Baba
"A'ka'shabhara' a'jake ta'ra'..." (P.S. 2523)
Purport:
The sky of this amavasya night is filled with the stars. The sweet
breeze, like nectar, is blowing mildly. The mind is floating from the
known to the unknown world in divine ecstasy-- towards its destination.
Ensconced in His ideation, my mind is getting lost. The lily flower is
constantly looking towards the sky; the aroma of flowers is emanating
all around. They have forgotten their awareness about their own
existence. And remain restless in the attraction of one call. In Your
longing I am sitting alone and counting the stars. I understand that by
Your grace I have lost myself in this beautiful atmosphere and the
attraction of Your love. You are ever gracious You are always remaining
by my side and guiding me. Baba, on this amavasya night my heart is
yearning and longing for You...
== THIEF INSIDE THE HOUSE ==
~ PART 2 ~
Namaskar,
Anyone even a wee-bit familiar with Baba's pravacans knows that the
explanation of Sanskrit words is a key element of His discourses. Most
every discourse is centered around either a Sanskrit word or a Sanskrit
shloka. One can pick up any AM book and randomly open to any discourse
and witness this fact.
Plus in so many discourses Baba has given example after example how
Sanskrit is the mother of all modern languages and is related to all the
spoken tongues of the world. This fact He has emphasized and reiterated
again and again throughout His teachings.
So although Baba had enormous responsibilities and His life was
extremely busy, He has given a tremendous amount of time to the
understanding, explanation, and study of Sanskrit. All because He knows
Sanskrit is instrumental for the development of a healthy human society.
Baba says, "If Sam'skrta is used human unity will be encouraged and
human beings will move closer together. See how sweet the link is
between Vedic, Sam'skrta and the other classical languages of the world?
So you should encourage the study of Sam'skrta." (PNS-17)
Here the chief point is that if people from various language background
come to know that their various languages are all related with Sanskrit,
then they will embrace this commonality and forget their external
differences. That is Sanskrit is a unifying force.
Hence, because of its universal quality, Baba has given a special place
to Sanskrit, as it will help heal the wounds of humanity and bring a
about a brighter human society.
CONCRETE PROOF OF SANSKRIT'S LINK
Here, in this following discourse, is concrete and irrefutable proof of
the deep and dynamic link Sanskrit has with so many languages.
Basically Baba is telling that Vedic Sanskrit is the starting point or
the top of the pyramid. And from that came two languages: (1) Prakrta &
(2) Latin. And from Prakrta there came all the languages of India. So
Prakrta which is a descendant of Vedic Sanskrta has many, many daughters
and granddaughters such as Magahii, Bhojpuri, Oriya, Bengali, Gujurati,
Hindi etc. And from Latin there came two distinct groups (a)
Oriento-demi & (b) Occidental demi. The former led to the formation of
French and Italian and the latter resulted in Spanish and Portuguese. Thus
Vedic Sanskrit is the starting point of so many of the world's languages.
And all this Baba spoke while in Valencia, Spain on 30 May '79
because He wanted Spanish and overseas margiis to know that Vedic
Sanskrit is the grandmother of their native language(s).
Baba says, "In Sam'skrta and Pra'krta – the Sam'skrta language was
spoken by the Aryan people from 15,000 years ago to 5,000 years ago, for
a long range of 10,000 years, and Pra'krta from 5,000 years ago to 2,000
years ago, that is, for a period of about 3,000 years. In Lord Buddha’s
period, distorted Pra'krta was the common mass language, that is, the
people’s language. In the later Sam'skrta, you may say Demi-Sam'skrta –
it’s another sister, that is a daughter of Vedic Sam'skrta.
Latin also has two offshoots: one is Oriento-demi-Latin, and the other
Occidento-demi-Latin. Oriento-demi-Latin languages are French and
Italian, and Occidento-demi-Latin are Spanish and Portuguese. Latin is
the source – was the source. Similarly in Lord Buddha’s time the
language was Demi-Prakrta.)" (Valencia, Spain 30 May '79 EGD)
Then furthermore Baba clearly tells how Sanskrit is the mother of all
the Asian languages as well.
Baba says, "Sam'skrta is a classical subject as well as an ancient
language. It is the mother of all the mother languages of South Asia and
Southeast Asia." (PNS-17, p. 62)
Plus it is Sanskrit is the root of so many Arabic & Middle-Eastern words.
Baba says, "Silik in Arabic means 'fine fibre'. The fine fibres that
came to Bengal from China were given the Sanskrit name ciina'm'shuka.
This cinna'm'shuka was given the Farsi name resham and the Arabic name
silk. Arab merchants used to export this cinna'm'shuka to the markets of
Europe. When they were heard saying the Arabic word in Europe, cinna'm'shuka
became 'silk' with the help of a little fault pronunciation." (VV, p. 35)
Thus Sanskrit is one very special unifying language that is related with
so many major and minor language groups of the world. So it is an
essential element for creating human unity and indeed it is for this
very reason that Baba has given us all Sanskrit names.
Baba says, "At the time of initiation or shortly afterwards, those who
do not have a Sanskrit name should be given one by the a'ca'rya/a'." (CC-1)
So verily Sanskrit holds a tremendous place in both or AM and global
societies. It is the linking point among all.
THE ESSENCE OF HIS GRAMMAR BOOK SERIES
And that is why Baba has focused on Sanskrit grammar and erudition in so
many books starting with "Prabhat Ranjain's Sarkar's Grammar Book (parts
1-3). This is a massive edition that totals hundreds and thousands of
pages. Thereafter Baba followed up this study with His books: Varna
Vijiana, Varna Vicitra, and Shabda Cayanika-- in that order.
So from head to toe all these publications focus on Sanskrit and its
relation with the various languages of the globe. There is no denying
this fact and anyone with just a little bit of mental clarity can easily
realise this truth.
Through it all Baba is explaining Sanskrit grammar, relating it with
other languages, and creating new vocabulary so that Sanskrit can be
used everywhere around the globe. And verily this is already happening
as words like Guru, dharma, mantra, karma, and so many others have been
incorporated to languages all over the globe.
And on the top, let us not forget this sacred guideline from Baba.
Baba says, "If Sam'skrta is used human unity will be encouraged and
human beings will move closer together. See how sweet the link is
between Vedic, Sam'skrta and the other classical languages of the world?
So you should encourage the study of Sam'skrta." (PNS-17)
THIEF INSIDE THE HOUSE
Unfortunately, one team is adamantly against Baba's place. Certain
Bengali heads have it in mind to undo Baba's glorious portrayal of
Sanskrit and instead replace it with their own tongue-- Bengali. This is
their narrow-minded agenda. That is why on the back of the Shabda
Cayanika book they wrote that the book is about the Bengali language.
But this is just not so. That is why many are saying that such Dadas are
just like thieves inside the house. Because they reside in our Marga yet
side by side try to toss aside Guru's teachings and instead implement
their own thing, i.e. the Bangalisation of AM.
For this reason many are saying that in the dark of the night some of
these Bengalis are just putting their own signboard on Baba's universal
mission of Ananda Marga.
Here it should also be stated that prior to 1990, none of the printed
Shabda Cayanika editions stated on the back cover that the book was
about the Bengali language. This "gift" only started happening after
1990, when such opportunists felt they could get away with it. Indeed,
this Bangalisation strategy was spear-headed by Sarvatmananda and,
unfortunately, it also included his lackey Acyutananda. Without Dada A's
support, all that nonsense would never have found its way onto the back
of the Shabda Cayanika book.
RECTIFYING THE MATTER
So from top to bottom this is all one terrible problem that ultimately
needs to be untwisted, rectified, and resolved. And those at fault
should admit their guilt and ask for punishment-- and not continue to
stand on their own silly arrogance.
Our Ananda Marga is about Baba and His universal teachings-- nothing
else. And no one should be allowed to step in and intercede in this
process by putting their dirty finger prints on Baba's blemishless
ideology.
NOT A HATER OF.....
By reading this some may accuse me of being a hater of Bengalis. But
that just is not so. Consider this.
In His dharmic teachings, Baba has spoken the truth about communists and
their suppressive tactics etc, and by reading this some naive communists
may think that Baba is a communist hater. But of course it is not like
that. Only Baba is against those who exploit others-- as those communist
leaders did.
Furthermore, in His various discourses, Baba has spoken about the Indian
brahmins and their caste supremacy, and by reading this naive some
Indian brahmins may think that Baba is a hater of Brahmins. But of
course it is not like that. Only Baba is pointing out how those brahmins
have exploited the so-called lower classes.
Plus Baba has spoken openly about the deplorable situation of women in
the Muslim world. By reading this some naive Muslims may conclude that
Baba is a hater of all Muslims, but it is not like that. Only Baba is
opposed to the ideas that women should be 3rd class citizens.
Similarly in this letter we are talking about certain Bengalis, and in
response some naive people may think in their shallow way that we are
Bengali haters etc. But that is not the point at hand. Just I do not
wish to the universal mission of AM tainted and ruined by Bangalisation.
So those naive people who think that I am a Bengali hater do not want to
see the veracity of the situation.
Right now, such Bengalis are putting their Bengali signboard on our AM
mission. And if one person put their own sign on a neighbor's house in
the dark of the night, then surely in the morning when the neighbor
wakes up and sees what was done then he will be angry and upset--
justifiably so. Likewise, when we look around and see what nonsense
various Bengalis have done and are doing to our AM mission, then
naturally we do not want to tolerate this. One is justified to oppose
their ugly agenda.
Bengali is nothing but the respected granddaughter of Sanskrit, just
like so many other languages are. And if any of these granddaughters--
like Hindi, Bhojpuri, Oriya, French, Portuguese, etc-- tried to proclaim
themselves as the original grandmother then that would be chaotic and
just plain wrong. Yet that is what certain Bengalis are trying to do.
FULL REGARD FOR BENGALI
All in all, I have full regard for the Bengali culture and language. I
have learned Bengali so I may sing Prabhat Samgiita and listen to Baba's
Bengali discourses. So I have deep appreciation for the Bengali
language-- it is as beautiful as any other language on this earth.
Only it is not good that one language should gain hegemony over other
languages-- and that is what certain Bengali Dadas are trying to do. And
in the process they are spoiling Baba's divine teachings.
So this must not be allowed to continue. We must not sit still and watch
this happen.
On the whole this is a huge topic and there is more to say but this is
what I have written today, with the Lord's grace.
BABA'S BLESSING
By Baba's grace, we will untangle all these knots of Bangalisation etc
and use Sanskrit to create a brilliant human society, as per Baba's wish.
Baba says, "A perfect state of balance will be established between
individuals and the collectivity, and between the collectivity and the
Cosmos." (AFPS-8)
Namaskar,
Ramanuj

Food Problems and Their Solution II
Baba says, "In the event of shortages in the food and accommodation of
the population of the world, people will convert uncultivated land into
new arable land, increase the productivity of the soil by scientific
methods, produce food by chemical processes with earth, water and air,
and if this earth decreases in its productivity, then land seeking human
beings will migrate to different planets and satellites and settle
there." (PNS-13, p.45)
