Don't Divide...Keep Unified

Subject: Don't Divide...Keep Unified
Baba
"Jyoti-ujjval pra'n'occhal tumi priya..." (P.S. 2229)
Purport:
Baba, O Parama Purusa, You are the controller of the universe. You are
the brilliant effulgence-- full of vitality & saturated with the love.
Baba, You are my dearmost. By Your own glory You are glorified; O Parama
Purusa You are ever-adorable.
Baba, I do not have the strength to catch hold of You. With my little
strength and with whatever means I have, I try to catch You-- but it is
impossible for me. Instead I remain engrossed in my own self-- unit "I".
This 'unit I' is preventing me from coming close to You. Baba, please
transform my 'I-feeling', make it Yours.
With my own strength I will not be able to get You. With the thread of
the spider's web I will not be able to bind You and hold You. Because of
this, please by Your causeless grace, please allow Yourself to get held.
This is my only request to You. Please keep this open for Your consideration.
Baba, in my mind, in my heart, I have deep longing for You-- to have
You. Please grant me this by Your causeless grace. Please come in my
shravan, manan, niddidhyasan, & dhyana and make me Yours...
== DON'T DIVIDE...KEEP UNIFIED ==
Namaskar,
Certainly in the near future our AM society will be one shining example for
all the world to see. That is sure.
But by looking around nowadays it is quite evident that the current state
of our AMPS is not up to the proper standard, i.e. not up to Baba's
standard. In such circumstances, we have full right then to raise the
matter and make efforts to correct and solve the problems. That much every
Ananda Margii has the right to do.
But to take it upon oneself to divide the organisation or incite further
division-- that is the worst type of maneuver. Unfortunately various group
leaders are involved in this nasty scheme.
WHY DIVISION HAS NO SENSE
For example, just picture this. Suppose someone has a headache. In that
condition, for them to chop off their own head is not the solution. Rather
they should be given some medicine in order to relieve their headache.
NOWADAYS IN AMPS
Similarly, nowadays our organisation is also in problem. And certain
separatist groups want to divide AMPS and by their divisive propaganda some
innocent people are swayed. Even then those separatists attempt to claim
that they are not dividing. Because even to their selfish ears it sounds
harsh. So they try to cover it up. That is what some camps are doing.
Then of course in the other corner, the current so-called administration is
far, far off the track. That much is also obvious. Even then the bottom
line is that splitting AMPS into pieces will make things more chaotic, not
better. Maintaining unity is our way.
TWO AVENUES BY WHICH TO PROCEED
Thus we should follow Baba's teaching in both the directions. That is those
who are sitting in the top chairs should be forced to adhere to Baba's
guidelines. This much we can certainly demand. And by external pressure
they will be forced to change to exit the post. That is half the equation.
Then on the other side we should ensure that no one divides or further
divides the organisation. And that is one extremely critical point about
which Baba has warned us numerous times: "Don't Divide...Keep Unified".
SOME SCENARIOS TO CONSIDER
Here further are more circumstances and we should see to what degree these
are consistent with Baba's teachings or not.
1. Should we allow that in each and every country there will be a different
Ananda Marga. Is this consistent with Baba's teachings of forming one human
society.
2. By dividing His organisation how far are we obeying Ista. And if we are
not following Baba's ideal, then how is He going to be pleased and how will
we establish His mission.
3. Always Baba is in our heart, mind, and soul, He is everything. Yet His
most basic, mandatory teaching about unity has gotten overlooked. Because
some groupist bandits have started their own very negative nefarious trend
of division. And some selfish ACB members and innocent persons have gotten
swept up into that division flow. Around town a few passive witnesses are
just speechless thinking that it is fine. But we should think again about
whether this is really okay or not.
4. Now in this ultra-modern society people are more free to do as they
like, but we should see how far we are following Baba's teaching. That is
our approach: Following Guru, not individualistic or selfish schemas.
5. If we do not attempt to clean the organisation and instead just divide
it, such that in each and every country there is separate AM-- then how can
we be confirmed that in those countries AM will not get divided.
And if AMPS does get divided in each and every country then in the near
future each and every state will have its own organisation with the same
name-- AM.
And when that state level AMPS cannot be maintained then each and every
block or village will have its separate organisation.
And one step further by dividing AMPS again then indeed each and every
individual will have their own AM organisation. In this way the approach of
dividing goes on and on.
6. Nowadays in this ultra-modern era to do anything great, unity is needed.
That is why in all the realms of life people are trying to unite. Even
selfish people are uniting such that political factions and corporations
are merging together, for their own selfish interest. This we see happening
every day-- because even crude, capitalistic people understand that unity
is the only answer. That is the only pathway to success
7. Without one human society, humanity's problems cannot be solved. Nor can
the problems of AMPS be solved.
8. So we have to see how far those involved in division are correct-- or
not. We should see how far they are following Baba's ideals by dividing the
organisation.
BABA'S GOLDEN GUIDELINES
On this entire issue here following are some of Baba's significant teachings:
Baba says, "The unity of A'nanda Ma'rgiis should not be allowed to be
jeopardised for any reason. Unity should be maintained even at the risk of
your life." (CC, part II, 'Society' chapter, point #13)
Baba says, "Always remain united and organised. Solve all problems big and
small in a united way. Advise every Ananda Margii to remain united at all
times." (Point #31 of '32 Rules for Avadhu'tas')
Baba says, "Human Society is one and indivisible, don't try to divide it.
Each and every individual should be looked upon as the manifestation of the
Cosmic Entity." (Ananda Vanii, #21)
Baba says, "Unity among the members of any society or social structure is
absolutely necessary otherwise the structure will start disintegrating.
Lack of unity among the members of society because of too much
self-interest in the individual members, the formation of groups for
economic or social advantage...not only brings about the downfall of
society but also completely wipes it off from the face of the earth."
(PNS-3, p.42)
Baba says, "Those who indulged in vain criticism and slandering instead of
trying to remove the factors diving the human race, created even more
problems for society. That's why there is more disunity than unity in the
human society today." (Human Society is One and Indivisible-2)
Baba says, "The marching together of all in unison is termed as the
society..." (Ananda Vanii, #24)
Baba says, "The entire society of A'nanda Ma'rga is founded on a common
ideal, the goal of becoming one with Brahma...the unity in a society
founded on the ideal of Brahma will be everlasting." (PNS-3)
Baba says, "Remaining together is natural for you, and to remain disunited
is something unnatural. You know well that unnaturality is not tolerated by
Prakrti. Unnaturality is ultimately destroyed. So it is natural for human
beings to live together and to make a great Universe. By not doing so, and
by mutual fight, all will be destroyed. This is the law of Prakrti. Hence,
united you will have to remain, this is your duty. So that the people of
the world may remain united, it is your duty to bring the Mahavishva as
soon as possible." (MHB, p. 53)
Baba says, "The only way to establish universalism is to bring about mental
expansion through spiritual practice. The inculcation of the spiritual
outlook will not only strengthen the boundaries between nations but will
lead to the establishment of a universal state, a global nation, with a
common thread of unity and aspiration. That nation will be known as the
human nation." (AFPS-2)
Baba says, "The following ensures unity in society-- a common ideal, a
casteless society, collective social functions and no capital punishment."
(PNS-3)
Here Baba guides us what our outlook should be:
"We are all the children of the same Father, we are all members of the same
family. By fighting against all kinds of evil forces, we will establish the
glory of our Father and the glory of our family." (Point #13 of 'Fourteen
Points')
Baba says, "Continuously inspire and encourage the common bonds of unity
and thus strengthen humanity. Only then will the human society become one
and indivisible. Only then will it be worthy of being called a 'human
society'." (Prout-7, p. 27)
In this important time, we should deeply reflect upon & follow Guru's
mandates.
BABA'S BLESSING
Baba says, "There will be peace and happiness in the Universe, and,
established in one indivisible ideology, humanity will march ahead toward
the Supreme Goal. Victory be with you!" (MHB)
Namaskar,
Gurucharan
Note 1: DEVOTION IS THE KEY POINT
In times like these, certain people get caught up in a dilemma. Means they
do not know what to do; they are unsure how to proceed. In that case, such
persons-- those lacking in devotion-- get swayed by one or another
justifications or false reasoning etc. And in that way they end up
following the negative path
In comparison, those more linked with Ista, those more established in
devotion get some internal pull in the right direction. Or some feeling of
suffocation comes which makes them feel averse to the negative path. So in
both the conditions they are saved. Means for some or other reason they do
not get lulled into following any negative party. And inside their heart
gets more and more attracted dharmic ideals. This is how it works for
devotees.
But for those more externally oriented-- those with less devotion-they
cannot decide for themselves how to escape from the dilemma, the quandary.
Nor are they capable of receiving any guideline from within. In that
confusion then they instead rely on faulty propaganda and in that way they
get latched up with the wrong path.
Whereas devotees get internal guidelines that keeps them on the path of
dharma. Like this, dharma has its own special way of working. Indeed Baba
guides us dharma works secretly.
So when one is caught in dilemma and the mind gets fused by all the logic
and reasoning, then best is to see with the heart, i.e. with the inner
human feeling which is based on benevolence and welfare to all. Means those
with a devotional heart will move in the dharmic way.
Note 2: DIVINE EXAMPLE: PAST AND CURRENT
In the past Lord Krsna's stated purpose was to bring together all the
disparate parts of the then fractured India:
Baba says, "Lord Krsna thought that if He combined all [the separate
kingdoms] there would be collective spirit in the true sense of the term."
(MHB, p.7)
And likewise today Baba Himself has sent out the clarion call to build up
one unified human society. So Baba's expressed purpose is to unify the
entire humanity.
Note 3: THE ONENESS OF HUMANITY
Here again Baba is reminding us of the oneness of humanity.
"Ja'gat juriya' ek ja'te a'che..."
Baba says, "Throughout the world there is only one race. Its name is the
Human Race. All are nourished with the same milk of Mother Earth. The sun
and the moon are the companions of all." (PNS-7, p. 18)

Mecca Pilgrimage
Baba says, "People generally want to live without intense sadhana in the
spiritual sphere and without much effort in the mundane sphere. When people
seek to acquire fortune or attain salvation without proper effort, then
they try to remove their sins by visiting the so-called holy places." (NSS)
Note 1: Right now the Haj or holy pilgrimage has begun for the Muslims as
they make their way to Mecca. In their dogmatic view, they think that
reaching to Mecca means getting closer to God. For this reason, millions of
Muslims engage every year in this tour to Mecca. And tragically it is not
uncommon for some or more to be stampeded to death. Rather than rectifying
this problem those Muslims simply believe that those who died in the
stampede reached directly to heaven. This is their misguided outlook.
Hindus have a similar viewpoint with regards to the Khumba Mela. Of course
in AM, on various levels we feel that such pilgrimages are terribly
detrimental. That is why in AM we do not have any tiirthas; we do not
subscribe to the holy land syndrome. That is the basic difference: by going
to Mecca Muslims feel they are coming closer to God whereas in AM we feel
always close God since He is in our heart. Unfortunately the followers of
the dogmatic religions do not understand this slightly subtle point.
Note 2: It is well known that Muslims always pray facing towards Mecca.
Because the earth spins on it axis as well as revolves around the sun, this
practice of facing towards Mecca could become problematic when Islamic
people start living on the Moon or on other planets etc. What do you think.
