way to success - in that regard the more strict the better.

Baba says, "You know Lalita Ma'rmika dance used during Kiirtana is a purely spiritual dance, and Kaos'ikii is a psycho-spiritual dance - it starts on the psychic level and culminates on the spiritual level. And Ta'n'd'ava is physico-psycho-spiritual."

"In Lalita Ma'rmika, the position of the arms is above 90 degrees. This denotes that it is a Mudra' - in Sam'skrta it is called a 'Mudra'. This mudra' means, 'O Supreme Creator, Thou art mine and I am Yours. I am Thine'." (AV-12, p.31)

When Road Signs Are Wrong

Namaskar,
"“I am that Vireshvijay Vasumallik,” he replied. Saying this, he threw
himself into the water. The rapids flung his body around violently and
carried him off towards a deep cavern. After that his body sank and
disappeared from sight. A sudden strong gust of wind blew at my back
from the direction of the forest. Then the gust of wind started blowing
towards the mountain in front of me. All around me I could hear the
sound; son, son, son. If someone else had been there they would not have
heard anything else, but in the middle of this son-son sound I could
hear Vireshvijay’s last words ma'-ma'-ma' go [mother, mother, oh my dear
mother]. With steadfast eyes I looked at the rapids. Unknowingly, my
eyes lighted on a few drops of water. In all directions one could hear
the hills reverberating with the sound – ma'-ma'-ma' go." (SC-1, Disc: 4)

The above is the concluding paragraph of Baba's dramatic story about the
great revolutionary Vireshvijay Vasumallik in Shabda Cayanika part 1.
Baba, being the supreme storyteller extraordinaire, narrates this
history about Vireshvijay's epic confrontation with the British invaders
in riveting fashion.

Anyone not familiar with the story should certainly take time to read it.


                    "SON, SON, SON"

Unfortunately there is one serious mistake in the translation and
publication of this story, and in particular in the last paragraph,
noted above.

At one point, Baba is describing how the wind is blowing.

The publishers wrote: "A sudden strong gust of wind blew at my back from
the direction of the forest. Then the gust of wind started blowing
towards the mountain in front of me."

Baba narrates the scene further.

And the publishers wrote, "All around me I could hear the sound; son,
son, son."

According to this translation, it appears to the reader that the sound
or word reverberating in the wind is "son, son, son", which of course
would refer to the male child of a mother or the cherished son of one's
homeland.

And since Vireshvijay is the courageous native son of that land, and
since Vireshvijay is about to meet his tragic death, and since in that
final moment Vireshvijay himself calls out, ma'-ma'-ma' [mother, mother,
oh my dear mother], then it certainly seems like someone or something is
crying out for her son - whether it be some type of spirit, a ghost or
goddess of that land, or mother nature; and in response, our tragic hero
is replying back: Mother, mother, oh my dear mother. It might even seem
to the reader that Vireshvijay leaped to his death in response to the
call of some ghostly or ethereal motherly figure. That is the way the
story reads.

But that is not at all what is going on. Due to a critical error in
translation / publication, the entire meaning is skewed, altered and the
reader is led astray.


                     WHAT IT REALLY MEANS

In that culminating scene of this most dramatic story, Baba is artfully
describing the sound of the wind.

The publishers wrote: "A sudden strong gust of wind blew at my back from
the direction of the forest. Then the gust of wind started blowing
towards the mountain in front of me."

That part is ok.

But then the publishers wrote: "All around me I could hear the sound;
son, son, son."

This is where the problem lies.

When the publishers wrote, "son, son, son," it seems that a ghost or
mother nature or some ethereal mother is calling out to her native son,
Vireshvijay. That is the impression that any reader would get based on
what the publishers printed.

But in reality, something entirely different is going on.

In His colourful manner of narration, Baba is making and describing the
sound of the wind itself.

In Hindi or Bengali, the phonetic spelling of the sound a large gust of
wind makes when it is rushing through the mountains or forest is: shon',
shon', shon' (with a nasal "n" at the end).

Or there may be a better way to write it, perhaps shoun', but the sense
is that Baba is actually making the sound of the wind as one would do in
Hindi or Bengali. That is what is meant and indeed stated.

In which case the translators / publishers should have written:
"Whoosshh, whoooshh, whooshh", or some other term or phrasing in English
that would denote that Baba is describing or emulating the sound of the
wind as it rushes through the forest. And then the word could be
italicised as well, further indicating that Baba is describing an actual
sound.

But the translators missed this point entirely. They misunderstood
Baba's divine way of storytelling. And they took it literally that the
wind was speaking the English word "son, son, son", as in the case of a
male child of one mother.

Thus any reader will be terribly confused and led astray.

Because again, in reality, Baba is describing the way the fast blowing
wind is howling through the forest landscape, rustling all the leaves.
We have all heard such sounds before. And the phonetic way of writing
that sound in Hindi would be something like: shon', shon', shon', with
nasal sounding "n" at the end.

So that sound is not at all the English word "son", as in "son" or
"daughter" or "male offspring".

Unfortunately, our publishers - albeit their intentions were innocent in
contrast to certain blatant and manipulated distortions that have been
made in the past - could not properly nor accurately depict
what Baba was telling.

In result, this great story from Shabda Cayanika about the revolutionary
hero Vireshvijay is tainted and ends in confusion as if some ghost or
other-worldly being is crying out for her lost native son to commit
suicide etc. And that Baba is glorifying such acts.

Such is the extent of the misportrayal of the current English edition of
this book, Shabda Cayanika part 1.

A truly dharmic and unique history has been severely tainted.


                       CORRECTING THE WRONG

Needless to say, this error in translation or publication should be
corrected at the earliest. If those publishers wait for the publication
of the next edition of Shabda Cayanika part 1 in order to correct the
error, then that may take decades and over that time the correction will
ultimately be forgotten. And the book will be reprinted in its current
faulty state - leading readers astray.

Best then is if an errata page is made today itself and a formal
statement issued by the Publications Dept in order to clarify the error.
Then everyone will be properly informed and there will no longer be
confusion about this wonderful passage.


                 AM SCRIPTURE IS OUR ROAD SIGN

We must remember that our AM sha'stra or scripture is like a divine road
sign, clearly indicating to us where to go and how to proceed in life.

In our AM books, Baba tells us so many things: How to take a bath, what
food to eat, the cycle of brahmacakra, what is sin and what is virtue,
the history of so many lands, and yes, so many beautiful stories like
that of the great ideological revolutionary Vireshvijay.

In turn, we believe and follow those divine precepts: Paragraph by
paragraph, sentence by sentence, and word by word, thinking them to be
true to Baba's spoken discourse.

His printed teachings - the books of A'nanda Ma'rga - are our road sign
in life. By following the word and spirit of His every teaching we are
able to progress.

Baba says, "Do this, don’t do this – to prescribe these dos and don’ts
of life is the duty of sha'stra. And why does the sha'stra prescribe
those things? For salvation and liberation sha'stras prescribe these dos
and don’ts of life." (SS-21)

It is Baba's boundless grace on us that He has given us the pathway to
success in the form of a written scripture. Now it is the duty of those
at the helm to ensure our AM publications are done properly. Because
when our AM books are not proper, then our entire Marga society will get
the wrong road sign in life and be led astray, even harmed.

In the notes below the signature are further examples where those in
charge have wrongly printed our AM scripture, thereby misguiding readers
and sadhakas alike.


                         BABA'S BLESSING

By Baba's grace He has beautifully recounted the life and history of the
spirited revolutionary Vireshvijaya. That epic story is told with so
much passion and force - the reader can tangibly feel the efforts,
trials, and courage of this great young man who bravely gave his life
for ideology. It is a great story for us all.

Yet it is undermined by the fact that in the culminating last paragraph,
the story is wrongly printed thereby sending a confusing if not
misguiding message to the reader. This mistake must be corrected at the
earliest.

Baba says, "The scriptures containing spiritual injunctions must be
totally flawless." (NSS, Disc: 14)

        Note 1: MUST TRANSLATE FROM THE ORIGINAL TEXT

Each and every AM discourse must be perfectly transcribed from the
original audio file into the original language and from there translated
into other languages. So a discourse originally delivered by Baba in
Hindi should be perfectly transcribed into Hindi directly and then from
that source document be translated into other languages.

At present, often times the English edition is looked upon as source
material for translation work. And that is fine when the original
discourse has been given by Baba in English. But when when the original
is in Hindi, Bengali, Telgu, or Spanish, then English should not be used
as the source. But it happens. This might be because no one is able to
translate directly from Hindi to Japanese or Swahili etc. Thus the
English edition is used as a stepping stone. So the English edition has
a big role to play at present. Unfortunately, when the English version
is incorrect, distorted or wrong, then that error will be transferred to
so many other editions. That is a major problem.

Again, the ideal manner is to have every book translated directly from
the original language. That should be our aim. Otherwise when there are
mistakes in translation into English, then those mistakes will multiply
and grow when other translations are made from the English text.


             Note 2: OTHER MISTAKES IN THE AM BOOKS

Tragically, there are countless publication mistakes and errors in our
AM books. The above problem with the last paragraph about the story of
Vireshvijay is not at isolated incident. Here are other grave problems
to be aware of:

            SCARED TO PRINT THAT AM IS 1ST PHILOSOPHY OF YOGA

1) Baba has clearly stated in English that AM is the first time that the
philosophy of yoga has been given. But this historic proclamation was
deleted from the printed discoruse.

                      FALSE CLAIMS OF WAR

2) Baba has clearly guided us that we are to be involved in all kinds of
noble deeds and high-minded work, yet the Publication department wrongly
printed that we are to be engaged in war, not work.

4) And like this there are dozens and dozens, or more correctly,
hundreds and hundreds, of critical errors in our AM scripture. Proper
effort needs to be made to catalog these errors and then those in
Publications must sincerely work to correct them, not falsely justify
their wrongdoing as in the case of the AM Revolution discourse.




                        PRABHAT SAMGIITA


"Sakal bha'ver a'dha'r tumi, toma'r na'me ja'i go mete..." - P.S. no. 787

Purport:

 Baba, You are the base of all ideations. By Your grace I am divinely
intoxicated in Your name and song. Within my lonely eyelids I have an
incessant desire to get You.
 Baba, the whole universe is filled with Your form. My mind is
resonating in Your tune and melody. In fact, all the rhythms and
all the songs have come on this earth to sing Your glory.
 Baba, the whole sky is filled with Your effulgence. Your august arrival
has changed darkness into effulgence. And the iron door of the jail is
pulverized into dust. All the dogma has disappeared. The whole universe
is filled with Your divine effulgence.
 Baba, everyone is ensconced in singing Your name...

             Unique Quality of Human Beings

Baba says, "The human mind has two functions--thinking and memorizing.
The more the thinking capacity increases the more the power of memory
develops. The nerve cells also change, leading to a corresponding change
in the nerve fibres. These changes create a stir and a revolution in the
world of thought." (PNS-8, p.17)

Namaskar,
Along with His infinite love, Baba has graciously given all the
requisite guidelines and mandates-- including how to translate His
discourses.

All should be aware then that Baba Himself has verily dictated a list of
key points for how to do translations of our AM books. And, for your
review, here are a few of those directives.


               ONE OF BABA'S KEY DIRECTIVES

DIRECTIVE FROM BABA: 'In the interim period until it is possible to
translate directly from the original language into all other languages
of the world, then English should be used as a middle step, i.e.
Original language of Discourse to English to Language of Publication.'

That means if Baba delivers a discourse in Hindi then if, at the time of
translation, it is not possible to translate directly from the Hindi
into a particular language like Chinese or Portuguese etc, then one
should translate from Hindi into English and then from English into
Chinese or Portuguese etc. That is the essence of Baba's expressed
guideline which He has dictated to Publications Dept.


                 UNPLEASANT TRUTH- PART 1

Unfortunately, right now, the unpleasant truth is that the faction most
involved in doing translations regularly transgresses His guideline.
This may be unpleasant to B group's ears, but the fact remains that they
translate nearly every discourse into Bengali first and then into the
targeted language. And that is not what Baba wants.

For instance, if a discourse was first given in English or Hindi, B
group's regular way is to put the discourse into Bengali and then
convert that into whatever the printed language will be. They will even
translate a Hindi discourse into Bengali and then back into Hindi--
thereby ruining the originality and integrity of Baba's expression.

Such is the case with the 1979 SAMBAPUR DMC PRAVACAN. It was given
originally in Hindi by Baba, yet the Tiljala faction translated it into
Bengali and then retranslated it back into Hindi. And then it was
printed in Hindi based on that faulty translation pattern. So even
though Baba has given the discourse in Hindi, the printed Hindi version
in no way resembles Baba's original spoken discourse. That is the shame
of it all.

And the same nonsense they do if Baba has originally given the discourse
in English.

That is the faulty way in which the Tiljala camp has done nearly all of
their translations. So they are (knowingly) going against Baba's system,
because they are well aware about Baba's directives in this regard. But
they overlook them. And, even worse, they are (mis)training all their
supporters to do the same.

That is why the more recent publication of Ananda Vacanamrtam part 9 - 10
and 11 - 12 are totally off the mark. Baba has given a particular guideline
and the B team went against it.

Of course other factions are also disobeying Baba's guidelines, but even worse
 B group is making faulty publications- knowingly - and that is mahapapa (terrible
sin) as they are altering Guru's scripture. Yet they broadcast that they are
the only ones who are faithful to Baba. Such is their hypocrisy.


              ANOTHER OF BABA'S KEY DIRECTIVES

Now let us take a look at another of Baba's directives about how to do
translation work.

DIRECTIVE FROM BABA: 'Never dilute the original by adding an extra step
of translation such as going from Hindi to Bangla to English to Spanish.

That means, if the discourse was given originally in Hindi and due to
limitations it cannot be translated directly into Spanish directly then
only English should be used as an intermediary step-- not any other
language like Bangla. There must not be TWO intermediary steps. That is
Baba's explicit dictum.


                   UNPLEASANT TRUTH- PART 2

Yet once again, although it may be unpleasant to their ears, this is the
faulty manner in which the Tiljala camp pursues all its translation
work. They continually insert extra steps into the translation process,
because they are only satisfied when Bengali gets used-- whether it is
needed or not. Thus, they totally overlook Baba's guidelines and warnings.


                  BABA'S FURTHERMORE WARNING

Baba has explicitly stated, in His translation mandates, that 20% of the
original essence of a discourse is lost when it gets translated. So we
should not add steps into that translation process. That is Baba's warning.

But time and again, the Tiljala crew transgresses Baba's mandate by
automatically translating everything first into Bangla. They know they
point about losing 20%-- as Baba told them directly. Even then, they do
not care. Or what else are we supposed to think.

Only if the original has been given in Bengali do they remotely follow
Baba's directives-- other than that they always betray His orders.

The B team has a deep penchant for putting all Baba's discourses into
Bangla, regardless. Plus in the case of Baba's original DMC discourses
which have been given in three languages, then the Tiljala heads
totally ignore the English and Hindi sections of Baba's discourse and
only translate the Bengali section, as if that is the whole. In that
case huge portions of the discourse are just lost-- never ever seeing the
printed page.

So these are some of the innumerable errors that are occurring on a
daily basis with regards to B group and their publications endeavors.


                      BABA'S BLESSING

By Baba's grace we must never lose hope. He has given all the necessary
guidelines and in the due course good devotees will ensure that Baba's
mandates are being followed. And verily, even now there are margiis and
wts who are keeping an active eye.

So it will not be long before all our AM Publications are done in the
proper way-- according to His guidelines. Right now, although it may
be unpleasant for them to hear, the B brigade only gives lip service to
this. Yet very soon, inevitably by His grace the good people in the
Marga will rise up and ensure that all His discourses are proper.
Because that is what Baba wants.

Baba says, "The scriptures containing spiritual injunctions must be
totally flawless." (NSS)

Note: Those aware about more of Baba's actual guidelines for
how to translate His books should write with more points. I have
heard that these guidelines are well known to the Tiljala faction so
for them this is but a reminder. And those who know more should
come forward so we can put forth a comprehensive list of
these directives. That is a necessary part of saving His
scripture.

The following paragraph is a summary of Baba's special teaching on the roles of both family people and wholetimers in our Ananda Marga.

Baba says, "What is the objective adjustment of sannyasis [AM Wts]? To help family people in their all-round development. And what is the subjective approach of the sannyasis? To do more sadhana [in comparison to ghriis]. Sannyasi means one should immerse oneself only in the thought and service of Parama Purusa. These two have to follow their duties. Sannyasis should follow their duties; and, family people should follow their duties. If you adopt this approach, you will be able to make one ideal human society. I see that the role of family people is very significant in Ananda Marga. There is a great need of LFT's. Because of their family responsibility those who cannot dedicate themselves fully can do part-time service and become LPT. In that case they should dedicate at least 5 minutes every day for service. Only engaging in subjective approach [one's own sadhana] or only  engaging in objective adjustment [one's own family life] is not good." (Summary of Baba's Teaching)

                              IN AM FAMILY PEOPLE HAVE THEIR PLACE

AM society is comprised of both family people and sannyasis, i.e. Wts. And Baba has given a unique role for each to play. These roles are very revolutionary and unlike any of the dogmatic religions. In all of the religions, family people are basically 2nd class citizens. They have hardly any role at all. All the power is with the priest class. Family people just obey the orders of the clergy like sheep or slaves. Our Ananda Marga is totally different. In Ananda Marga, Baba has given family people their rightful place in the running of AM society.


                                       STUNG BY IMPOSED SAMSKARA

The question arises then, when family people have been given a distinct role in our AM way of life, why is it that family people always take a backseat to Wts in running the organisation.

Here is the reply.

In AM philosophy, Baba describes different kinds of samskaras, one of which is an imposed samskara. And it is that type of samskara that is hurting us right now. An imposed samskara is when we get indoctrinated into the dogmas and trends of the greater general society. That is what has happened in AM with regards to the relationship between Wts and family margiis.

Since almost all the religions suffering from priestocracy etc, that same dogma is in AM in most parts of the world. Neither does the priest class want to empower the family people, nor do family people feel comfortable having any role.

It is just like if you ask one so-called Harijan in the remote village to sit on an equal chair, then bound by their inferiority comples they will say that, "I am comfortable on the ground." Here below Baba further describes this type of mentality.

Baba says, "The headmaster of a Harijan school once asked a student to fetch him some drinking water, but the boy did not move. Instead he asked a non-Harijan friend in a low voice to do as the headmaster requested. But the headmaster intervened and asked the boy why he would not comply with the request. The student replied, “Sir, I am an untouchable by caste. How can you drink water touched by me?” This is an example of how repression can bring about a change in the psychic structure." In a similar manner, some or most of the family people in our Marga suffer from the same type of inferiority complex as those hairjans. Family people feel unworthy of a proper role in AM. That is the dogma or imposed samskara that has been dragged into AM.


                                    BABA HAS GIVEN DISTINCT ROLES

By Baba's grace He has cleared up that situation and everyone should be aware of Baba's stand.

Baba has given each a role to play: Family people and sannyasis. The duty of each has been allotted. We do not have any option. What Guru says we should follow.

Sannyasis have only one family (i.e. the greater universal family) they have to do more sadhana and help others in their development / 16 Pts. They should not drown in all kinds of vices including self-indulgence.

And family people have two families (unit and cosmic) and must participate in organisational life and serve the society. That is their dharma.


                                      BEWARE: DO NOT BE LIKE ANIMALS

If either family margiis or Wts do not pay heed to Baba's aforementioned guideline, then they may be no better than animals.

For instance, the status of those family margiis totally indulged in their unit family life is like that of an animal. Why? Because even wild animals, especially mammals, have their own family and attend to their responsibilities. So if one family person does like this and neglects the greater universal family, they are not human.

Likewise if a sannyasi is engrossed in their own luxuries, material wealth, and selfishness, they are also like a beast.


                                          BABA'S BLESSING

Baba has made it very clear what our duties are. We are to follow our allotted duty and fulfill our human dharma.

Purport:

Baba, You are ever gracious. I was asking for an iota of Your divine grace and You have showered me with the endless flow of Your infinite karuna [1]. Living in this world, in the ocean of sorrow, everything is transitory; it cannot give us eternal happiness. Baba, I wanted You to bless me with a wee-bit of Your divine grace and a'nandam. And You have showered me in the causeless compassion of Your varabhaya mudra. Baba, You have completely flooded my entire being. Your infinite grace is boundless.

With the passage of time, so many jiivas come and go in this srsti (creation). In this panoramic cycle of life and death, so many jiivas come and go. They are unable to remember you constantly. O' Baba, You keep careful watch over one and all - unit and vast. You witness everything. Everything occurs under Your divine witnesship. Baba, You care for everyone via your ota and prota yoga.

O' Parama Puruas, You are the ocean of love. By Your grace You have removed all cimmerian darkness and negative samskaras. You have graciously removed the bondages and showered me with Your effulgence. With the warm, loving touch of Your heart, with the flow of nectar, You have showered Your grace and this whole universe became dhanya [2]. Baba, You blessed all with Your infinite grace.

Baba, I surrender to Your lotus feet...

[1] Karuna': (Literally: 'Divine Compassion'); When Parama Purus'a sees the suffering of devotees, then He feels pained by how they are unable to move ahead on the spiritual path due to getting caught up in various problems and difficulties. In such circumstances, Parama Purusa cannot bear to watch His bhaktas go through so much struggle and strife. So in their helpless condition, when devotees are trying hard to progress but their pathway is completely obstructed and they cannot advance in their sadhana or spiritual life-- and again and again they are overcome by various complexes, bondages, and obstacles-- then by seeing His devotees beleaguered in this way, Parama Purus'a Himself comes and graces them. With His immense feeling of karuna' (divine compassion), Parama Purusa blesses His devotees and relieves them of their pain and suffering. This special grace is nothing but His divine karuna': Wherein Parama Purus'a graces the devotees and removes their troubles and hindrances so that once again they can move ahead freely on the path of spiritual salvation.

[2] Dhanya: This means successful in the spiritual sphere in the form of reaching your Goal, reaching your Destination, attaining Parama Puruaa. Baba blesses us with this idea at the conclusion of all His devotional discourses. It is His special blessing for spiritual victory and reaching Him.

Baba says, "He is with you – He will give you proper direction so that with His gospels for the salvation of the universal creation, you will reach your goal without much difficulty. He will do what is necessary. You just go on obeying Him, just go on doing His work and adhere to what He says with all your energy. Let the speed of His introversial thinking be accelerated by your noble actions and by your spiritual pursuits. Let that golden day come at the earliest and make your life effulgent." (SS-18)
