Baba

"Apa'r ananta tumi ki va' ja'ni a'mi, toma'r krpa'y mor din cale ja'y..."  PS# 2147

Purport:

O' Parama Purusa, O' Baba, You are endless and infinite, but how can I understand this fact when I myself am not merged in that -- when I myself am not infinite and vast. O' Lord, even then my days are passing only by Your
grace.

Baba, by taking Your name and singing Your song, I am moving along on Your divine path according to Your desire. My existence moves on in Your flow.

Baba, I love You - by singing Your name, I laugh and cry, by Your grace. Baba, for Your work, I come onto this earth again and again. The way You want my life to proceed, I will go on making it like that, according to Your desire.

The discussion of scripture, philosophy, and science do not reach up to You. By this way one cannot get any clue about You, indeed not any trace. Always these approaches fall far short of the mark, far below Your divine stature.

Baba, according to Your desire everything happens. Everything happens due to Your karuna', due to Your immense compassion. O' Parama Purusa, O' Baba, You are infinite, beginningless, and endless. And by singing Your name and chanting Your song, my whole life is passing according to Your direction...

== MISTER OR SHRII ==

Namaskar,
Here is one of Baba's key guidelines that we should apply in our day to day life.

Baba says, "The Samskrta word Shrii means 'the most charming personality'. The word 'shrii' is derived from sha + ra + uniis. 'Sha' is the acoustic root of the mutative principle, and 'ra' is the acoustic root of energy. With the help of these two things, 'sha' plus 'ra', human beings are moving, dancing, speaking, and doing so many things. Obviously they need 'sha' and 'ra' very much. The Supreme abode of 'shrii' is Parama Purus'a." (Subhasita Samgraha - 12, p.4)

In this above teaching, Baba is describing the meaning of 'Shrii' so that we can understand why we call Him 'Shrii Shrii Anandamurtiji'-- not 'Mr. Anandamurtiji'.  Naturally in our life we should then address Him in the way which He likes to be called.

However, because of their dogmatic beliefs, some jinanis prefer the term 'Mister Sarkar' or even just plain 'Sarkar' instead of 'Shrii'. In some of their publications they have written like that. In that case we should gently try to make them aware about their dogma. And then take a firmer stance as needed.

The central idea is that 'Shrii' is a very meaningful term and we should most certainly use this when addressing our Beloved Guru - Shrii Shrii Anandamurti ji.

In addition, everyone should use the term 'Shrii' (once) before their own name as well. This is also Baba's direct teaching.

Namaskar,
Candra

Two Names, One Divine Entity

== TWO NAMES, ONE DIVINE ENTITY ==

Namaskar,
On and off the topic comes about why some of our AM books are signed as Shrii PR Sarkar whereas other books are signed as Shrii Shrii Anandamurtiji. People were going back and forth wondering if these are two personalities or one personality.

In addition there is general confusion about this as some think and distrbute their propaganda that Shrii PR Sarkar and Shrii Shrii  Anandamurtiji are two different entities.

So here are some points related with this question:

SHRII PR SARKAR & SHRII SHRII ANANDAMURTIJI:

ONE AND THE SAME

(1) Look at it this way, Shrii PR Sarkar and Shrii Shrii Anandamurtiji certainly refer to one singular Entity.

For example, in the mundane sphere it is just like the situation of my mother. I call her mother; my sons and daughters call grandmother or grandma; my cousin calls here Aunty. And like this it goes on. But that does not mean that mother is really three different personalities or more. And further when she was working in office she has her official designation also. Official persons were calling her yet a different name. So that
single personality, my mother, has so many names according to their relation and work. And indeed this is the case with most people. According to the situation they have a given name, yet all along they are the same person and personality.

MULTIPLES NAMES - ONE PERSON

(2) Baba's following graphic example is moving in this same direction:

Baba says, "I told you that the same man, Ramajiivana, is known as Rama to his father, as Ramu at work - and his children say `Babujii', and his students `Master Sahib'. and when he is moving along the street wearing a topii, the taungavala will say ,`Hey topii! Hey topii! Hey topii! He becomes a topii. But the man is that single man Rama." (Ananda Vacanamrtam, Part 3)

So here again Baba is guiding us that it is very common for one entity, like Ramajiivana, to have several different names. But all along Ramajiivana is but one entity.

PARAMA PURUSA HAS AN INFINITE NUMBER OF NAMES

BUT HE IS ONE DIVINE PERSONALITY

(3) Who does not know that Parama Purus'a has an infinite number of names. He has so many names because He has an infinite number of attributions. Each attribution carries a different name. In an Ananda Vacanamrtam discourse,

Baba says, "So Paramashiva, the Sadguru and Ta'raka Brahma are beyond the scope of the gun'atrikon'a... O Lord, Thou are the controller of everything, but there is nobody to control You. Your gun'as are beyond the scope of counting. Nobody can count how many gun'as are there. " (Ananda Vacanamrtam, part 3, 'Sadgurum Tvam Namami', p.46)

Despite the fact that Parama Purusa has so many gun'as (attributions) & hence so many names, no rational person thinks that those names refer to different divine entities. Rather all those names refer to Him, that singular Parama Purusa.

(4) Seer, poet & devotee Padmadanta expressed a similar idea. When devotees asked Sri Padmadanta to write a poem about the glories of God, he told that because the Lord has infinite gunas (qualities), it is not possible to write such a poem.

Then he wrote one shloka. In that shloka Padmadanta declared that only Parama Purus'a can tell about His infinite attributions. And that Parama Purusa is One.

LORD SHIVA'S NUMEROUS NAMES

(5) Thus it is clear that Parama Purusa has an infinite number of attributions and hence an infinite number of names. But this does not mean that Parama Purusa Baba is not singular in nature.

About Lord Shiva we know that He has so many names and so many we do not know also. But at least more than 2 dozen well known names are there like: Pashupati, Nata'raj, Trilocan, Vya'gra'mbar, Paincca'nan, Vireshvar, Mahadev, Vaidyana'th, Shiva', Maheshvara, Ma'ya'diish, Niil Kanth, Ganga'dhar, Gaoripati, Deveshvar, A'dipita', Mantresh, Mahakoala, Ta'rak Na'th, Liila'dhara, Shankar, Kalbhairav, Adinath, A'shutosh, Vajradhar, Hara, Shambhu, Vibhu'tinath etc...

Interestingly, nobody amongst those dogmatic Hindu worshipers of Lord Shiva, raises the point that Shiva has different / multiple personalities according to the attribution and name.

CONCLUDING THOUGHTS

(6) So the whole idea is that Baba is Parama Purusa. HE has an infinite number of names-- one for each of His infinite attributions. But no one should think that these names refer to different personalities. Parama Purusa is one Divine Entity with different names.

(7) Ultimately then, the conclusion was easiliy reached that Shrii PR Sarkar and Shrii Shrii Anandamurtiji are the same. One personality with two names.

BABA'S BLESSING

(8) And top of all we know that the name Shrii PR Sarkar is for non-Margiis and the name Shrii Shrii Anandamurtiji is for Ananda Margiis.

Here following is Baba's blessing:

Baba says, "O human beings, O' painstaking human beings, don't be afraid, dont' be disheartened, I am for you. O' human beings please come, you please come, I am for you." (SS-12, p.78)

PRABHAT SAMGIITA

"A'lo jhariye madhu ks'ariye a'ndha'r sa'riye tumi esecho..."   (P.S. 1233)

Purport:

Baba, You have come and by Your divine advent You are showering effulgence, exuding nectar, and wiping away all darkness. Baba, You have come-- making the flowers blossom & graciously spreading happiness and bliss to one and all. Baba, by Your august arrival everyone's hopes and longings have been fulfilled.

Baba, living beings were awakened by the deep yearning and pain of longing in their heart. And with this feeling, in the anticipation & hope of Your coming, they were awake, watching for Your arrival-- constantly looking towards Your path. Baba, this pain and longing of devotees resonated in Your heart and You could no longer remain distant.

Baba, You have come and You are graciously pouring the basket of love-- satisfying everyone's heart. The sleeping humanity has gotten new life by Your grace.  Baba-- that river which dried up and evaporated, and that song which was lost in the oblivion-- the current of that very river and the tune of those songs You have graciously brought along with You. [1]

Baba due to Your august advent You have inundated each and every heart
with the nectar of devotion. This is Your causeless grace...

NOTES FOR PRABHAT SAMGIITA:
[1] The inner idea is that when Parama Purusa comes and He saturates the heart with deep devotion, then all those feelings of love and which had dried up start to blossom. In the above song, the river signifies the flow of devotion and the song and melody refers to that subtler expression of devotional feeling.

Dirty Habits Die Hard

Baba says, "[After] taking a bath...soap, oil, and comb should be used every day." (Caryacarya-III)

Note: All around the globe every margii is aware about 16 Points and all of Baba's teachings on health and hygene. Even then a few do not incorporate all these guidelines into their practical lives. Means some do not apply oil to their joints etc. So on paper they are aware about everything yet at retreats one or two may even tell others to follow those things when they themselves do not do this.

So in total there are 4 categories. Those who are aware; those who are not aware; those who point out others; and those who do not recommend this to others. And there may be some other categories also.

However, Baba has made it mandatory that after bathing one should comb the hair of the joints of the body and also apply an ample amount of oil to those regions well. This is Baba's distinct guideline and most margiis and wts strictly adhere to this teaching.

But a very small population of Ananda Margiis shy away from this practice-- for one reason or another. It is sometimes seen that those stuck in a dogmatic western approach to life do not like to use any oil because they got addicted to using scented perfume etc. And there may be other reasons why in so-called advanced countries people do not follow this point of using oil-- neither they apply it to their joints nor on their head. And in other parts of the globe a few have their own private reasons why they avoid using oil.

In contrast in those countries where oil is used more regularly used, then new margiis readily adapt to the practice of putting oil on the joints. Means they quickly adopt this new practice. Because their mind is naturally open to this idea; whereas in some western nations a couple people are reticent to ever use oil-- that is why it is commonly proclaimed that this is one of the dogmas of the west.

But most Ananda Margiis practice the use of oil and certainly there are some sectors where it is even more widely practiced. And in that case those practitioners naturally get all the special benefits. And indeed there is a very significant reason behind all this which Baba has given. Namely that the lymph glands are located there in the joints and by applying oil to those areas then the lymphatic glands get the nourishment they need.

Note 2: One need not spend a lot of money purchasing oil and it need not be an imported variety. Rather in each area of the globe margiis should use that type of oil which is commonly available to them at at reasonable price. At the same time the oil should not be low-grade either. It should be a standard variety from that area. In India many use coconut oil while in the Mediterranean olive oil is more widely available. And like that from place to place it will vary so everyone should experiment and use one of the locally produced oils and find one they like best. this is the Proutistic way.

Diseased

Baba

Note: This posting is related with the writings of one brother on a recent thread from one of our AM email forums.

== DISEASED ==

Namaskar,
When a person suffers from stomach cancer then they are unable to digest even simple food. In that case, whenever they eat, a huge amount of putrid gas is formed, which ultimately gets released in the form of flatulence. All because their disease will not allow them to properly digest that simple food.

Under such circumstances, one should take proper care. One should not pass that gas in the dharmacakra hall or in any other sentient atmosphere. That is not the way; they should not pollute such environments.

Best is that such a person should seek medical attention and keep oneself under treatment until they are cured. One should not relieve oneself in public. They should recognise their disease and have it treated.

Here I am talking about a disease in the psycho-spiritual sphere. This has appeared in one AM email forum. It is sad that one person has written like this:

"saying MY GURU is God!! or My Guru [Baba Shrii Shrii Anandamurtiji] Has Declared himself as God. Too much ego there."

This person is outraged with Baba's teachings of Ananda Sutram and Caryacarya which are cited below.

We all know Baba is the Taraka Brahma, i.e. God incarnate. This fact every true Ananda Margii understands well. Baba has told this in His discourses and every sadhaka feels this in their heart. This is the basic, minimum concept every sadhaka must have to practice Ananda Marga tantra, dhyana etc. Without this, one cannot do sadhana; one will just waste their time.

For new margiis, these following two references may help:

1-25. Bhávah bhávátiitayoh setuh Tárakabrahma.

"Purport: The common point bridging together the empirical state of Saguńa and the metempirical state of Nirguńa is called Táraka Brahma [Baba]. Táraka Brahma appears in saguńa [embodied] form as Mahásambhúti [Baba]." (Ananda Sutram, 1-25)

Baba says, "The one formless, beginningless and infinite Parama Brahma (Supreme Consciousness) is the only entity to be attained by living beings – That alone is Jagat Guru (the Supreme preceptor) [Baba], That alone has revealed Brahmavidyá (intuitional science) to us through the medium of the name and form of Anandamúrtijii [Baba]. Unit beings must be made to appreciate Its majesty. (Caryacarya-2, Sadhana, Pt #1a)

These two simple quotes essentially state that Baba has come as Parama Purusa to guide humans as a Guru and teach spiritual science.

Yet, when someone says that, "Baba is Parama Purusa", then this person becomes reacted. In response he starts spreading all kinds of foul writings on our AM email forums. That is what we practically see going on.

"saying MY GURU is God!! or My Guru [Baba Shrii Shrii Anandamurtiji] Has Declared himself as God. Too much ego there."

Here he is polluting the atmosphere because of his disease. This is not something healthy or beneficial for his own spirtual progress - not is this helpful for new margiis reading thiss they may get confused.

This sadhaka himself is blaming his Guru Shrii Shrii Anandamurtiji as being as egoistic. because Baba proclaims himself in Ananda Sutram and Caryacarya as being the the Divine Entity.

I feel sad and have pity on this person. He has been connected with AM for decades, but this basic, fundamental point he could not get. I only hope that Baba will grace him. May Baba open his eyes.

Namaskar,
Shantatma

Note 1: INTRODUCING ONESELF

When a human being is living amongst animals then that person should not introduce himself as an animal, just to please those pigs, squirrels, owls and dogs. Rather one should say that, "I am a human being."

Similarly, Baba being the Taraka Brahma should not come on this earth and introduce Himself as an ordinary mortal - that would not be proper. So Baba has beautifully graced us by telling us that He is Parama Purusa.

The only problem is that diseased person get a little bit reacted - nothing more.

Note 2: MORE ABOUT THE ABOVE SCENE

The problem is that this person is passing his crude understanding in public - all across our AM forums. But this is not the place for his irrational and anti-devotional ramblings.

If some non-margii says these types of things that is totally different. It is the same as if a jackal is howling then it is fine because people do not expect that the jackal should talk. But if a human being is howling then people will try and help and bring him to the psychiatric hospital.

Best is that he should seek treatment. This person should say to Baba, "O, my Dearmost Baba, due to my terrible limitation I am unable to properly understand Your divine words, please grace me so that I may realise Your True Self." This should be the approach. Or this person can go to an acarya for help.

Unfortunately, this person does not realise his own problem. So he is "passing his smell" on the public stage. It is quite foul.

Note 3: WHO GETS AFFECTED BY ALL THIS

If someone tries to spit on the sun at high noon then the sun will not get harmed rather that spit will fall directly on the face of that person. Similarly, if anyone tries to abuse Baba then Baba will not get harmed in any way, rather the person is himself harmed as he will not progress in sadhana. That is the concern.

Note 4: WHO IS THIS PERSON

Now you probably want to know who is the person writing against Guru on the public platform and spreading all kinds of poisonous emails. If this were a non-margii I would simply ignore the matter. But this person has invested himself in AM yet without this basic feeling he will not progress in the psycho-spiritual realm. That is my worry. In Tantra this is the basic requirement: To surrender to Guru and accept His guideline.

Everyone should know who is speaking against Ista (Baba) & Adarsha (Baba's teachings). And the answer is that this person is Prakash Laufer of NY sector. Prakash is the one who cannot digest Baba's teachings and in reaction is writing offensive emails on our AM forums.

Please help cure brother Prakash of his disease. He can be reached at:

I am worried about his spiritual progress because when any Ananda Margii does not have basic faith on his Ista then their sadhana is futile.

PRABHAT SAMGIITA

"Campak vane dakhina' pavane..."    (PS 40)

Purport:

Baba, You have presented Yourself and come into this world with the resonance of music, in endless ways. You have manifested Yourself in innumerable styles and forms with rhythmic sweetness and beauty. Baba, all the pangs of loss, all disappointments, and weaknesses have been forgotten. Now everything is filled with Your divine charm.

Baba, due to Your unfathomable grace, we have been able to know You, hear You, and see You in countless ways. Baba, if this had not been Your desire-- if You had not blessed us in this way-- then how could we have gotten You. Baba, what else is the cause except Your krpa', Your divine grace.

O' Baba, You have come today with the beauty of rhythm and song...

One Should Always Remember

Baba says, "However little one's capacity might be, if one constantly remembers that Parama Purus'a is always with him, that they are in the closest contact with Parama Purus'a, they will be able to do everything. They are not as small as they think themselves to be. And as long as they remember this closest association with Him, they can do much more than ordinary human beings. When this idea becomes permanently established in their minds, they become great. This is why no one should be disappointed or depressed in any circumstances; let everyone constantly perform great deeds, remembering that the flow of their capacity is coming from Parama Purus'a, and thus they can do everything." == MEETING WITH BHA'SKARA'NANDA ==

Namaskar,
This is the story of a meeting with one of our senior-most Dadas, Ac Bhaskarananda Avt. Read to see what has transpired in a series of fateful interactions.

STORY: PART 1

Once in 2008 or so, Ac Bhaskarananda Avt telephoned me, Narayan Panda (BP, Vishakapatnam), and kindly requested me to arrange food for his lunch in Vishakhapatnam station during his journey from Howrah to Yashvantpur.

I gladly accepted his request & went to the railway station to hand over the food packet.

At that meeting, Bhaskarananda Dada immediately started telling me why he joined the Kolkata Administration. Dadaji wanted to justify his allegiance.

Bhaskarananda explained: "Ba'ba' gave Proutist Bengal because He wanted that Prout should first be established in Bengal and then in other areas."

That was respected Bhaskarananda's claim.

RESPONSE #1:

NATURE OF SAMAJ MOVEMENT-- UPLIFTMENT OF ALL

Before continuing on with this story, let's evaluate Dada Bhaskarananda's opening claim. Namely that, "Prout should first be established in Bengal and then in other areas."

As we know, Baba has come for the development and growth of the entire humanity. That is why He has given AM ideology and that is the essence of His Proutistic teachings and samaj platform. Baba's chief aim is that all should progress and none should lag behind. Toward this end, one of the key campaigns which Baba has dharmically launched is His samaj system. About this we are well aware.

Specifically it is through this samaj system that Baba encourages everyone to rise up and do great things. This is His way of reminding one and all of their inherent qualities and immense potential.

Baba has carefully delineated that the globe is currently composed of 241 samajas, or regional socio-economic communities. And He graciously looks upon them all with equal concern and love; they are all designed to work in a self-supportive and cohesive fashion for the growth of the entire humanity.

Here are some reminders about the principles of Baba's samaj program.

Baba says, "The socio-economic movements advocated by PROUT are founded on the ideological base of neo-humanism." (Prout-13, p.23)

So the entire Proutistic movement of the various socio-economic units - or samajas - is grounded in the universal feeling of cosmic fraternity. There is no scope for dogma, groupism or elitism in Baba's samaj teachings.

In this next guideline Baba guides us how the samaj system works for a unified humanity.

Baba says, "Those sentiments which are conducive to human unity should be encouraged, rejecting the sentiments which create a rift in human society. This is the approach adopted by PROUT's socio-economic groups." (Prout, p. 21)

By His above guideline it is evident that Baba's samaj system is for the whole humanity to move together - He does not favour one samaj nor does He think that Amra Bengali samaj must be the first to advance Prout. You will not find any discourse that states this - only those wedded to a particular group make such false and outrageous claims. Baba Himself never talks like this.

In His dharmic manner, Baba clearly emphasizes that our samaj system must be based on this slogan:

Baba says, "Universal in spirit but regional in approach" (PNS-13, p.24)

By this way each locale has the requisite capacity to function independently yet be simultaneously linked with that common goal. That means Prout should be propagated in all areas.

Thus who can believe Bhaskarananda's claim that Prout should first be established in Bengal and that the whole globe should concentrate on A'mara' Bengali samaja - by giving money and human resources - and disregard their own samaj.

Baba Himself never set such an outrageous quota in His samaj meetings. Baba never asked margiis, "How much support have you given to A'mara' Bengali samaj." And Baba never scolded anyone from another samaj for not supporting A'mara' Bengali.

Rather Baba would inquire with everyone about their activities and participation in their own local samaj - not A'mara' Bengali.

Plus when Baba traveled around India and to other sectors, He always talked about that local samaj. He never traveled around the globe to propagate the cause of A'mara' Bengali samaj.

So then how did some get this faulty notion that Baba wants that A'mara' Bengali samaj must be established first. That is the question we must ask ourselves.

Generally speaking, when any guru leaves their physical body then those disciples in power create all kinds of cock and bull stories in the name of that guru. In turn, simple, naive, and foolish people accept such tales as being true. Whereas those who are rational always disregard such stories and stick to the original teachings.

We see this trend in our Ananda Marga as well.

All in all it is illogical, unideological, and just plain silly to think that Baba wants that Prout should first be established in A'mara' Bengali samaj. No rational thinking margii can think like this; that is why it is so surprising - indeed shocking - that such a senior Dada like Bhaskarananda has fallen into such a dogma.

STORY: PART 2

Let's pick up the story where we left off. As you recall Bhaskarananda's last words were: "Ba'ba' gave Proutist Bengal because He wanted that Prout should first be established in Bengal and then in other areas."

Then Dada went on to say, "What Bengal thinks today, India & others think tomorrow. So PROUT will be established in Bengal first and then it will be spread to other areas."

He then told, "After all, Ba'ba' supported Bengal so much. Shabda Cayanika was given in Bengali, Baba lived in Bengal after 1980 when the organisation was big, Prabhat Samgiita was given in Bengali."

Such were the justifications given by Dada.

RESPONSE #2:

AFFECTED BY DOGMA OF BANGALISATION

Here we have to remember that when anyone's mind is affected by any narrow sentiment like Bangalistan etc, then they paint the whole world in that colour.

To set the record straight it should be understood that Shabda Cayanika is not about the Bengali language. We all know that Shabda Cayanika is Baba's special series of topics centered around Sanskrit grammar. This is the well known fact. Baba is purely focused on the development and explanation of the Sanskrit language.

Certain group leaders often proclaim: "Shabda Cayanika is a series devoted to the linguistics and philology of the Bengali language".

Yet this could not be further from the truth. In Shabda Cayanika Baba is making a careful and precise elaboration of the Sanskrit language, not Bengali. Only because Sanskrit has no script of its own was it first printed in Bengali - but the subject matter is that of the Sanskrit language. And anyone who has even an ounce of familiarity with these discourses knows this to be the case.

So that is one point. Next we should consider this:

The majority of the discourses given by Baba were in Hindi. Regarding the total number of discourses: 75% are in Hindi and 25% in other languages including Bangla; i.e. in terms of hours and time. This is a well-researched fact - not hearsay. Plus, Baba spent most of His physical life in Hindi speaking areas.

About Prabhat Samgiita, by giving these songs primarily in Bengali, Baba is teaching devotees to write songs in their own mother tongue. It is not about which language is great and which is not great. That is not Baba's message. Rather in 1984 DMC, Baba explained that human beings may know 1, 2, 4, or even 10 languages, but all languages are the language of Parama Purusa. Baba then told that every sadhaka should try and learn more and more languages. So there is no question of any language like Bengali being better than any other language.

Baba put forth this same idea in this below discourse.

Baba says, "All languages must be given equal respect. One should remember that all languages are the languages of Parama Puruśa. I may master perhaps one, two, three or maybe 100 or 300 of these languages, but it does not mean that the languages I do not know are not the languages of Parama Puruśa. Hence, it is absurd to divide humanity on the basis of language." (Prout Nutshell, part 7, Human Society Is One and Indivisible – 3)

And top of all, Baba Himself is a Supreme Neo-Humanist. There is no question of Baba being partial to Bengal or liking Bengal more. To make such an erroneous claim is to undermine Baba's grand stature. No true bhakta can think in this way.

This type of narrow-mindedness undermines Baba's personality. Any person claiming as such is low-minded and lowly. With their narrow outlook, they contravene Baba's magnanimity. They are trying to prove Baba as being partial as if He supported Bangla more than any language. Such a misguided approach puts for the notion that Baba was externally preaching universality but internally preaching Bangalisation. This is a very, very hurtful insinuation.

All I can say about this is that usually when human beings come in contact with animals then those animals think that those humans are also animals. When a dog sees its master that dog thinks that its master is also an animal. I think you understand that analogy.

Suffice to say that only those prone to groupism will try to justify their dogmatic outlook by tainting Guru's teachings in this way. Again, no neo-humanistic margii or worker can think in that negative manner.

STORY: PART 3

Here we again pick up the story.

Bhaskaranandji continued: "I took the side of 'B' group during the division to satisfy Ba'ba'."

Then Dadaji quoted one proverb in Hindi. Its meaning is: You can dissatisfy God / Ba'ba' but if you dissatisfy Guru, your position will be in danger. Bhaskarananda concluded by saying that he didn't want to be Gurudrohii (traitor to Guru), so he joined Kolkata group.

RESPONSE #3:

CAN ANYONE REALLY BELIEVE THIS

All I can say here is that it is just plain sad to see the lowly state of Dadaji's mind. Here Bhaskarananda is openly proclaiming that he joined a group. Does he really think that he can please Baba by advocating groupism.

Baba says, "Motivated by socio-sentiment, one group harms and exploits another group in the social, economic, cultural and religious spheres." (NH-LOI: Disc #7)

When Baba is propagating neo-humanism then how can anyone think that Baba is guiding them to follow groupism.

Indeed when Baba Himself has declared that groupism is the cause of so much torture and bloodshed, then who can think that one can please Baba by falling into groupism. It is nothing short of a tragedy that Bhaskarananda has fallen in this manner. We should all try and revive him. Because really he has so much more to give to the world.

Tragically, hypocritically people do all kinds of misguided and malicious things in the name of God: The crusades, jihad, killing and torturing. Indeed there has been so much spilling of blood and destruction in the name of God.

And now Bhaskarananda is singing the same tune and adding another chapter to this awful story. If he were courageous he would say that all this was his idea; only cowardly people say such things in the name of God.

Baba says, "When the advocates of dogma and the followers of isms lacked sufficient charisma to convince people through the power of their personalities, they tried to persuade them by taking the name of God. They openly exploited others in the name of the Supreme. Sometimes they said, “I have received certain instructions in a dream. God’s commandments are that you should follow these instructions“." (Prout Nutshell, part 16, Religious Dogma – Section A)

Similarly, Bhaskarananda lacks the requisite strength and dynamism to convince others that following groupism is admirable, so he puts forth this dogma in Baba's name. I do not think that any right-thinking margii will be duped by this shameful approach. We all know that Baba is cent-per-cent against all kinds of groupism.

STORY: PART 4

Hearing all this I told Bhaskarananda:

"With all due respect, so many Da'da's (sannyasiis) say Ba'ba' told this, or Ba'ba told that. They fabricate so many stories and make margiis look like fools for believing in such concocted stories. So I don't believe your words that Ba'ba' wanted this or that, or Baba told this or that. Kindly show me Ba'ba's statements in black & white."

Such was my response and there was no time to say more because his train was about to leave.

RESPONSE #4:

BABA HAS PUT ALL HIS TEACHINGS IN WRITING

We all know that this is the first time that Taraka Brahma has put all His divine teachings in a clear, cohesive ideology that has been written down and published. If anyone sadhaka or interested person wants to know Baba's teaching or perspective on any topic, they should consult Baba's published scripture and not rely on hearsay from this or that Dada.

STORY: PART 5

Six months later, in January 2009, I happened to meet Bhaskarananda again - this time in Pundag Railway Station (Purulia) when I was returning from DMS.

After initial greetings, Bhaskarananda began advocating why all Baba's discourses should be based on the so-called original Bengali. Here the term so-called is employed because as well all know Baba delivered discourses in so many languages including Hindi and English.

Bhaskarananda told: "Maniis'a'nanda opposed having "Translated from original Bengali" printed on the title page of each book. But you know that Ba'ba' has formulated so many rules & regulations in Publication Department. Accordingly, it is customary to translate the original discourse into Bengali & then to Hindi / English."

Such was Bhaskaranandji's claim.

Dada continued, "When Ba'ba' used to deliver His discourse in DMC time, He used to see the average standard of the people, therefore He used to speak in very simple English language. Therefore it was necessary to translate to Bengali & then to good English."

I was surprised to hear such things from such a senior Da'da' & thought it was meaningless to hear anything further from him because his statements are illogical & irrational.

Internally, I got annoyed with Da'da' because who is he to comment whether Ba'ba' was thinking that He would speak standard English, or poor quality English. If it is so, let us examine Baba's first discourse on microvita in Kalikata on 31st Dec '86 which He delivered in English. That discourse was so complex that even up till today, it could not be understood by so many philosophers, doctors, scientists, yet Baba spoke in that manner before so many common margiis like us who were present on that day.

At that time my train arrived in the station, and was forced to leave by bidding "Good Bye & Namaskar" to Da'da'.

RESPONSE #5:

DADAJI'S TWO CLAIMS

In his above series of statements, Bhaskarananda is making a few false claims:

1) That it is the rule for Publications Dept to translate all discourses first into Bengali and use that as the original.

His claim is that a discourse originally given by Baba in English should be translated into Bengali and then retranslated back to English and then printed. But by this way the originality of Baba's discourse is gone. Best is to simply transcribe Baba's spoken English into written English. What is the need to translate an English discourse to Bengali when the goal is to first print it in English.

Another scenario is for that same English discourse to be translated into Bengali and then translate that Bengali into Spanish. Rational people will easily understand that it should be translated directly from English into Spanish. Whereas people suffering from the dogma of Bangalisation will want the English discourse translated into Bengali first and then into Spanish.

That is Bhaskarananda's first claim - that always Bengali should server as the "original" or "master" language for all publications. And this point shall be discussed in greater detail below.

Now here is Bhaskarananda's second outrageous claim:

2) That those who attended DMC were of a lowly standard so Baba used peasant English to communicate with them. Hence it was necessary to put English discourses into Bengali and then translate that Bengali back into proper English.

RESPONSE #5 (CONT):

MORE ABOUT DADAJI'S TWO CLAIMS

Anyone can easily understand that Bhaskarananda's above two claims are utterly erroneous. All of Baba's discourses should be printed "as is" in the original language in which Baba spoke. There is no "rule" that Bengali should be treated as the original language.

Secondly, Bhaskarananda is seriously insulting all non-Bengalis by saying that their mental standard (i.e. intelligence) was so low - i.e. Baba had to employ "dumb English" so those in attendance could understand. Hence it was needed to change Baba's spoken English at DMC to Bengali and then translate that into respectable English.

All these justifications given by Bhaskarananda are silly. He may think he can dupe all Ananda Margiis with his rhetoric, but that is not so.

We know that all Baba's discourses should first be transcribed in the language in which Baba spoke. And that transcription should be treated as the original discourse. So if Baba delivered the discourse in Hindi than that Hindi transcription should serve as the original. And same is the case with English as well as any other language. This every margii and acarya now understands. So no one can believe what Bhaskarananda is telling.

Again let me reiterate that irrespective of the language, what Baba spoke should be transcribed "as is" and that should be treated as the original. Because in the process of translation 20% of the idea gets lost. To minimize this, all His discourses - irrespective of any language - should always be directly translated from the original language, not via any 3rd language.

For example, if a Hindi discourse published in Subhasita Samgraha needs to be translated into Hungarian then it should be translated directly from the original language, i.e. Hindi, into Hungarian. If someone says that the Hindi should be translated first into English and then translated from English into Hungarian, then that will be very bad. It will be a poor translation as much of the content and meaning will get lost.

So the translation must always be from the original language - not via any other language. None then can claim that all Baba's discourses should first be translated into Bengali and then use the Bengali as the original. This is not the right approach.

Finally, in their heart of hearts, the Publications Dept also knows that Baba's discourses are to be printed "as is" in the languages in which they were originally given. Here is the proof.

Throughout the 1990's, Sarvatmananda and his B group cohorts committed a lot of sins by attempting to permanently destroy and alter Baba's divine words. They ruined created the Fake BP Manual, inserted "translated from the original Bengali" at the beginning of every book, plus they invented the Fake Ananda Vaniis and countless other dogmas like Mahaprayan etc. In short, they made a black stain on our Marga.

In the wake of all the protests to these crimes, they felt they needed to respond to margiis appeals not to distort Baba's words. They had to prove themselves to the margiis.

So they ordered Acyutananda to create one book that was true to Baba's words. And that book was Ananda Vacanamrtam part 34 (2000). In that publication, Acyutananda wrote every word down "as is" and what could not be heard, he wrote "inaudible". In a phrase, he transcribed everything perfectly from the original cassette and they did not impose any of their Bangalistanisms.

Why did team Tiljala do like this? Why did they create book "as is" from the original cassette. Because they KNEW-- they knew in their heart of hearts-- that this was Baba's system and in order to get back the trust and faith of margiis, they felt they had to follow Baba's system-- at least once. So they did it.

This printing in 2000 of AV-34 indeed proves that they know what this is the proper way to publish an AM book. They did not invent this approach themselves. This is the way given and approved by Baba Himself. That is why team Bangalistan adopted this "as is" technique. Because they knew it was Baba's system and they needed to get themselves out of "hot water" and earn back the trust of margiis.

Plus they did the same thing with Subhasita Samgraha Part 24.

By all this it is quite clear that Bhaskarananda's claims are utterly false and will fall on deaf ears - after all who is naive and gullible enough to believe those outrageous claims.

EPILOGUE

As you can see, this senior-most Dada has unfortunately fallen into some serious dogmas. As is the case when one falls into dogma, the person involved does not know that it has happened. So they tell their dogmatic views to anyone and everyone, without realising that they are inadvertently telecasting how their mind has become grossly dogmatic. Unfortunately this is what has happened with our senior worker, Dada Bhaskarananda. We should all try and help Dadaji.

I do not know why Dada fell in this way it is very painful to think of all this. It could be  that when Dada came to know that the people of Kerala migrated from Bengal then due to this socio-sentiment he became prone to Bengalis.

Many may know that Baba has explained that Bengalis migrated south to Kerala and ruled there. That is why the female custom of making the sound "Ullu" is practiced in Kerala. And Malayam (the language of Kerala) is about 92% Sanskrit like Bengali. Baba describes all this in Shabda Cayanika. All know that Dadaji hails from Kerala and that could be why he fell and started blindly supporting Bengal. Otherwise what could be the reason.

Regardless, we all know Dada Bhaskarananda to be a senior Dada whose intention is basically good, so we should all try and help Dadaji. After all he has many dharmic qualities.

Namaskar,
Panda

Note 1: MORE ON THIS CRITICAL TOPIC

[A] The below letter contains the 1995 circular written by a member of Amara Bengali samaj, and he is making that dogmatic claim that our entire Marga should be based on the Bengali language. This gives proof of the dogmatic linguistic sentiment adopted by certain group members.

[B] This below letter discuss more about this critical issue of sanctity of scripture and Baba's published discourses.

Baba

== WHEN ROAD SIGNS ARE WRONG ==

Namaskar,
"“I am that Vireshvijay Vasumallik,” he replied. Saying this, he threw
himself into the water. The rapids flung his body around violently and
carried him off towards a deep cavern. After that his body sank and
disappeared from sight. A sudden strong gust of wind blew at my back
from the direction of the forest. Then the gust of wind started blowing
towards the mountain in front of me. All around me I could hear the
sound; son, son, son. If someone else had been there they would not have
heard anything else, but in the middle of this son-son sound I could
hear Vireshvijay’s last words ma'-ma'-ma' go [mother, mother, oh my dear
mother]. With steadfast eyes I looked at the rapids. Unknowingly, my
eyes lighted on a few drops of water. In all directions one could hear
the hills reverberating with the sound – ma'-ma'-ma' go." (SC-1, Disc: 4)

The above is the concluding paragraph of Baba's dramatic story about the
great revolutionary Vireshvijay Vasumallik in Shabda Cayanika part 1.
Baba, being the supreme storyteller extraordinaire, narrates this
history about Vireshvijay's epic confrontation with the British invaders
in riveting fashion.

Anyone not familiar with the story should certainly take time to read it.

                    "SON, SON, SON"

Unfortunately there is one serious mistake in the translation and
publication of this story, and in particular in the last paragraph,
noted above.

At one point, Baba is describing how the wind is blowing.

The publishers wrote: "A sudden strong gust of wind blew at my back from
the direction of the forest. Then the gust of wind started blowing
towards the mountain in front of me."

Baba narrates the scene further.

And the publishers wrote, "All around me I could hear the sound; son,
son, son."

According to this translation, it appears to the reader that the sound
or word reverberating in the wind is "son, son, son", which of course
would refer to the male child of a mother or the cherished son of one's
homeland.

And since Vireshvijay is the courageous native son of that land, and
since Vireshvijay is about to meet his tragic death, and since in that
final moment Vireshvijay himself calls out, ma'-ma'-ma' [mother, mother,
oh my dear mother], then it certainly seems like someone or something is
crying out for her son - whether it be some type of spirit, a ghost or
goddess of that land, or mother nature; and in response, our tragic hero
is replying back: Mother, mother, oh my dear mother. It might even seem
to the reader that Vireshvijay leaped to his death in response to the
call of some ghostly or ethereal motherly figure. That is the way the
story reads.

But that is not at all what is going on. Due to a critical error in
translation / publication, the entire meaning is skewed, altered and the
reader is led astray.

                     WHAT IT REALLY MEANS

In that culminating scene of this most dramatic story, Baba is artfully
describing the sound of the wind.

The publishers wrote: "A sudden strong gust of wind blew at my back from
the direction of the forest. Then the gust of wind started blowing
towards the mountain in front of me."

That part is ok.

But then the publishers wrote: "All around me I could hear the sound;
son, son, son."

This is where the problem lies.

When the publishers wrote, "son, son, son," it seems that a ghost or
mother nature or some ethereal mother is calling out to her native son,
Vireshvijay. That is the impression that any reader would get based on
what the publishers printed.

But in reality, something entirely different is going on.

In His colourful manner of narration, Baba is making and describing the
sound of the wind itself.

In Hindi or Bengali, the phonetic spelling of the sound a large gust of
wind makes when it is rushing through the mountains or forest is: shon',
shon', shon' (with a nasal "n" at the end).

Or there may be a better way to write it, perhaps shoun', but the sense
is that Baba is actually making the sound of the wind as one would do in
Hindi or Bengali. That is what is meant and indeed stated.

In which case the translators / publishers should have written:
"Whoosshh, whoooshh, whooshh", or some other term or phrasing in English
that would denote that Baba is describing or emulating the sound of the
wind as it rushes through the forest. And then the word could be
italicised as well, further indicating that Baba is describing an actual
sound.

But the translators missed this point entirely. They misunderstood
Baba's divine way of storytelling. And they took it literally that the
wind was speaking the English word "son, son, son", as in the case of a
male child of one mother.

Thus any reader will be terribly confused and led astray.

Because again, in reality, Baba is describing the way the fast blowing
wind is howling through the forest landscape, rustling all the leaves.
We have all heard such sounds before. And the phonetic way of writing
that sound in Hindi would be something like: shon', shon', shon', with
nasal sounding "n" at the end.

So that sound is not at all the English word "son", as in "son" or
"daughter" or "male offspring".

Unfortunately, our publishers - albeit their intentions were innocent in
contrast to certain blatant and manipulated distortions that have been
made in the past - could not properly nor accurately depict
what Baba was telling.

In result, this great story from Shabda Cayanika about the revolutionary
hero Vireshvijay is tainted and ends in confusion as if some ghost or
other-worldly being is crying out for her lost native son to commit
suicide etc. And that Baba is glorifying such acts.

Such is the extent of the misportrayal of the current English edition of
this book, Shabda Cayanika part 1.

A truly dharmic and unique history has been severely tainted.

                       CORRECTING THE WRONG

Needless to say, this error in translation or publication should be
corrected at the earliest. If those publishers wait for the publication
of the next edition of Shabda Cayanika part 1 in order to correct the
error, then that may take decades and over that time the correction will
ultimately be forgotten. And the book will be reprinted in its current
faulty state - leading readers astray.

Best then is if an errata page is made today itself and a formal
statement issued by the Publications Dept in order to clarify the error.
Then everyone will be properly informed and there will no longer be
confusion about this wonderful passage.

AM SCRIPTURE IS OUR ROAD SIGN

We must remember that our AM sha'stra or scripture is like a divine road
sign, clearly indicating to us where to go and how to proceed in life.

In our AM books, Baba tells us so many things: How to take a bath, what
food to eat, the cycle of brahmacakra, what is sin and what is virtue,
the history of so many lands, and yes, so many beautiful stories like
that of the great ideological revolutionary Vireshvijay.

In turn, we believe and follow those divine precepts: Paragraph by
paragraph, sentence by sentence, and word by word, thinking them to be
true to Baba's spoken discourse.

His printed teachings - the books of A'nanda Ma'rga - are our road sign
in life. By following the word and spirit of His every teaching we are
able to progress.

Baba says, "Do this, don’t do this – to prescribe these dos and don’ts
of life is the duty of sha'stra. And why does the sha'stra prescribe
those things? For salvation and liberation sha'stras prescribe these dos
and don’ts of life." (SS-21)

It is Baba's boundless grace on us that He has given us the pathway to
success in the form of a written scripture. Now it is the duty of those
at the helm to ensure our AM publications are done properly. Because
when our AM books are not proper, then our entire Marga society will get
the wrong road sign in life and be led astray, even harmed.

In the notes below the signature are further examples where those in
charge have wrongly printed our AM scripture, thereby misguiding readers
and sadhakas alike.

                         BABA'S BLESSING

By Baba's grace He has beautifully recounted the life and history of the
spirited revolutionary Vireshvijaya. That epic story is told with so
much passion and force - the reader can tangibly feel the efforts,
trials, and courage of this great young man who bravely gave his life
for ideology. It is a great story for us all.

Yet it is undermined by the fact that in the culminating last paragraph,
the story is wrongly printed thereby sending a confusing if not
misguiding message to the reader. This mistake must be corrected at the
earliest.

Baba says, "The scriptures containing spiritual injunctions must be
totally flawless." (NSS, Disc: 14)

Namaskar,
Shantatma

Note 1: MUST TRANSLATE FROM THE ORIGINAL TEXT

Each and every AM discourse must be perfectly transcribed from the
original audio file into the original language and from there translated
into other languages. So a discourse originally delivered by Baba in
Hindi should be perfectly transcribed into Hindi directly and then from
that source document be translated into other languages.

At present, often times the English edition is looked upon as source
material for translation work. And that is fine when the original
discourse has been given by Baba in English. But when when the original
is in Hindi, Bengali, Telgu, or Spanish, then English should not be used
as the source. But it happens. This might be because no one is able to
translate directly from Hindi to Japanese or Swahili etc. Thus the
English edition is used as a stepping stone. So the English edition has
a big role to play at present. Unfortunately, when the English version
is incorrect, distorted or wrong, then that error will be transferred to
so many other editions. That is a major problem.

Again, the ideal manner is to have every book translated directly from
the original language. That should be our aim. Otherwise when there are
mistakes in translation into English, then those mistakes will multiply
and grow when other translations are made from the English text.

Note 2: OTHER MISTAKES IN THE AM BOOKS

Tragically, there are countless publication mistakes and errors in our
AM books. The above problem with the last paragraph about the story of
Vireshvijay is not at isolated incident. Here are other grave problems
to be aware of:

SCARED TO PRINT THAT AM IS 1ST PHILOSOPHY OF YOGA

1) Baba has clearly stated in English that AM is the first time that the
philosophy of yoga has been given. But this historic proclamation was
deleted from the printed discoruse.

http://am-global-01.blogspot.com/2008/05/yoga-phil-was-first-propounded-by-am.html

                      FALSE CLAIMS OF WAR

2) Baba has clearly guided us that we are to be involved in all kinds of
noble deeds and high-minded work, yet the Publication department wrongly
printed that we are to be engaged in war, not work.

http://am-global-01.blogspot.com/2008/10/be-engaged-in-war.html

4) And like this there are dozens and dozens, or more correctly,
hundreds and hundreds, of critical errors in our AM scripture. Proper
effort needs to be made to catalog these errors and then those in
Publications must sincerely work to correct them, not falsely justify
their wrongdoing as in the case of the AM Revolution discourse.

"Sakal bha'ver a'dha'r tumi, toma'r na'me ja'i go mete..." - P.S. no. 787

Purport:

Baba, You are the base of all ideations. By Your grace I am divinely
intoxicated in Your name and song. Within my lonely eyelids I have an
incessant desire to get You.
Baba, the whole universe is filled with Your form. My mind is
resonating in Your tune and melody. In fact, all the rhythms and
all the songs have come on this earth to sing Your glory.
Baba, the whole sky is filled with Your effulgence. Your august arrival
has changed darkness into effulgence. And the iron door of the jail is
pulverized into dust. All the dogma has disappeared. The whole universe
is filled with Your divine effulgence.
Baba, everyone is ensconced in singing Your name...

Baba

             == BABA'S FLYING MESSENGER ==

Namaskar,
As Ananda Margiis, the best memories and most beautiful experiences in
our life revolve around being with Baba-- either through our dreams, in
our sadhana, or being in His physical proximity. All these remembrances
bring a wave of sweetness and bliss. And truly we are blessed to have
His personal touch in this life. That is nothing but His divine grace.

One of the greatest things about Baba is that everything He does is
aimed towards bringing us closer to Him. His teachings, His stories, His
affection, His scolding, His directives, and His humour are all done for
one special reason: So that we may be drawn closer to Him and realise
His infinite love.

In that way, everything He does is for our betterment and growth and
this following story leads in this very same direction.

"A FLYING BUFFALO HAS TOLD ME..."

We have all heard the line, 'A flying buffalo or camel or lizard or
various other types of animals have come and whispered in my ear'. This
extremely humorous explanation was Baba's way of telling us that He is
aware about each and every thing and that He is always with us-- caring
and watching.

STORY ABOUT KAOSHIKII COMPETITION AT DMC

One time at DMC in April in Daltonganj, all the margiis and acaryas had
assembled and were excitedly waiting for Baba's divine arrival into the
Pandal. The year was 1984. There was so much anticipation and so much
electricity in the air and our Marga was on the rise. Everyday Baba was
giving new teachings and every week more and more devotees were coming
from around the globe to be with Baba. The days of Emergency were now
long behind us and everything in AM was thriving. New people were
swarming into the Marga.

                 ALL WAITING FOR HIS ARRIVAL

So in that anxious moment when all were waiting for Baba's august
presence, the pandal was filled with the devotional chanting of kiirtan.
And after every round as the kiirtan was sung, we are were sure that at
this moment Baba would make His arrival. But alas it was not to be. And
again the devotional longing would mount in kiirtan until the thought of
Him still not coming was unbearable. We were all lost in His thought and
His rhythm.

Then just as it seemed that the kiirtan would go on forever, there was a
massive call from the front of the pandal, 'Parama Pita Baba Ki!' and we
all shouted 'Jai!".

Still there was no physical sign of Baba's arrival but we could feel
that any second He would come forth. Then again came the call 'Parama
Pita Baba Ki' and in unison everyone responded 'Jai!'. This went on for
4 or 5 more rounds until the sound reached its peak and every cell of
everyone's existence was totally focused on His coming.

                         BABA'S DIVINE ARRIVAL

And in that electrifying moment, Baba emerged from behind the stage and
did His folded hand blessing to all. A wave of bliss spread through the
mass of devotees who had gathered. And in a majestic way Baba walked
across the stage, using His cane in the most regal manner. Cries of,
'Baba, Baba, Baba' filled the air. And all the while there were Dadas
surrounding Him watching His each and every step.

When Baba reached the dais and turned to sit down, then immediately PA
Dada came forward and removed Baba's shoes and helped get Baba
comfortably situated on His seat. Pillows were arranged and everything
was made neat and clean. A glass of water was offered to Baba and He
sipped gently from the glass taking a small amount of water.

Little by little, the sound in the Pandal began to lessen as all eyes
became fixed on Baba. Everyone was watching Him intently to see what
would happen next. Then in a joyful mood, Baba asked, 'How is everyone?
Have you had enough to eat? Are you alright?'. And everyone responded,
'Yes Baba'.

BABA'S FLYING MESSENGER & KAOSHIKII COMPETITION

Then came the call for brothers kaoshikii. Still at that time, kaoshikii
was relatively new, and everyone was learning to improve their rhythm
and form. So in that spirit, a kaoshikii competition wa to be done in
front of Baba. So many brothers participated and Baba gently nodded
approvingly as they did their dance.

At that time, many of the margii sisters were thinking to themselves
that they would not have to dance kaoshikii today as they were not prepared.

So after the brothers finished their dance, then Baba look around and
everyone was waiting for the inevitable-- for Him to request the sisters
to dance kaoshikii. But it did not happen. Baba delayed and the room was
quiet.

And then in the next moment, in Hindi Baba said, 'A flying camel has
come and told me that the girls do not want to participate in the
kaoshikii competition'.

After saying this, then Baba was smiling and looking all around the
pandal and in response everyone started smiling and laughing.

Seeing this whole scene, then the sisters quickly came forward and said,
'We want to participate in the kaoshikii competition'.

Then Baba replied, 'As you like'.

And accordingly those sisters did their competition in kaoshikii and
Baba gave His approval.

BABA'S SPECIAL WAY IS ONE BOON FOR DEVOTEES

So during reporting and dharma samiiksa etc, and in various
circumstances, Baba would tell that, 'A flying buffalo has told me...'.
This was His charming & sweet way of telling us that He is always with us.
In countless reportings He did like this.

By this expression, we are to understand that we are not alone and that
we cannot do anything in hidden or secret. We should always think that
He is watching. Through this approach, then the sadhaka will become pure
and sanctified as one will not indulge in negative things because they
will think that Baba is always watching.

And certainly, if one cultivates this habit and thinks that Baba is
always watching, then their real spiritual life starts. Furthermore,
when they start thinking in this manner all the 24 hrs, then they are
established in Brahmahood. In that stage they cannot do anything wrong.

Verily this entire process is one practical way of doing second lesson.
This process is also used in dhyana as well. Because a devotee serves
Parama Purusa then they should feel that He is watching.

                 WATCH OUT FOR AVIDYA MAYA

We know that human life is for sadhana but obstacles invariably come
from avidya maya. One or another trick of maya keeps the sadhaka blinded
and gives them the feeling that materialism is everything. And another
form of avidya maya pulls them away still further by giving them the
false notion that spirituality is meaningless and garbage. Indeed we all
have to be very careful about these two negative forms of avidya maya.

                          BABA'S BLESSING

By Baba's grace when a sadhaka moves one step closer to Parama Purusa,
then one feels the presence of vidyamaya and inspiration comes in the
mind that, 'human life is very short and my goal is Parama Purusa and I
want Him'.

When this feeling comes then the sadhaka rushes headlong to Parama
Purusa and in a very short span reaches Him. Then only does human life
become successful. In this entire approach, Guru's grace is everything
so we should always beg for His grace. O' Lord please be gracious.

Baba says, "The greatest human treasure is devotional sentiment,
devotional wonts. This devotional wealth must be preserved; otherwise
humanity will lose its most valuable possession. The people of the
present-day world have made considerable progress, so now they must not
permit this highest human treasure to be destroyed. Whenever we see that
the pressure of external circumstances threatens this life essence, we
should pray to the Supreme: 'O Lord, please be kind enough to protect
our inner vitality from total destruction. Save us from the agony of
total loss'." (NH-LOI)

Namaskar,
Rambabu

Note 1:        UNDERSTANDING ABOUT THE FLYING MESSENGER

First and foremost, it is the unquestioned truth that Parama Purusa knows everything.

And sure enough, there was one way for Baba to come forward and say, 'I
know everything'. But this He did not like to do as it sounds a bit
arrogant in this present era. In the past however, Lord Krsna did
proclaim as such because the society was ready to listen. But in this
present era, Baba chose not to say like this.

Instead, Baba opted for a more indirect approach. So He employed the use
of one 'messenger' who would tell Him everything. Sometimes that
messenger was a flying camel, or a flying buffalo, or a flying lizard
etc. There were so many animals who 'came to Baba as messengers'. This
was Baba's chosen style.

Yet internally we all know that Baba knows everything and no one really
believes that the messenger-- such as a flying camel-- is something
real. So this is not something to take literally. It is just Baba's
sweet way of telling us that He knows everything.

In the past however, people have taken things literally such as when
Veda Vyasa Deo told his stories and in turn the common people built
statues based on those tales. Obviously, this type of misunderstanding
should not occur in this present era. We should clarify the point now
that Baba was just joking and those flying camel messengers were not
real. Otherwise in the future people will take it seriously and make
statues of those flying buffaloes etc. So this dogma should not be
allowed to happen.

And it won't so long as we all know and propagate that those flying
animals were not real, just it was Baba's sweet way of telling us that
He knows everything and that always He is watching for our welfare.

"Sukhe dukhe a'mi toma'y bha'loba'si, toma'r tare ka'ndi ha'si..."
(P.S. 2679)

Purport:

Baba, in both my pleasure and pain I love You. I cry as well as laugh
for You. My entire existence is revolving around You. You are my
everything. You are the jewel of my heart-- the most precious and
attractive thing. In my mental sky You are the only shining Entity, like
the full moon. You are my everything.
Baba, I do not know since which hoary past You came in my life. And
when You made everything effulgent. You created this world and since the
dawn of this creation You are. Since that time the divine effulgence is
still shining as it is--unchanged. It did not become faint. It does not
obey the time factor. It is eternal.
Baba, You are One but You are expressing Yourself in infinite ways.
You are that Singular Entity but also You have created many. This whole
creation is also Your form. So You are always playing Your divine liila
with this world which You have created. This divine liila is a mix of
darkness and effulgence. By this way and with the attraction of Your
love, sometimes You keep me close and sometimes You keep Yourself at a
distance.
Baba I am singing Your name and keeping Your warm feeling in my
heart-- all the time, day and night. 24hrs. It is Your grace...

Unpleasant Truth

Baba

                == UNPLEASANT TRUTH ==

Namaskar,
Along with His infinite love, Baba has graciously given all the
requisite guidelines and mandates-- including how to translate His
discourses.

All should be aware then that Baba Himself has verily dictated a list of
key points for how to do translations of our AM books. And, for your
review, here are a few of those directives.

               ONE OF BABA'S KEY DIRECTIVES

DIRECTIVE FROM BABA: 'In the interim period until it is possible to
translate directly from the original language into all other languages
of the world, then English should be used as a middle step, i.e.
Original language of Discourse to English to Language of Publication.'

That means if Baba delivers a discourse in Hindi then if, at the time of
translation, it is not possible to translate directly from the Hindi
into a particular language like Chinese or Portuguese etc, then one
should translate from Hindi into English and then from English into
Chinese or Portuguese etc. That is the essence of Baba's expressed
guideline which He has dictated to Publications Dept.

                 UNPLEASANT TRUTH- PART 1

Unfortunately, right now, the unpleasant truth is that the faction most
involved in doing translations regularly transgresses His guideline.
This may be unpleasant to B group's ears, but the fact remains that they
translate nearly every discourse into Bengali first and then into the
targeted language. And that is not what Baba wants.

For instance, if a discourse was first given in English or Hindi, B
group's regular way is to put the discourse into Bengali and then
convert that into whatever the printed language will be. They will even
translate a Hindi discourse into Bengali and then back into Hindi--
thereby ruining the originality and integrity of Baba's expression.

Such is the case with the 1979 SAMBAPUR DMC PRAVACAN. It was given
originally in Hindi by Baba, yet the Tiljala faction translated it into
Bengali and then retranslated it back into Hindi. And then it was
printed in Hindi based on that faulty translation pattern. So even
though Baba has given the discourse in Hindi, the printed Hindi version
in no way resembles Baba's original spoken discourse. That is the shame
of it all.

And the same nonsense they do if Baba has originally given the discourse
in English.

That is the faulty way in which the Tiljala camp has done nearly all of
their translations. So they are (knowingly) going against Baba's system,
because they are well aware about Baba's directives in this regard. But
they overlook them. And, even worse, they are (mis)training all their
supporters to do the same.

That is why the more recent publication of Ananda Vacanamrtam part 9 - 10
and 11 - 12 are totally off the mark. Baba has given a particular guideline
and the B team went against it.

Of course other factions are also disobeying Baba's guidelines, but even worse
B group is making faulty publications- knowingly - and that is mahapapa (terrible
sin) as they are altering Guru's scripture. Yet they broadcast that they are
the only ones who are faithful to Baba. Such is their hypocrisy.

              ANOTHER OF BABA'S KEY DIRECTIVES

Now let us take a look at another of Baba's directives about how to do
translation work.

DIRECTIVE FROM BABA: 'Never dilute the original by adding an extra step
of translation such as going from Hindi to Bangla to English to Spanish.

That means, if the discourse was given originally in Hindi and due to
limitations it cannot be translated directly into Spanish directly then
only English should be used as an intermediary step-- not any other
language like Bangla. There must not be TWO intermediary steps. That is
Baba's explicit dictum.

                   UNPLEASANT TRUTH- PART 2

Yet once again, although it may be unpleasant to their ears, this is the
faulty manner in which the Tiljala camp pursues all its translation
work. They continually insert extra steps into the translation process,
because they are only satisfied when Bengali gets used-- whether it is
needed or not. Thus, they totally overlook Baba's guidelines and warnings.

                  BABA'S FURTHERMORE WARNING

Baba has explicitly stated, in His translation mandates, that 20% of the
original essence of a discourse is lost when it gets translated. So we
should not add steps into that translation process. That is Baba's warning.

But time and again, the Tiljala crew transgresses Baba's mandate by
automatically translating everything first into Bangla. They know they
point about losing 20%-- as Baba told them directly. Even then, they do
not care. Or what else are we supposed to think.

Only if the original has been given in Bengali do they remotely follow
Baba's directives-- other than that they always betray His orders.

The B team has a deep penchant for putting all Baba's discourses into
Bangla, regardless. Plus in the case of Baba's original DMC discourses
which have been given in three languages, then the Tiljala heads
totally ignore the English and Hindi sections of Baba's discourse and
only translate the Bengali section, as if that is the whole. In that
case huge portions of the discourse are just lost-- never ever seeing the
printed page.

So these are some of the innumerable errors that are occurring on a
daily basis with regards to B group and their publications endeavors.

                      BABA'S BLESSING

By Baba's grace we must never lose hope. He has given all the necessary
guidelines and in the due course good devotees will ensure that Baba's
mandates are being followed. And verily, even now there are margiis and
wts who are keeping an active eye.

So it will not be long before all our AM Publications are done in the
proper way-- according to His guidelines. Right now, although it may
be unpleasant for them to hear, the B brigade only gives lip service to
this. Yet very soon, inevitably by His grace the good people in the
Marga will rise up and ensure that all His discourses are proper.
Because that is what Baba wants.

Baba says, "The scriptures containing spiritual injunctions must be
totally flawless." (NSS)

Namaskar,
Acintya

Note: Those aware about more of Baba's actual guidelines for
how to translate His books should write with more points. I have
heard that these guidelines are well known to the Tiljala faction so
for them this is but a reminder. And those who know more should
come forward so we can put forth a comprehensive list of
these directives. That is a necessary part of saving His
scripture.

So please appear in my dhyana and bless me with Your sweet smile.
Baba, ages have passed, so much time has gone by. So many dawns and
evenings have come and gone-- crying in Your longing. My eyes are
floating in the tears of yearning for You. Baba, please come in my
contemplation, ideation, meditation and dhyana...

Baba is Not One, But Three

Baba

== BABA IS NOT ONE, BUT THREE ==

Namaskar,
These days one negative trend has started. Some are going to the jagrti thinking that there are three Babas. They do sastuanga pranam separately to each one and ask for boons.

                                 WHERE ARE THOSE THREE BABAS

First they go to the dharmacakra hall and see Baba #1 and do sastuanga pranam to the Baba who resides only on the puja table.

Then they go to the pot of holy ashes and see Baba #2 who resides only in those ashes and do sastuanga pranam and ask for some worldly blessing from that #2 Baba.

Later on they go to Baba #3 who resides only in Baba's room and do sastuanga pranam to that Baba.

This is the way that some people think:
(a) They feel there is one Baba who resides permanently in the DC hall, so one must go to the puja table in the DC hall and do sastaunga pranam to Baba #1.
(b) And then there is the Baba who resides inside the pot of holy ashes. This Baba never comes out from that pot so one must go very close to that pot and offer their sastaunga pranam to Baba #2.
(c) Finally they think there is another Baba in the bedroom who never comes out. He remains there always. So one must go to the bedroom / Baba's room and pay salutations to Baba #3.

This is way one can pay respect to all three Babas. Otherwise they feel it is not complete.

So if someone does not get the opportunity to see one of the Baba's because the room is locked etc, then they are saddened. They feel that one Baba remains unaddressed and they will be unhappy.

DOGMA OF HINDUISM IS GROWING IN AM:

                        EACH BABA GRANTS DIFFERENT BOONS

So the polytheistic, multi-god phenomena which is a widespread dogma of Hinduism is now creeping into AM.

Such worshipers do not have any discomfort with what is happening, rather they appreciate that Baba is three now. They think one must please and salute each Baba to get His grace.

In the next phase they will delineate which Baba offers which boon. For instance:
(a) The Baba #1 who resides in DC hall grants the power of intellect.
(b) The Baba #2 who resides in the ashes grants the boon of worldly wealth and money. (c) The Baba #3 who resides in Baba's room / bedroom grants good health + the solutions to all other problems.

In that way, pilgrims choose and select which Baba they will worship depending upon which problem is most acute in their life. Accordingly, they will go and visit the corresponding Baba: Baba #1, Baba #2, or Baba #3.

This type of bizarre outcome is unfolding and now our duty is to save the situation.

Tragically, this is the way the dogma of a polytheistic, multi-god approach has come into AM. This type of dogma is getting propagated.

GIVES MORE POWER TO TOP WTS
Those dogmatic in-charges and avadhutas appreciate this 3-Baba dogma because by this way their own importance is enhanced. Since those Dadas control the jagrtis and have the lock and key to the various rooms etc, their status has been raised. In order to see all three Babas, margiis have to please such Dadas by offering gifts, respect etc.

In so many places in India and in overseas countries this dogma is becoming more popular in our Ananda Marga. Indeed this is most unfortunate; it is a shame.

                                        GOOD SADHAKAS ATTACKED

There is a growing backlash that sadhakas face as well. Wherever this dogma has taken root, then good sadhakas who do not appreciate this 3-Baba dogma get blamed and labeled as crude and devotion-less. That is another unfortunate outcome.

In that case, in order to keep their prestige and because of mounting fear & social pressure, everyone wants to salute Baba #1, #2, & #3 - whether they like it or not. This is the way things are going.

                                               BABA'S GUIDELINE

To understand how harmful all this is for one's spiritual progress, we have to consider Baba's below teaching. In the following quote, Baba is guiding us that God is one. Wherever you are He resides in your heart He never leaves you.

Baba says, "The second type of viveka paiṋcaka is dvaetádvaeta viveka. Through dvaetádvaeta viveka one gains the capacity to analyse whether the eternal entity is one or more than one and come to a conclusion accordingly (dvaeta means dualistic and advaeta means non-dualistic). There cannot remain any svagata, svajátiiya and vijátiiya differentiation in the entity which is beyond time, space and person. So it is not possible for the Eternal Entity to be more than one. Various beliefs about the so-called gods – that one god defeated another in battle, but was later harmed enormously by his adversary’s wrathful vengeance; that a certain god spreads or cures a certain disease; and that another god distributes wealth or learning – are contrary to Dvaetádvaeta Viveka. In spiritual practice nityánitya viveka is not enough, Dvaetádvaeta viveka is also necessary. For success in spiritual practice both nityánitya viveka and dvaetádvaeta viveka are indispensable. They enable people to realize that all the objects bound by time, space and individuality are transient while the Entity beyond the periphery of time, space and individuality is permanent; It is one without a second." (Ananda Marga Ideology Way of Life - 7)

Clearly then, in our AM spiritual approach, God is one. That is Baba's distinct teaching. So this 3-Baba ritual is a clear-cut contravention of our AM ideals. Baba is one.

                                               BABA'S BLESSING

As bhaktas we must never forget Baba's divine teaching that He resides in guha, core of the mind.

Baba says, "One has to search for Him in one’s guhá. Guhá has a couple of meanings – “cave”, and the “I”. Here the second meaning applies. One has to search for Him in one’s “I”. The one who is inside your “I” is you yourself. Search for your self – you will find Him. As long as the [real] you is there, the Lord is also there." (Ananda Vacanamrtam-23)

Thus, that singular divine Entity resides in the inner recesses of one's own mind. That is Baba's divine teaching. Parama Purusa resides within. Baba is within the mind.

So the three-Baba dogma that is unfolding today is nothing but a black spot on the pure spirituality of Ananda Marga. We must oppose this dogma and uphold Baba's divine stance: That He resides in your mind.

Namaskar,
Shantatma

Note 1:                          SHORTCUT WAY IS EASIER

Generally human beings like such types of shortcuts that is why this 3-Baba dogma is growing. Sixteen Points is hard to follow and yama and niyama is also difficult. This 3-Baba dogma makes it "easier" to get Baba since He is divided into three. It is encouraged by our priests.

Note 2:                 HISTORICAL VALUE VS RELIGIOUS DOGMA

Valuing a place for its historical significance is totally different from going there and paying salutations and thinking that God is limited to that spot. When we visit the Taj Mahal we go for historical reasons not for any other reason. We do not think that Baba is stuck inside the Taj Mahal etc. The proof being that we do not bring garlands and do sastaunga pranam to Him there and ask for boons. Likewise when visiting the jagrti we should not think that Baba is limited or confined to the DC hall, a pot of ashes, or Baba's room etc. Baba resides in the mind. One can pay their salutations to Baba anywhere and everywhere because Baba resides within. There should not be any confusion about this.

                                       PRABHAT SAMGIITA

"Ogo prabhu tava la'gi ga'ntha' ma'la' shuka'ye ja'y..." (P.S. 1935)

Purport:

Baba, Oh my Prabhu, the garland which I prepared for You is gradually getting dry and wilted. Day by day my longing for You is increasing. My waiting for You has been in vain. Neither did You come, nor did You accept my garland. These days even the red sun is unpleasant for me - and it was very blissful for me in earlier times. But now it's brilliance is no longer shining for me. Passing the days in longing for You, my heart is restless. Everything is unpleasant for me these days. Even the gentle sweet breeze is no longer alluring  for me. Due to my mind's restless state, my mental darkness has become more deep and more dense. Indeed in my mind, the blackness which was present increased. Day and night is passing this way, in Your longing. Baba, I do not mind if I cannot hold You. Also I do not mind if You do not look towards me with Your sweet, loving smile. One thing You can do though - since I am very low, please grace me. By Your ahetuki krpa, come close to me. Baba, in Your absence, everything in my life has lost its charm. My existence has become totally dry. Time is passing like this. Baba, please grace me and give me Your darshan...
