Namaskar,
With the economic crisis deepening, worsening, and ricocheting all
around the planet we are seeing and hearing so many cries for help as
well as so many false solutions.
From Bush's recent G-20 Summit, to xyz stimulus initiative, to such and
such bailout, so many tricks of the trade are being employed-- all for
naught.
Indeed, each proposed solution thus far has been a dud, i.e. totally
impotent. The reason being that they all are band-aid propositions that
fail to address the root cause.
WHAT IS THE ROOT CAUSE
What is the root cause of the problem: By its very nature, capitalism
and its free market economic is based upon exploitation. The wealthy
will always look to get more rich at the expense of the masses.
Baba says, "If capital is concentrated in the hands of a few individuals
or the state, most people will be exploited by a handful of exploiters.
As a result of this process of severe exploitation, a serious explosion
takes place. This explosion is known as a depression in the economic
world." (AFPS-9)
Thus in the greedy free-market economy, the money will always be locked
up in the hands of the few, and the common people will always struggle
for survival, never having enough money to manage their basic needs:
Food, housing, medical care, clothing, etc. When people have not a
single penny to spend, then this downward cycle stops the money from
rolling and deepens the depression.
All the above Baba has detailed in various discourses, 'Keep the Money
Rolling' (Section A & B), 'Economic Depressions, 'Economic Dynamics',
'Cooperatives' etc.
THE FAILED G-20 SUMMIT
So the root cause of the problem is ongoing economic exploitation by the
mighty capitalists. The vaeshyan era has now reached its peak where each
and every nook and cranny of this earth is bound up in the noose of
capitalism. But the leaders are not at all willing to get rid of this
very exploitation system.
The recent G-20 summit closed with all kinds of fuzzy, hazy agreements
that was more tall talk than anything else.
The only thing they did stipulate was: "Reforms within a framework of
free and open markets."
Thus, the one thing that all current politico-cum-economico leaders all
agree upon is that capitalism itself should continue on and on. The very
exploitative system that is the root cause is the one thing that they
are all vowing to save. That is the irony.
Until, sufficient consciousness is raised among the masses, such
rhetoric and planning will go on and on.
THE FAILED BAILOUT
As all are aware, the US has put forth a 700 billion dollar bailout. As
each and every day passes, it becomes more and more clear that there is
no clear-cut strategy for how to use this money, nor how to solve the
problem.
In their typical, superficial manner, the said leaders thought that the
mere mention of 700 billion dollars would be enough to jump-start the
economy.
But when most of those funds are going to executives, brokerage houses,
and the like, then where is the relief for the common people. Instead,
those corporate executives just continue in their ingrained, habitual
ways of wasting money and using it for their own luxuries.
"First there was the $440,000 American Insurance Group Inc. spent
entertaining executives days after receiving an $85 billion lifeline
from the Federal Reserve, now it's $86,000 for a hunting trip in England
as the faltering company reaped another $37.8 billion in taxpayer
funded loans." (16 Oct 2008)
Thus when those top capitalists have total disregard for the plight of
the people and only know one way of living-- i.e. exploiting others for
their own selfish gain-- then there is no way that any stimulus program
or any other economic initiative within the capitalist framework can do
an ounce of good.
Always the people will be living from hand to mouth, unable to feed
their young ones, unable to afford health-care or education, indeed
unable to survive on this earth, while top executive live off the
fat of the land.
BABA'S BLESSING
When the very aim of the G-20 summit and so many other so-called
solutions is to promote "reforms within a framework of free and open
markets", then we know that all their plans will fail. They will never
be able to resolve the problem and bring relief to the common people.
Only the service oriented ways of Prout are the solution to this
embattled economic scenario. This is a grand topic. We should think,
write, and share how we can bring relief in our locale and spread the
name and ways of Prout across the globe.
Baba says, "Depression is not a natural phenomenon. Pause is a
natural phenomenon. In a Proutistic structure pause may occur but
depression will not occur. To save society from depression, the approach
of PROUT is to increase purchasing power by increasing production,
reduce disparities in the value of wealth, and increase the circulation
of money; that is, by keeping money rolling. Empty slogans will not do.
Attention will have to be given to increasing the level of production."
"In capitalist and communist countries, the mode of production is
defective. In capitalist countries, labour does not work in the interest
of the management and management does not allow the rolling of money due
to the concentration of wealth. In communist countries, labour does not
feel one with the job and that is why there is sluggish production."
"The cooperative model of PROUT is free from both sets of defects.
PROUT is well-adjusted with human ideals and sentiments. Other
socio-economic systems are ultravires to human existence and all-round
elevation."
