Actual Progress

Date: 15 Jan 2008 23:48:37 -0000 From: "Gurucharan Yadav" To: AM-GLOBAL Subject: Actual Progress Baba "Pita' ma'ta' bandhu sakha' a'ndha're a'lokavarttika'..." (P.S. 218) Purport: Baba, You are my most intimate and loving One; by Your grace You are so close. Baba, You are my father and You are my mother; You are my friend as well as my eternal companion. Baba, You are my everything-- my One and only. By Your infinite grace You are that divine lamp of effulgence, always guiding me along the proper path in life. Baba You are everywhere. By Your grace no one is ever alone or helpless. You are ever-present carefully watching over everyone. Baba, by Your grace You are always residing in my heart. Baba, with Your infinite compassion, no matter how difficult the circumstances are, You are always present to provide a gentle touch. Amongst the thorns & tears You are the soothing balm of the lotus flower which relieves all pains and sorrows; and in scorching heat of the burning fire You are that refreshing, calm, cool sandalwood. Baba, You are the ultimate Savior. When one has lost everything then in that bleak hour You are the only shelter. You are that divine jewel which makes everything else into a shining jewel as well. By Your touch, unit beings become divine. That is Your causeless grace. Baba, You are the best of everything. In the beautiful rose garden where all the flowers are aromatic and fragrant, You are the most gorgeous-- You are the most beautiful. Baba, You are the most effulgent Entity in this vast universe. Baba, You are the Cause of everything. You are the Source and You are the Origin. Baba, because You are, I am. You are the breath of my very life. Without You my whole existence is meaningless. Baba, You are my dearmost, You are my everything. You alone are the eternal lamp of my heart. Baba, please grace me by keeping me in Your divine shelter...
Namaskar, We all know that the singular, one-pointed goal of human life is to advance towards that Cosmic Hub. This is the great endeavour of human existence. And this is commonly known to each and every A'nanda Ma'rgii. For this reason Baba guides us that actual progress can only occur in the spiritual stratum-- i.e. when by dint of one's sadhana and by His grace the radius or distance between the sadhaka and Parama Purusa is decreased. So coming closer to Parama Purusa is the only progress.
Nowadays in the general society it is the common belief that purchasing a bigger house, or getting job promotion, or having one's name printed in the newspaper etc-- people generally think that this is a sign of progress. But Baba says no. Indeed even becoming a professor in Sanskrit is not a sign of progress. Because Baba's explicit guideline is that progress can only occur in the spiritual sphere. So whatever "advancements" one makes in the physical and mental spheres do not count as true progress. For example, if one gets a big job promotion that is only a sign of worldly change with respect to time, place, and person. Such a promotion in and of itself does not bring one any closer to Parama Purusa. Indeed it may even create a huge amount of vanity where one begins to forget Parama Purusa. So what to speak of progress-- that job promotion may be anti, if the result is that one moves further away from Parama Purusa.
So Baba's entire teaching is that actual progress means moving towards the Supreme Nucleus-- towards Baba. And that can only be done in the spiritual realm. Baba says, "Actual development, actual progress, cannot be in the realm of physicality or in the psychic world. Actual progress is where the proximity to Parama Purus'a is increasing -- that is, going closer to Parama Purus'a. That is progress. But while moving in this way, if the mind remains in that position, if the a'tma', spirit, remains in that position, only man invents new dress, and television, or radio, or so many teleprinters, and so many newer vehicles, is it progress? No. Progress is -- what? When he comes near this point. That is the only progress." "So there can be progress only in the spiritual sphere. In physical and psychic spheres there cannot be any progress. You will be where you were. Only when your spirit, your a'tman, your soul, comes closer to the starting point, that is the only progress, that's why there can be progress only in the spiritual stratum. Do you follow?" "...Spirituality means that which helps you in moving towards that goal from where you started your long journey. To go back to the original home after passing through so many lives, is the spiritual practice and spiritual progress." (AV-14) Here again is Baba's guideline on the point of true progress. Baba says, "We must remember that actual progress can be made only in the spiritual stratum. There cannot be any progress in the physical stratum, or the physico-psychic stratum, or even in the psychic stratum. Whatever is known as progress is actually change of place and nothing more." "Always remember, human life is very meaningful, and human beings can make it more meaningful through their own efforts. You have got human life. By dint of your actions and your sa'dhana' you will increase the value of your human life. Why should you live like ordinary humans? Become extraordinary! Extraordinary people ultimately raise themselves to divinity. That is, humans become devata's [gods], and devata's become Parama Brahma." "As you have got a human body, utilize it at every moment. Let there be maximum utilization of your very existence. Make your existence great by dint of your extraordinary action. Your life will become more and more meaningful if you do more and more work and more and more meditation." (SS-24, p.110) Namaskar, Gurucharan
****************************************** Blind Man's Understanding
Baba says, "In order to enable human beings to remove the mundane afflictions while keeping the Goal firmly in front of their eyes, PROUT philosophy has been formulated. There was no other alternative than to formulate PROUT." "Had it not been done, human misery would have lingered on for centuries and the opportunist and mean-minded people would have continued mercilessly exploiting the innocent." (AV-6, p. 52) Note: As explained above, Prout philosophy has been formulated by Baba for two distinct fundamental reasons: (a) To keep the mind fixed towards the Goal-- Parama Purusa. (b) To solve all the problems in human society. The overall idea being that any theory that does not have a divine Goal and only focuses on solving society's problems will not only render itself useless but will prove to be disastrous also. History has shown this. Here following is further explanation. In the first paragraph of Baba's above cited message, He is giving His special guideline that Prout is spiritually based, and that it 'keeps the Goal firmly in front of one's eyes'. And by this divine ideal, Baba has given Prout to alleviate the problems in all the sphere's of life. And in the second paragraph of the above quotation, Baba is telling us that materialistic approaches like communism utterly fail to properly guide the society. Communism attempted to cure the social ills by redistributing the wealth etc. But without a proper goal, communism only wreaked havoc on the people; communism just created more problems and worse destruction. So any socio-economic theory must be spiritually based-- this is Baba's teaching in Prout (Ref: PNS-6, p.27). Unfortunately these days, some so-called Proutist leaders in superficially advanced countries are busy misguiding others by claiming that certain non-margiis are also top-grade Proutists. Such so-called leaders wrongly think that spirituality is not needed for being a Proutist. So such leaders' understanding is comparable to one blind person's evaluation of an elephant. Blind people conclude that an elephant is like a rope or a pillar, depending upon what part they touch. So their understanding is devoid of any real sense. Similar then is the understanding of those so-called Prout leaders who think that Prout can be led by non-margiis. Their level of understanding is no better than that of one blind man.

Remedy For Trauma Patients

Date: Fri, 27 Mar 2009 22:23:42 -0400 From: Donald_G To: Subject: Remedy For Trauma Patients Baba "Ekahno ki prabhu toma'y du're tha'ka' bha'lo dekha'y..." 2332 Purport: Baba with deep longing in my heart I go on calling You. How can You feel good when You do not pay heed to my call. Do You think that this is appropriate. In calling You again and again my voice got hoarse until finally I completely lost my voice. But Your heart never melted. Baba, on which dusty earth have You sent me-- thus pushing me far from You. Why have You forgotten me. Is this the definition of Your love. Should I believe that what You are doing is proper. Baba Your liila is unfathomable; it is beyond my understanding. Why do You do like this. I do not have the proper language to express myself, but all these feelings which I am sharing with You come from deep within my heart. Baba, sometimes You make me cry & float in my tears; and sometimes You make me laugh when my heart is filled with Your longing. Baba, I do not know what to do. How long do I have to wait for Your heart to melt. Baba please come...
Namaskar, Here is yet another striking example of how AM sadhana - and not any other sadhana or therapy - really is the panacea for today's modern world.
Tragically, this globe is now full of grave injustices where people are terribly wronged and suffer a lot. The recently-coined term "post-traumatic stress disorder" (PTSD) has become a common phenomenon, especially in the west. Yet, unfortunately, in the east this critical problem is also starting to take root. Basically, when people are overwhelmed by a traumatic or horrifying experience - such as (a) the death of their child, (b) time in a Nazi concentration camp, (c) marital abuse, (d) tragedies of war, (e) sexual abuse, (f) being held hostage etc - then their mind shuts down and they are often buried in a state of psychic upheaval, revisiting those awful scenes again and again. They undergo a terrible mental crisis and extended suffering. In result, they fail to return to a normal frame of mind and are unable to function properly in life. Such victims have often been diagnosed with post-traumatic stress disorder (PTSD) - a terrible psychic malady. Many techniques have been tried to cure such patients through counseling, rehab, work-programs, drugs, support groups, relaxation, hypnosis, and even various types of meditation. But often those patients continue to suffer from their mental despair and PTSD for the remainder of their life. They are never the same again. Psychiatric and health-care professionals do not have a proper approach or cure.
While we can easily see how war veterans and victims of abuse (child abuse, wife abuse etc) fall prey to this terrible syndrome or PTSD, recently a group of Tibetan monks also suffered from this. Due to the harsh crackdown in Tibet wherein the Chinese military detained and tortured Buddhist monks, those monks tragically fell into a state of psychic disarray and were diagnosed with PTSD. Not to make light of the situation in any way, but this does bring up a striking point: Buddhist meditation was unable to break the spell of their mental trauma. It was unable to free those monks of their psychic suffering. The main reason is that the human mind needs something to think about. It will always seek an object of ideation, or abhoga. Baba says, "A'bhoga means occupation or pabulum..the mind also requires a pabulum; whatever object the mind confines itself to, that is its pabulum." (SS-11) But in Buddhist meditation, the aim is to empty the mind. When in reality, that is not possible. The mind will always to fill that psychic vacuum with something. In the case of PTSD patients, their mind gets flooded with those horrifying scenes and they relive those fateful days of suffering over and over again. That was what was happening with those Buddhist monks. Their meditative technique of emptying the mind was insufficient to overcome their issues of PTSD.
When traditional western approaches (counseling, drugs, therapy, hypnosis, etc) and when other meditative practices cannot cure those patients, then something else must be tried. The world is looking hard for a remedy for PTSD, as this mental ailment is rampant and becoming more prevalent as the pressures and tragedies of the day mount. Of course, as Ananda Margiis we know that Baba has given the real remedy. And that remedy is Ananda Marga sadhana. Only AM sadhana can remedy the situation and bring the patient back into a proper frame of mind.
The question then is why AM sadhana is the remedy and not any other type of meditation. The answer is that only AM sadhana is based on incantative power, pulsative force, and ideative method. For more about this read Baba's spiritual discourses like 'Mantra Caetanya', 'Tantra and Sadhana' etc. Plus only AM sadhana is fueled by the grace of Parama Purusa and utilizes siddha mantras. Even our Baba Nam Kevalam mantra is enough to cure patients of PTSD. As we know, in AM sadhana, the mind is vibrated by a mantra and goaded toward Brahma. Then the mind can no longer hold onto old, stale thoughts. The mind is forced to shift away from those tragic days of torture. Of course, there is a vast philosophical and rational base behind the rational system of our AM sadhana. When the mind is ensconced in this approach, then all kinds of psychic ailments can be cured, including PTSD. Soon the world will discover this.
To cure PTSD patients, the main thing is that those victims of torture and pain must be placed in a proper environment to properly practice AM sadhana. Sadhana camps, sadhana shivir, akhanda kiirtan, spiritual retreats are the perfect atmosphere to ensconce the mind in psycho-spiritual practices. Those with PTSD should be encouraged - if not mandated - to attend these functions. Then they can really be cured of their psychic maladies. Then they will not look back at those past events of pain, but their mind will surge ahead in a positive flow that will bring psychic equilibrium, stability, and the ability to greet life in a new way. Our AM sadhana has that requisite force. And it is our duty to create the right environment for those in need. By our sadhana camps and spiritual retreats, many PTSD patients will be cured.
Who can forget those days when Ananda Nagar was under siege in 1967. Step by step our AM was under attack from communists. So many nefarious things happened and countless Ananda Margiis were jailed and tortured. But those jails turned into a spiritual havens for our brothers and sisters of the Marga and so many Wts were created. It was really a phenomenon. Actually, those days, many groups, religions, and radicals were thrown in jail by Indira Gandhi's dictatorial regime. And those detainees often fell into woe and suffering. But not Ananda Margiis. Rather in jail, those margiis created a whirlwind of spiritual flow. Huge dharmacakras and akhanda kiirtans were held. Margiis on the outside were coming to attend. And there was a surge of psycho-spiritual force. Indeed, it was the talk of the town how. People were wondering why Ananda Margiis were not discourage, depressed, or sunken into woe because of being persecuted. That was what everyone was talking about. The answer of course is AM sadhana and devotional practices. That is why Ananda Margiis could rise above the torture of life in jail, whereas other detainees were depressed and falling prey to psychic maladies like PTSD etc.
Today there are so many psychic ailments, diseases, syndromes, and afflictions that are causing people to lose their mental balance. Thus far, western medical professionals and eastern meditative approaches cannot relieve patients of their mental suffering. A Buddhist meditation or new age relaxation made offer a touch of help for those leading an already normal life. But such techniques are not strong enough to clear the mind from more serious psychic afflictions like PTSD. And western drugs and therapy sessions are not the right way. Drugs bring so many problems and therapy attendees end up talking about their problems, thus again plunging the mind in those painful memories. That is why to this day, Vietnam war veterans and Holocaust victims continue to suffer from mental imbalances, depression, fateful memories etc. They may try eastern techniques or western approaches, but a cure is not found. The world however has not stopped looking for solutions and very soon they will come to realize that our AM sadhana is the remedy.
By Baba's grace we have to move forward in our own spiritual practices. That will give us the inspiration, innovation, energy, and insight to bring AM sadhana to the masses. Then so many people can be benefited, including those suffering from PTSD. Baba says, "A correct spiritual ideology is the only solution to the problems confronting the world. From this perspective we can call Ananda Marga ideology the philosophers’ stone. Just as the philosophers’ stone is meant to transform everything into gold, Ananda Marga ideology can, most definitely, find a just and rational solution whenever it is applied to any problem." (POD #36) Namaskar, Divyajyoti
****************************************** Who is Real Human Being
Baba says, "Parama Purusa will be pleased when you serve His creation-- not only human beings, but also plants, animals, and the rest of creation. That is bhu'ta yajina, pite yajina, and nr yajina are to be performed. Those who have this feeling are human beings in the real sense of the term." (AV-3, p.58) Note: Usually so-called advanced people do most things solely for their own self-gratification and personal entertainment etc. Sometimes it may look like they are doing social service work, but it is not social service in the true sense. Because they are doing that "service" only to enhance their own prestige and to garner praise from all around. And proof is that they themselves brag about the little things that they did. So what they are doing is just business, not service. If in their various duties and works anyone does not feel that they are truly serving the progeny of Parama Purusa, then we cannot call such people proper human beings.

This We Should All Know

Date: 26 Mar 2009 23:06:07 -0000 From: "Subhash Dholakia" To: Subject: This We Should All Know Baba "Ye ga'ne toma'ke shon'a'i tumi ki shon' na' priyo..." (PS 4471) Purport: Oh my dearmost Baba, I want You to know my inner thoughts and feelings. Why don't You listen to the song which I am singing solely for You? Why do You neglect that song which is coming directly from the core of my heart. O' Baba, that song expresses the longing and yearning of my heart. Yet it seems that very song You do not care about-- why like this. Baba, when the flower that blossoms on this earth emanates aroma all around, when then is that very flower lying on the dust & crying. Can that be forgotten and ignored forever? Should it just be left there by itself-- just to wilt and die? Baba if it pleases You, You can take back all those mundane things which You have given me. Only one request I have: Please remain constantly in my ideation, in the depths of my heart, always. That is my sole desire. O' my dearmost Baba, I yearn only for You; please grace me by coming close...
Namaskar, A couple simple people get confused when they read this following sutra of Ananda Sutram. Here below in this sutra Baba is stating that all the physical, psychic, and spiritual potentialities of this entire creation should be maximally utilised.
5-14 Vyast'isamas't'isha'riirama'nasa'dhya'tmikasambha'vana'ya'm' caramo' payogashca
Purport: "There should be maximum utilization of the physical, metaphysical, and spiritual potentialities of unit and collective bodies of human society." (AS, p.49) Some in their misunderstanding think that Baba's above Proutistic teaching is related with the attainment and use of occult powers. Here follow is some review of this entire matter.
When a sadhaka does sadhana and strictly follows 16 Points then they naturally develop in all the ways-- in all the spheres. This is the natural process. Such that usually most good sadhakas are hardly even aware about their own growth. It is similar to the case of the step-wise, progressive growth and development that we all experienced as infants and young children. Because all are born as small babies and gradually as we get older and older then huge developmental changes take place. But in one's own day-to-day, regular existence, often people are not aware about or nor do they even recognise their own growth-- how much they change day by day. Yet over a measurable span of time a major shift or growth takes place. For example, after 15-20 years one infant becomes a strong youth. But that youth himself is unaware of his own drastic development. Just he feels it is his natural growth. But those who have not seen him since 10 years will think that a huge transformation has taken place. In a similar way when a person practices sadhana sincerely with a pointed mind, and they are regular and strictly following all the do's and don'ts, conduct rules, asanas, and are graced with devotion for Guru, then certainly the sadhaka's whole personality gets changed.
Like this, various types of supernatural powers come to each and every sadhaka, although they are not aware. Nor do they desire those things because their mind is pointed to Parama Purusa and not towards those occult powers. So neither are they aware, nor is it their desire. Means it was not their intention to acquire those powers because they were just devotionally linked with Parama Purusa. And this happens not just with one sadhaka, but with all sincere margiis and Wts-- if one is sincere and strict in their spiritual routine and practices. Then surely such things develop by the grace of Parama Purusa. There are innumerable cases where this has happened. Naturally then these supernatural powers just manifest in one's regular conduct, in their daily way of dealing, speech, behaviors etc. In that way it manifests and projects in a very natural manner. And it happens to varying degrees. If one is very high and very pointed then it expresses more, and if less pointed then not as much. But certainly some change takes place accordingly in everyone.
Because of this, margiis understand the pains and sufferings of others and with their full heart they are always busy in helping others. Baba says, "One should lighten one's mind and become simple, soft, and kind-hearted; and by this way one can understand the tales of others suffering. In that condition only will you be able to serve the world. In that human mind where pain is hidden and where tears have accumulated, that mind you have to understand, realise, and feel. Then you will be able to remove their sorrow. To understand the feeling of the crying heart of suffering people, in sadhakas this type of supernatural power comes. This is called mahima." (SS-18, Hindi) So sadhakas are not using occult power-- rather it expresses in a very natural way. And that is what Baba explains in His above teaching.
All those saints in the past, because of their love for Parama Purusa, they understood the feeling of suffering and their love was not limited with a particular tribe or community or color or race. So these extraordinary human qualities are just the expression of occult powers in the life of a sadhaka. But with crude people, those devoid of true spiritual feeling, they do not have this. Here we are not talking about the expression of superficial love which expresses in very limited and narrow way. Like love for one's own children but hating other children. Or when dying for one's own race, country, or community but exploiting other countries etc. Or eulogizing one's own superiority and belittling others' good things. Such things we see and there are many so-called good people in the society who have done many things for their personal family, caste, color or religion. And there are various so-called monks who have completely dedicated themselves to a particular race and they encourage hatred with other races and don't hesitate even to engage in mass murder. The religious history is like that. No doubt in their own particular, narrow community they may be treated as something great, but in truth they are low because they do not have universal feeling. Their "love" is based on selfishness. Just like the various sects of Christianity are doing many types of good things and it looks like they are pouring their heart for the suffering humanity; but in true sense they did such works just for the spreading of their own religion and for their own view or narrow cause. Not out of any greater feeling of universal compassion.
The whole point is that when true sadhana is there, then the mind will expand and supernatural powers will come and those sadhakas will have love for everyone. And they will be able to understand others' pain. Otherwise by doing some avidya Tantra practices, then that avidya tantric gets some supernatural powers but that brings their degeneration.
Here following is Baba's blessing. Baba says, "You will surely attain spiritual progress. And because of your spiritual progress, you will come closer and closer to the Supreme Consciousness, you will come in contact with His psychic waves. And in that state you will be able to render still better service to human beings, animals and plants, by means of Neo-Humanism. May you all be blessed." (NHNS-2) Namaskar, Subhash
Baba says, "You will have to provide a soothing touch to the physical, physico-psychic and psycho-physical spheres of life, otherwise human existence will become meaningless...We will have to locate the source of these troubles...we will be removing the miseries...permanently remove those afflictions, which will rectify the sources of troubles in the proper way. (NHNS-2, p. 36) In this above quote Baba says that when one has devotion then they can understand others' pain and difficulties and thus they are able to help and serve them. This is the proper explanation of Ananda Sutram, Sutra 5-14. Because it is not showing occult power for one's greatness. And each and every margii has such feelings to varying degrees. Many margiis I know who earlier were meat-eaters, but after doing sadhana then what to say about not killing animals, their higher sense developed and they feel love for everyone. And day and night they are busy for serving others. They do not feel that their own problem is any problem, rather just they are busy in relieving others' suffering. This does not happen out of the blue. Only due to sincerity & devotion-- and with that the aforesaid supernatural powers came and changed their entire behavior to varying degrees. Those who do not have such feeling in their dealing and behavior, it proves that they are away from such love of Parama Purusa. And instead they are engaged in self-propaganda, self-prestige, killing and destroying others for the sake of post. In that unfortunate circumstance none can say that AM sadhana has some demerits, rather such crude persons could not practice or follow Baba's teaching.
Here Baba is directly explaining that Prout shows that those who are elevated spiritually will have to render service to the society. So this dispels the myth which some harbour that Prout is related with occult powers. Or in other words, those who think that Sutra 5-14 from Ananda Sutram is related with the use of occult powers are wrong because in not one but in so many places Baba guides us that those with spiritual wealth will have to serve-- not use occult powers per se. And here is the proof. Baba says, "I have told in the Prout philosophy that those who have spiritual strength, from them we will take spiritual service for the society. Such sadhakas who sit in Himalayan caves and go on doing penance but do not teach anybody or guide anybody-- that will not be approved. They will have to serve. They will have to do spiritual service. To them I do not say pull a rickshaw, but if they will not do spiritual service, and if they will just sit in Himalayan caves and not come in contact with the world, and instead they will tell that the world is illusion, yet at the same time they will go on eating fruits and roots and accept such service from other human beings of this world-- these things will not continue any longer. That has been going on for a long time, but it will not continue any longer; that day has gone." (AV-4, Hindi)
By the conduct we can see one's character because Baba says conduct is the main thing-- it is the mirror of the mind. By that way we can see who is margii and who is non-margii etc. Because the point is that in our Marga we can see that those who are doing sadhana their conduct will be quite apparent. Whereas if someone's conduct shows narrow-mindedness, groupism, and mean propensities then we have to think and understand that that person is not doing proper sadhana. So on the basis of one's conduct we can see who is a senior margii and who is not. Here it should be understood that seniority is not a matter of years but rather a matter of conduct. Even if one was initiated just one month ago but if they exemplify strong conduct with regards to 16 Points, then surely they come in the category of senior margiis. And vice-versa. So seniority is dependent upon how far someone is pointed and committed to AM ideology and to what degree that is reflected in their conduct. Hence conduct is the main distinguishing factor to understand who is who and what is what.
The delicate point is that if sadhakas are pointed towards the Goal (Ista) then naturally all these supernatural powers come. And their whole conduct becomes better and better. But those who are asking for occult powers, they are getting that & then they misuse them and get degenerated. So such powers are not to be asked for in sadhana, rather the Goal is Parama Purusa. And on the way such things may come and the conduct will change and generosity will come and true sadvipra qualities will emerge and by that way such sadhakas will be an asset to the society. But no one should ask for getting occult power. That is wrong and it brings ruination.
Those who think that those humans who get occult powers are great that is nonsense. Because in Prabhat Samgiita #3333 Baba reveals what happens to those who chase after occult powers:
"- Aes't'ashvaryya tumi cha'r'a'... kare viveka-ha'ra' -"
Purport: O' Parama Purusa only You utilise the occult powers in proper way; whereas all those others who use them destroy their conscience. Means they start doing all kinds of negative things. In trying to show their occult powers they end up destroying and killing others and they themselves will be invite negative samskaras such that they will be degenerated into stone, wood or mud. So what to say about serving others, rather those lusting after occult powers destroy themselves.
*************************************** Unruly Free Mixing between Males and Females?
Parama Purusa Baba says, "It does not require the harnessing of any elaborate logic or reasoning to convince people that the final outcome of permissiveness is not healthy. But it is also true that the result of free mixing in society, without self-control, is bad...Hence, along with the recognition of the freedom of the two sexes, a well-judged code of self-control will also have to be associated with their mutual mixing." (HS-1, p. 35)

Grandeur of Prabhat Samgiita

Date: Wed, 25 Mar 2009 23:06:39 -0000 To: From: Subject: Grandeur of Prabhat Samgiita Baba PS Intro: This below song reflects that deeply spiritual truth how Parama Purusa is always graciously calling the jiivas towards His divine Self through His eternal sound of omnkara-- His murali dhvani, the divine sound of Cosmic Consciousness. "Tumi je d'ekecho a'ma'y, a'ja je ghare tha'ka' da'y..." (PS 736) Purport: Baba, it is impossible for me to remain here in my house because by Your grace You have called me to come close to You. Baba, I want to respond to Your gracious call. Baba, it is difficult to comprehend how wonderfully magical Your tunes and melodies are. Baba, You are so charming. Baba, in the abode of my mind the divine vibrations of Your flute resonate incessantly-- ceaselessly. By Your grace I hear Your flute always: While sleeping, in my dreams, and in my awakened state. Baba, You are so gracious; You are residing in my heart all the time, all the 24hrs. Baba, even if I want to forget You, how can I forget You. Baba, Your greatness is beyond conception. No matter how many octaves I know, You are remaining beyond them all. You are beyond the reach of my limited human capacity. Baba, by Your grace the resonance of Your divine flute makes me float beyond all the lokas in Your rhythm, in Your song, and in Your blissful melodies. Baba, O' Divine Entity, please give me shelter at Your lotus feet...
Namaskar, Everyone who has been blessed by Parama Purusa to enter into A'nanda Ma'rga understands deep in their heart that Baba's divine compositions of Prabhat Samgiita are highly devotional treasures and something very special.
And while His Prabhat Samgiita have so many unique and charming attributions, one of the special qualities of His divine songs is that the entire AM ideology is contained within Prabhat Samgiita-- indirectly, in seed form.
In particular, with regards to the song presented up above, Prabhat Samgiita #736, Baba is beautifully & descriptively expressing that supreme idea that Parama Purusa is always calling His devotees closer and closer unto His divine lap. His omnkara is forever resounding drawing us ever nearer to Him, sweetly pulling sadhakas away from any mundane allurements. So while in the above song the sadhaka may feel some slight mundane attraction for his own house or other worldly things, ultimately by His divine grace that sadhaka leaves those mundane attachments behind and responds to the Supreme call of Parama Purusa. By that way the sadhaka races with deep attraction after Him, by Baba's grace. This is the central theme that is expressed in the above Prabhat Samgiita.
And, as we all know, using different language this same idea Baba has also expressed in countless discourses. For instance, here below is one such example. Baba says, "With cosmic ideation set out from the starting point of moralism and advance towards supreme realisation. Your feet may bleed, cut by the thorns scattered on the road, the sky, rent asunder by the lightning and crashing thunder of the fearful storm, may fall on your head, but proceed you must. You are a born fighter. To flee the battle in fear and hide like a corpse in the hills is ultravarious to your existential vitality. You must advance towards the Supreme Entity, your original abode, smashing all obstacles on the path. From time immemorial you have been listening to the sweetness of His divine call. Can you remain oblivious to it, engrossed in your little world created by Ma'ya'?"
Chot'e ye jan ba'shiir t'a'ne Se ki ta'ka'y pather pa'ne ?
The one who rushes towards the call of a flute, Does he ever look behind?
"Merge the propensities expressed by your indriyas into citta (mind stuff), citta into ahamtattva (doer I), ahamtattva into mahattattva (existential-I feeling), mahattattva into jiiva'tma' (unit consciousness) and jiiva'tma' into Parama'tma' (Universal Consciousness). That will be your Supreme fulfillment, the state beyond which there remains nothing to be attained." (SS-5) So just as Prabhat Samgiita #736 expresses the devotional concept that Parama Purusa is always calling and attracting devotees towards Him, similarly in His above discourse in the realm of philosophy Baba is expressing this same notion. And not just in this discourse but numerous discourses express this same idea.
So initially, through His various discourses, Baba first unveiled the spiritual science of Ananda Marga as He described in philosophical parlance how jiivas are to move ahead and attain Him. And then later on through the medium of poetry and song, i.e. through Prabhat Samgiita, Baba colourfully portrayed these same spiritual ideas: How human beings are to proceed unto Him. The main difference between the two being that in His discourses Baba is using impersonal prose and philosophical language. Whereas in His Prabhat Samgiita, Baba has employed a very personal and intimate mode of expression: Where devotees are directly communicating with Parama Purusa. So the overall meaning of the ideas in His discourses are all expressed in Prabhat Samgiita. And the specialty of Prabhat Samgiita is that those philosophical ideas are getting expressed in a very personal way-- where the devotee has a direct link with Him. The sadhaka is expressing his innermost feelings to Baba in a most intimate setting. In Prabhat Samgiita then there is a direct line of communication with Parama Purusa whereas in AM discourses that personal link is not present-- in the discourse there is not a personal connections where one is directly talking to Parama Purusa. Thus in the earlier era, before 1982, Baba was expressing those spiritual and devotional ideas in a philosophical and literary way through His discourses. That was the only mode of expression those days. And then, later on, when the time was ripe, He graciously shared with us a more devotional approach of expressing those same spiritual concepts through the medium of Prabhat Samgiita. By that way those same philosophical ideas could get expressed in a more intimate and devotional way by having a direct link with Parama Purusa. In that sense we can say that His AM philosophy got transformed into a deeply devotional practice. All of AM ideology has been devotionally expressed in Prabhat Samgiita, by His grace.
Here is another example of how in His discourses Baba uses the medium of philosophical writings to explain how Parama Purusa graces the devotee by calling him closer and still more close. Baba says, "The jiivabha'va [microcosmic bearing] moves towards Krs'n'a, Paramashiva, the pineal gland in the sahasra'ra cakra, as a result of sa'dhana', and the mind also becomes introverted in gradual steps. When the kun'd'alinii reaches the navel cakra, or man'ipura cakra, that is called vraja bha'va in Vaes'n'ava Tantra. And when it moves from the navel cakra to the trikut'i, or a'jina' cakra, that is known as gopii bha'va. And when it rises past the a'jina' cakra, that is known as advaya bha'va or Ra'dha' bha'va. Thus there are these three stages." "During this process, one will hear the eternal sound of pran'ava [the onm sound] in the vast maha'ka'sha [void] in different ways, according to the different levels which the mind has reached. Sometimes one first hears the sound of rumbling clouds, sometimes ankle bells, sometimes the roar of the sea. When after hearing different sounds in this way the mind reaches the trikut'i, one hears the sweet and harmonious sound of the flute. These are various expressions of the pran'ava sound. The pran'ava sound is heard as the trikut'i or a'jina' cakra is crossed, but then when the mind merges with Krs'n'a or Paramashiva there is no sound, the silence itself is the sound. There is no expression. These are some of the secrets of sa'dhana'. The spiritual aspirant hears the various sounds of onm'ka'ra or pran'ava at various stages, during deep sa'dhana', during sweet sa'dhana'. The sound is called Krs'n'a's muraliidhvani. The sa'dhaka becomes mad because of this sound and goes deeper and attains Ra'dha' bha'va more and more, and rushes headlong forward." (AV-17) By reading the above passage one can easily grasp how the essence of Baba's above discourse is also uniquely expressed in His Prabhat Samgiita #736. Once again showing that AM ideology is neatly contained within Prabhat Samgiita.
While the devotional expression of Baba's Prabhat Samgiita is unparalleled. There are other practical reasons why He has graciously composed Prabhat Samgiita and used that as a means of putting forth AM ideological principles. One of the main reasons is that when ideas or words are put in lyrical form then it is much easier to recall or memorise those exact expressions. Because there is a melody line and because those ideas are compactly expressed. For that reason remembering the exact lines of a stanza of Prabhat Samgiita is much easier than remembering the exact lines of a paragraph of any discourse. So this is one other distinct advantage of Prabhat Samgiita. And of course one of the other major advantages is that the sadhaka is directly communicating with Parama Purusa. Plus there is more. And everyone should also write in with their realisations about the unique nature of Prabhat Samgiita.
Overall then we should seek to see each and every Prabhat Samgiita on a deeper level-- going beyond the literal expression. By His grace we should try to understand what are the underlying philosophical concepts that Baba is putting through the intimate and personal style of Prabhat Samgiita.
By Baba's grace we are all blessed to have come in contact with Prabhat Samgiita. Baba says, "The collective name of dance, song and instrumental music is sam'giita...[these] three things which are very much in use in the objective world but which are, at the same time, immensely helpful in spiritual life as well: these three are collectively known as sam'giita." (AFPS-3) Namaskar, Virendra
Here is another example of how the whole philosophical concept expressed in the below passage is contained in the aforementioned Prabhat Samgiita. Baba says, "When they merge their "I"-feeling (mahattattva) with all their joys and sorrows, thoughts and moods, hopes and aspirations in Parama Purus'a, there remains no reflection, and no unit consciousness: there remains only the One Supreme Entity. They should not attach any importance to obstacles they may meet along the way. Trampling down on the thorns on the path, they must move ahead, undaunted. Parama Purus'a is also attracting all created beings towards Himself, and they consciously or unconsciously are moving towards Him. No one can escape this movement. When people realise that they are moving towards Him, the speed of their movement is tremendously accelerated. They move on and on, meeting no defeat."
Chot'e ye jan banshiir t'a'ne Se ki ta'ka'y pather pa'ne Those who rush in response to the call of the Divine Flute-- do they pause to look back?
"Whatever might be the obstacles, the devotee must move on like a flying bird. True spiritual aspirants will never be frightened by any circumstances, for they are born warriors, ready to move on amidst all struggles. They will smash all obstacles relentlessly. This is the creed of their lives." "What is the result of this headlong rush towards the Supreme One? The result is that one becomes one with the Supreme Entity. Hence the devotees channelise all their longings and urges towards that Supreme One." (SS-10)
Prabhat Samgiita number 736 also reflects the spiritual concepts from this below discourse. Baba says, "Every movement has a rhythm, and every rhythm has a sound. The countless waves of this vast universe also have their respective sounds. The devotees say that Parama Purus'a is an embodiment of love. They say that out of His infinite love for the microcosms He eternally plays His sweet flute, vibrating this vast universe with its divine sound. When spiritual aspirants attain a certain degree of spiritual progress, they are able to hear that divine sound. This divine sound is called onm'ka'ra. All the sound waves of this universe have their source in Him. They emanate from the point of beginninglessness to the point of endlessness, and will continue to emanate eternally." "The kulakun'd'alinii shakti (serpentine power) rises upwards in accordance with the divine sound. As it rises through successively higher stages one hears the sound of crickets, ankle bells and the melodious sound of the flute. This is called the sweet sound of Krs'n'a's flute. It is neither a dream nor a fantasy. All of you will hear it one day. A mystic poet said,"
Chut'e ye jan ba'nshiir t'a'ne Se ki ta'ka'y pather pa'ne
"For those who listen to that melodious flute sound, nothing is an obstacle. They will move irresistibly towards the Supreme." (SS-8)
******************************************** Food Affects Protoplasmic Cells
Baba says, "Whatever I get, that I will eat" - this must not be the policy of a sane being. This human body is a composite of protoplasmic cells, and these protoplasmic cells are made of the food we take in. If the food and drink is defective, then the protoplasmic cells will also become defective, and the human mind, which is the collective mind of so many protoplasmic minds, will also become defective. That is why ta'masik or static food has
a negative influence on the human mind." (SS-18 p.3)

(PS 1813) Purport: Baba whether You choose to respond or not, but I will go on calling You through my kiirtan, sadhana, and dhya'na. To go on calling You is my duty-- it is my work. And by this way I will also be able to know what work You have. Baba, the rush of the restless breeze and the humming of the swaying trees in the forest go on calling You always. Do You reply to their call or not? I will ask them secretly about this. Baba, with deep yearning and longing, devotees make their garlands for You-- in the burning heat of the flame and in the cold chill of the fog. Baba, are you understanding their pain and suffering. If You do not understand then with the heartfelt composition of a song, I will explain their feelings to You. O' my dearmost Baba, I will call out to You again and again, please grace me by giving a response...
~ Part 2 ~
Note: This is in follow-up to the first letter on this topic:
Namaskar, Today's world is in a dire fix - a difficult situation. One of the main causes is the relationship between science and civilization - i.e. technological advancements and the way they affect society. That is why Baba has issued a grave warning: If the relationship between science and civilization is not addressed - our civilization will be no more.
In AM, we all know that Baba is in favour of the use and development of science. Baba says, "It is evident that those who criticize science in reality want to turn the onward current of the Ganges backwards towards it source, which totally contradicts the principles of dynamics. " (AFPS-2) So Baba firmly guides us that the right and rational use of science is a requirement for the growth and sustenance of a healthy human society. Side by side Baba also warns us that when science gains more stature than civilization, then society meets its destruction. Baba says, "Where scientific progress supersedes civilization, there civilization meets its Waterloo." (AFPS-6) So it is our duty to understand what this means and evaluate what is happening in today's world. What is meant by civilization? And, how is science taking shape today? These are the types of questions we are to contemplate. At the same time, we should brainstorm ways to keep science as a benevolent tool of humanity.
In a phrase Baba defines civilization as the following: Baba says, "The subtle sense of refinement that we come across in the different expressions of life is called civilization." (PNS-6) In plain language, that means in a civilized society, if an elderly person falls down on the road, then people will quickly come to help him. In a civilized society, people wash themselves properly before eating food. In a civilized society, there is concern for all children and no member of society should suffer needlessly. In a civilized society, a person will never be subject to capital punishment (i.e. death). In a civilized society, people will daily chant the name of the Lord. In a civilized society, there will be freedom of expression and that expression will be sentient in nature. So civilization means the extent to which the finer aspects of human understanding have been incorporated into daily life. However, where this is absent and science is grossly on top and in the hands of malevolent people, that is when there is grave danger to that society. In the past, both the Greeks and Egyptians met their downfall because science overpowered the tenets of their civilization. Debauchery, military torture, and the general misuse of science led to the crumbling of their empires. A similar event is going on today.
Nowadays, machines are used for the heightened production of cocaine, heroine and other drugs, such that that violence and profits amid drug cartels is at all all-time high. For more info, just investigate what is going on in Mexico these days. Internet scams are cropping up everywhere- stealing money from innocent people and agencies, and all kinds of other fraud. The internet is also a favorite medium of pornography and various other sexually laced brands. Huge money is being pumped into the latest technologies in order to fight wars in distant lands and threaten countries halfway around the world. All these things and more are clear-cut evidences how the misuse of scientific advancement is undercutting the humane development and sentient growth of our society. Yet at the same time, social problems like disease, starvation, homelessness, poor schools, etc are rampant and systemic problems in nearly every part of the world. Yet all the while, science is being used in more and more notorious ways. That is because those in power - the government, war lords, drug cartels, etc - all use or more precisely misuse science for their own selfish ends, and overlook the real needs of the people.
So on the one side, those in control are using science unjustly, and side by side if we look around we can see how civilization is on the wane. Today, it has become acceptable for couples to give birth before getting married. Pre-marital sex and teenage pregnancy has become the norm. Those new-borns are being raised in inadequate environments and due to a lack of motherly love and parental guidance, those children often grow up to commit awful crimes. They blow up schools, attack others, and do so many heinous acts. What is the root cause? Lack of a civilized approach to family planning. This problem in individual life causes the degradation of the human beings involved. And indeed, there are numerous examples of how lack of a civilized approach undermines human life. Drinking too much alcohol, eating flesh foods, gambling etc all lead to the demise of the individual.
Just at this occurs in individual life, when civilized manners are not cultivated in the collective realm, then trouble erupts. Then science and technology fall into the wrong hands and are used in negative ways. Baba says, "There is no fault in the development of science. Time is also not to blame. The fault rests with us. Science does not tell us to use nuclear energy in destructive ways. To do so is to use science to establish our animality." (AMIWL-2) Science itself then is not the problem, but it is the wielders of science who are at fault. And that takes expression in numerous respects. Whether it be emitting toxins into the air, filling the earth with garbage, misguided medical research, abortions, failed justice systems, crude military maneuvers, or the like, where civilization is lacking, then the misuse of science comes to the fore, and society falls. This is the pattern. And that is why that same problem that led to the downfall of Egypt and Greece is knocking on our doorstep today. Baba says, "Take, for instance, the history of Egypt and Greece. So long as the scientific progress of these two countries did not supersede civilization, civilization prospered very well. But when the ingredients of enjoyment grew up in abundance, the civilization of both countries got destroyed, because science had occupied a higher position than civilization." (AFPS-6) Hence the situation facing us now is dire. There is no shortage of evidences which show that science is in the wrong hands and that our civilized expressions are all but gone. When this happens, the very existence of that society is threatened. That is Baba's grave warning.
The question then is, how to escape this predicament. One of the best ways is to implement restrictions and stipulations regarding the use of science. Just as we have child safety regulations and laws regarding the use of the internet by minors, we should have similar rules in place for everyone. This is not to suppress anyone's rights or freedoms but rather to aim people's growth in a sentient direction and protect them from negative tendencies. A moral board is needed that will create ways to do this. And that board will aim for the welfare of society. Just as parents create guidelines aimed for the welfare of the child, similarly we need benefactors at the helm who can create guidelines for all members of society. That will be a big boon for our human family. Please also write in with your suggestions about how to manage the use of science for the benefit of all, where people are not prone to using science in negative ways.
A society that is able to bring science into sentient use will bring happiness and welfare to all: Sarvajanahita'rtham' sarvajanasukha'rtham'. Then science will be used to wipe out disease, minimize our toiling in mundane affairs and grant us lots of time for higher pursuits like the fine arts and sadhana. That is Baba's vision for the use of science. Thus science itself is not antithetical to the development of our human society. Rather it is an integral component. Without science we will be forever stuck in the dark ages. By His grace when the high advancement of science is match by our highly civilized ways, then the golden era will descend on this earth. This will pave the way toward human fulfillment. So we must have more and more science, but balanced with a great civilization.
By Baba's grace we will escape today's precarious situation and create a world where civilization and science stand on equal ground. Then science will invariably propel us forward and not into the depths of degradation and destruction as is now happening. Baba says, "For human progress the cultivation of science must always be welcomed, but it is desirable that this cultivation of science should be carried out under the supervision of sadvipras." (PNS-6) Baba says, "Science should be just like art: science for service and beatitude. Art for service and beatitude, I said; and now I say, science is also for service and beatitude. Science should always be utilized for the proper progress of human society." (PNS-9) Namaskar, Tapeshvar
Here again Baba guides us how we are to appreciate scientific development and not forget science as happened under Gandhi and during the Buddhist age in India. Baba says, "Nowadays a group of people allege that science is the root of all evils and that new scientific inventions have created dissention in human society, pushing human civilization along the path of destruction...Some people seem to enjoy making useless criticisms against science all the time. Such criticisms, of course, come from those who have lost their vitality and capacity to adjust to new situations, and from those who, due to their physical inertia, have accepted some dogmatic notion as established fact." (AFPS-2)
************************************** Some Medicines
Baba says, "The third health-determining element is kapha, or the liquid, viscous portion of the body. Excess kapha creates spontaneous heat within the body which manifests externally as fever...Ginger is the enemy of kapha, the destroyer of kapha. Thus one name of ginger in ayurveda is kapha'ri. Similarly, arum or elephant root is the destroyer of arsha [piles] so arum in Sanskrit is called arsha'ri or arshaghnii." (SC-3, p. 103) Note: The first two health determining elements are va'yu and pitta.

Expulsion & A'tma Sukha Tattva

Date: Sun, 22 Mar 2009 23:57:11 -0000 Subject: Expulsion & A'tma Sukha Tattva To: From: Satiish K Bhatia" Baba "Toma'y kabhu ka'che pa'i na'i, gun' shuniya'chi lok mukhe..." (PS 2934) Purport: Baba, You are the most charming One. O' my dearmost, I long for You day and night. Baba, I do Your sadhana and spiritual practices always, but I do not ever get You close. Baba, I try hard to see You in dhyana but I do not get You. I do not have that first-hand experience of You in sadhana. Just I have heard people talk about Your glories. Baba, the devotees say that You are gracious and that You shower Your divine love. Baba, I have heard so much about Your greatness and glory but I myself do not have any practical realisation or direct experience of You and Your sweetness. Baba, I do not have any personal realisation of You. O' my dearmost, why don't You come to me; why are You not listening to my call; why don't You call my name and telling me that 'I love You'. O' Lord, in my practices I long for You and call You with my mantra but neither do You listen to my call nor do You come close. Baba, You do not respond at all to my calling of Your name, my chanting in Kiirtan, or my longing for You in sadhana. Baba, please grace me by coming close. Baba, You are the Polestar in the dark night. You give inspiration to those who lose the path. If anyone does not know what to do and what not to do, then by Your grace You show them the pathway to move ahead. You show them how to get You. Baba, in the hopeless heart, You are full of hope. You graciously reassure those who have lost all hope. You shower Your grace on those who have been abandoned by everyone in the society. Nobody cares about them and they live a life of gloom. Baba, on all such people You shower Your grace and bless them with Your varabhaya mudra. Baba, You shower Your effulgence in the helpless citta; Baba, I do not have any practical realisation of You; I am not a realised soul. Even then my heart feels trust and love for You-- and I feel that You are my Saviour. Baba, my heart longs to surrender at Your alter. O' my dearmost when anyone's citta-- mental sphere-- is full of gloom and despair, You give them hope, light, and inspiration. By Your grace You also give them the path. By that way they feel their life is not worthless. Baba, because of Your infinite compassion I surrender my everything at Your alter-- even though I do not have any practical realisation of You in my life. But just I have heard so much about You from others. Baba, You are infinite. You are beyond all perception. You are beyond language, and beyond the ideation of song. Baba You remain ever-present in the eternal memory. O' my dearmost, Your greatness cannot be expressed in words. All poems and prose fail to express Your grandeur. O' Parama Purusa, Your glory cannot be sung and You are always established in the world of divinity. Baba, You go on dancing in the flow of the rhythm. Baba, You are expressing Your grandeur of sweetness in all the directions. Baba, Your greatness is emanating everywhere. Baba, wherever one looks they can see You present in Your most charming and sweet form.* O' Baba, please come and manifest Yourself so I can see You sitting eternally in my heart. Baba, make my entire existence effulgent in Your effulgence...
* "Bha'sa'r atiite bha'ver giitite...": The whole idea of this stanza is expressed in this below excerpt from one of His discourses. Baba says, "His radiance is beyond the power of your sensual comprehension. You cannot conceive of His radiance...It is not an easy task to apprehend his extreme radiance. For this, vigorous sa'dhana' is indispensable. Imagine how wonderfully radiant He must be, before whom the moon, the stars, the lightning, the fire - all become pale. If you cannot see even the sun with your bare eyes, imagine what a tremendous amount of sa'dhana' is necessary to see Him." "It is with His radiance that every object is radiant. None of the objects has any radiance of its own. The moon is bright with the sun's brightness, and the sun is bright with His. The sun is not jyotisvarupa (characteristically self-effulgent), it is He alone who is jyotisvarupa. In His radiance there is depth but no severity, there is sweetness but no harshness. Observe His calm brilliance in the firmament of your heart. Shunning all inferiority complexes, move on the path of sa'dhana'. The only purpose of your being a human being is to do sa'dhana'. The life of one who does not do it passes in vain like a tree struck by lightning." (AMIWL-5)
Namaskar, Expulsion is a divisive and rancid dogma that has no place in our AM way of life, none whatsoever. This fact most everyone understands. However, all the various groups-- B, H, & EC, etc-- have their own unique feeling about expulsion. Such groupist WT leaders cherish this hatchet of expulsion, as long as this deadly weapon satisfies their own interest. And when the fateful moment arrives that an "expulsion order" goes against their personal desire, then they cry out loudly for all to hear. This is the hypocritical way the groupist mentality works on this crude formula of expulsion. So the divine teachings of our AM ideology unequivocally state that there is no such thing as expulsion in our Marga. And the various dogmatic groupists murmur, 'Expulsion is okay-- so long as I am the wielder of this tool'. Now let us see how all this is playing out these days on the groupist battlefield.
First and foremost is Baba's divine decree that the neo-humanistic laws of our Marga stand far above the lowly and dogmatic ways of expulsion. Baba says, "A'nanda Ma'rga has formed a society which frames its laws on the basis of common ideals in order to develop the idea of one-ness of all humanity. This society is radically different from any existing society, for it provides a society with a common bond where there is no distinction between class or sex, where no one is declared an outcast..." (AFPS-7, p.6) So according to Baba's above teachings there is absolutely no scope for any type of expulsion in our Marga. Because in the words of Baba, ours is a society "where no one is declared an outcast". So the nasty weapon of expulsion is not at all permitted; it is contrary to the just laws and dharmic policies of AM.
The golden dictates of Baba's above teaching are enough for anyone to clearly and conclusively understand that there is no place for expulsion in AM. What more is needed than this. However groupists have their own type of outlook that is shaded by their own narrow agenda. That is why they hedge and haw on this issue of expulsion. Sometimes they are shamelessly basking in the heinous power of expulsion and other times they are bitterly crying when that same lethal weapon of expulsion is used against them.
Since 1990 and still today, various groups have been in power and all have taken recourse to fire the weapon of expulsion at their chosen enemies, if not innocent margiis. This is the way it works when those in power are churning their exploitative machinery. They attack anyone in whatever way they like. B, H, and EC have all done like this. Who can forget that it was the B group bandits led by Sarvatmananda who first brought forth the expulsion term in AMPS. Before that it was never used because Baba shuns the crooked theory of expulsion. But starting in 1990 Sarvatmananda and his B group empire took to expulsion right away: It was one of their most favourite pieces of artillery. Because those days B group was viciously ruling AM by grabbing more and more power, victimising margiis, slashing BP rights, distorting Baba's original discourses. All these heinous things they were doing. And when somebody spoke out about their wrongdoings, these B group leaders would fire their canon of expulsion. This was their chosen method. So history itself bears witness to the fact that it is Sarvatmananda and his B group commandos who are the cruel inventors of expulsion in our Marga. Of course thereafter when other groups like the H team came in power they also drooled over the firepower of expulsion. Because they saw first-hand what a gruesome effect it has and how it scares people out of their skin. So expulsion is a great weapon of exploitative leaders. That is why when Rudrananda climbed to the top of the hill then he too has mercilessly wielded this expulsion tool. And he does not just do it in ones and twos, but rather by the bucket full. This is his outrageous strategy. And side by side the EC cronies like Citananda and Citkrsnananda were lovers of expulsion when they were working under the giants like Sarvatmananda and Rudrananda. In that moment, they are thought it was great and were giddy with excitement watching it happen. In that period, none of the current EC'ers were speaking out against expulsion; rather they were smiling. Thus the common theme pervades throughout that those groupist exploitative leaders cherish the weapon of expulsion when they are in power and running the show. This we have all seen.
And it is also part and parcel of the formula that all of the above groupist bandits cry out when the expulsion formula is turned against them. When they are on the receiving end of expulsion then they do not like it at all. Then they immediately cry out about how they should not have been expelled. Indeed all day long they lament about the foul play involved. This is the case with B group personnel, EC players, and all the groups. None like it when they are pricked by the devious ways of expulsion. Then all of a sudden they become quite "righteous" in their expression. And they cry out and accuse that, 'How could anyone allow this injustice to happen'. This is their plea. But what they fail to proclaim is that the tool of expulsion is itself unjust; this they never say. Only they lament that it is unfair that they were expelled. So they show no remorse or repentance for how they expelled innumerable innocent people in the past, nor do they tell that expulsion itself is unideological. Only they cry out that it is not fair that they got expelled. This is their shady dealing.
All in all, the way the various groupists like B and EC complain about expulsion is quite similar to another phenomenon playing out in the mundane society. Nowadays around the globe, there are various fake people lamenting about the state of the environment and how the animals have no place to live. Such persons speak out how there should be a balance in nature etc. This much they tell. But what they fail to say is that the only reason they want those animals "protected" is so that they themselves can go out during the season and hunt and kill those very animals. This is their heinous sport of choice and that is why they hypocritically tell that they do not want the animals removed from their habitat. The only reasons being that they themselves want the crude thrill of mercilessly hunting and slaughtering those animals. Likewise, in their own way the groupist exploiters in AMPS today are no different. Guided by their selfish interest, they lament about things being out of balance, but they do not voice that expulsion itself is wrong. Because they long for the day when they can climb back into power and use their favoured weapon of expulsion in an act of revenge. So just as those hunters are not really concerned about animal rights, rather their only desire is to hunt and kill those animals whenever they desire. Similarly the groupist teams like B and EC are not deeply concerned about true justice in AMPS. They will not state that expulsion is not allowed. Only out of their self-interest they cry out for some support so they can rise up and expel whomever they wish. And of course nowadays the ruling H group subfaction is keeping mum on expulsion, just they keep their finger on the trigger-- ready to fire any time.
That is why so many margiis are telling that on this point of expulsion and all other such issues, the various groupist wt heads are motivated by selfishness-- they are just governed by the narrow ideals of atma-sukha tattva, nothing more. Baba says, "Whatever human beings do motivated by atma-sukha tattva is for the sake of pleasure. This principle of selfish pleasure rests on dogma...Human beings yield to this dogma with the sole intention of attaining selfish pleasures; even educated people knowingly submit to dogma. They know that they are surrendering their intellect to dogma, and that the outcome will be undesirable; they know and understand everything-- why, even then, do they knowingly submit to it? They are all deliberate sinners and intentionally accept dogmas as truth. They observe that these dogmas are based on atma-sukha tattva; but they think, 'I don't care whether it does good or harm to others, because at least I have got some pleasure out of it!' Being motivated by this idea, they enslave themselves to dogmas." (NH-LOI: Disc 6) In Baba's above teaching He clearly tells that people indulge in various dogmas like expulsion because it gives them some type of crude selfish pleasure. In their heart of hearts they may know it is wrong, but that gets all get overrun by their pleasure instinct-- their selfish lust for power etc. Likewise on this issue of expulsion, the various factional heads are just sunk and submerged in the lowly state of atma sukha tattva-- nothing higher than that. That is why H, B and EC all are in favour of expulsion. That is their stand on the issue. Only they become upset when it is used against them. But when they get to use it then there is not a tear on their face-- just a smile. Then the world is rosy as can be. This is their standard of mind: Just guided by the principle of selfish pleasure.
That is why when B group or EC or whichever type of groupist takes to the streets and grabs a megaphone and preaches about how they were unjustly expelled, then no one should get duped by their selfish message. Those groupist pleas have nothing to do with human welfare and dharma. Their concern is purely selfish. So none should think B or EC etc are great fighters of justice. It is not like that. Rather such groupists fall right into the ranks of religious traders. And Baba warns us that we should be wary of such persons. Baba says, "Such people end up pretending to be moralists externally but internally become immoralists. This is the height of hypocrisy in the society... Those who put on a show of being moralists from the rostrum or pulpit... are actually misguided fools, however intelligent they may think themselves to be. Inflated with the vanity of pedantry they lose all their common sense and behave like lunatics. And the worst thing about them is that to fulfill their petty narrow interests they hoodwink the innocent, simple, unwary, gullible masses. Internally they wish to become ministers to serve their selfish interests, outwardly they say they want to serve the society in the interest of the common people. Their one intention is to fill their pockets with money, [post, and power etc] but they publicly pronounce that they want to follow the gospels of dharma. Oh human beings, beware of these impostors. Try to apply your power of discrimination to know who are your friends and who are your foes. You should never allow yourselves to fall victim to these political and religious traders." (AMIWL-6) Thus when various groupists openly lament about how they were unjustly expelled, then on the outside it may look like they are true Wts who are lovers and justice and against the heinous ways of expulsion. But it is not at all like that. That is Baba's warning. Just such groupist persons come in the category of duplicitous & selfish religious traders. If it not like that, then why can't the groupists of today realise that expulsion is not allowed in AM and that expulsion is against the tenets of one human society. This they do not say-- for reasons best known to them. According to Baba though, such groupists and such fakes of dharma are nothing but lowly religious traders.
Here Baba guides us that our minds should rise above the dirt of selfishness and move into the realm of social equality and welfare. Baba says, "We must totally reject all those hypocritical ideas which are contrary to this sama-samaja tattva (principle of social equality), and we must welcome all those ideas which will help human beings to be established in it. All opposing theories must be removed mercilessly, just like thorns from our path." (NH-LOI, '87 Edn, p.38) So Baba's teaching is for the roots of groupism to be pulled out immediately and for all to adopt the ways of social welfare. And indeed the vast majority of margiis and field workers are seamlessly moving in this flow of sama-samaj tattva. Margiis and most common wts are advancing on the path of proto-psycho spirituality and beyond. Whereas the groupist leaders are far, far below, stuck in their own selfishness-- bound up in the crude and degenerative ways of atma-sukha tattva. That is why they are unwilling and unable to state that expulsion itself is unjust and not allowed in our Marga. This they will not say. That is why the standard of margiis and regular wts is much higher. Because in one voice all are saying that, 'Under no condition is expulsion to take place in our Marga-- Expulsion is forbidden in AM'. This is the rally of all rational people guided by the ways of sama-samaj tattva.
By Baba's grace our Marga, nay the entire human society, will move in unison as one singular human family. That era is on the rise. Baba says, "You will have to carry the collectivity with you, because the collectivity is yours. The collectivity is not outside you-- your future is inseparably linked with the collective fortune. You must take the entire collectivity with you and move towards the sweetest radiance of the new crimson dawn, beyond the veil of the darkest night." (NH-LOI, '82 Edn, p.90) Namaskar, Satiish
From 1955 to 1990 there were no expulsions done in AMPS. In that 35 year period with Guru at the organisational helm, no one was expelled-- zero. And those days there were thousands of wts who came into the organisation. But now in the comparatively short span of time from 1991-2009, so many people have been expelled. And day by day the number increases until soon it will reach the century mark-- 100. So see the difference between then and now, between dharma and groupism.
Here below Baba points out how the exploiters one day suffer at the fate of the same injustices which they meted out to others. Baba says, "The wicked persons at the helm of affairs, who are now out to liquidate others, will one day themselves be liquidated and erased from history by their own followers. Sinful persons, by following the crooked path, contaminate the atmosphere of the universe, but ultimately that sinful conduct, in a similar crooked way, will recoil like a boomerang on the sinners themselves." (NSS: Disc 10) So just as the fathers of expulsion-- i.e. B group-- threw out so many people from our Marga, now they are undergoing that same trick which they did to others. That is how adharmic people always get struck by their own weapon. This is how boomerangs work. Thus the power hungry Rudrananda should also take note-- he should see what is staring him in the face.
Here are some statements from the B group factional party about expulsion when it happened to them. Suddenly they no longer like expulsion. "They [EC] never condemned gross injustice done to us [B group]- like expulsion of 46 WTs etc. There are many such issues where EC is either silent or has hesitation...But in my opinion, we should now concentrate more on condemning this new wave of expulsions of senior workers." - (Dada K, B group PRS) So see the hypocrisy. The expelled B group spokesman wants his own wave of expulsions to be reviewed by one and all, but all the expulsions which B group committed when Sarvatmananda was at the helm are part of history and need not be reviewed. Those we need not concentrate on. Just he is concerned about the "gross injustice done to us [B group]". This is how he and all the B group and EC cronies are guided by atma sukha tattva. Now here is another statement from a B group loyalist. "The mass expulsion [of B group workers] took place in 2003. So just three years ago. Many of those whose name were in the list of that illegal mass expulsion had anything to do with the formation of NGB...Their only mistake was that they were Bengalis and did not want to submit to the whims of Ranchi caucus. And I think it will be shocking to you to know that, they were not served with any explanation sheets or charge sheets. No procedures were followed." (B group loyalist) What the above B group advocate fails to remember is that when B groups was in power they ruthlessly expelled so many people and they only sneered that on such occasions. Never was a charge-sheet given. Just they went on with their unholy and sinister ways of expulsion.
So from top to bottom all the groups-- B, H, EC etc-- are infested with the crude desire to rule and expel others. But about themselves, they never want to be expelled. Thus their cries have nothing to do with dharma. Just they want to be able to have their cake and eat it too.
By Baba's divine grace, it is sure that soon the era of spirituality is coming where all will love as one united human family. Baba says, "Spiritual philosophy does not recognize any distinctions and differentiations unnaturally made between one human being and another, and stands for universal fraternity." (APH-2, p.128)
****************************************** LONGEVITY
Baba says, "Spiritual practice makes the mind calm and quiet, and maintains the nerves in a state of equipoise; and thus spiritual practice increases longevity. Those Vaishnavites who are vegetarians, who regularly sing spiritual songs, do meditation, perform virtuous deeds and think pure thoughts, live longer than ninety years." (AVM-33, p.113) Note: By following the devotional cult of AM and abiding by general health rules every sadhaka is ensured a long and healthy life. That is Baba's guarantee.

So-Called Jamalpur DMS News

Date: Sun, 22 Mar 2009 17:54:13 +0530 To: AM-GLOBAL From: Subject: So-Called Jamalpur DMS News Baba
Namaskar, Here is news from the So-Called Jamalpur DMS held 21 / 22 March, 2009.
Just this weekend, the Ranchi camp, led by Rudra'nanda and Nigama'nanda, organised and held a DMS on 21-22 March 09. It was named Jamalpur DMS but really the DMS is held in Munger (Monghyr). That is why many now call it the so-called Jamalpur DMS. The hidden tactic behind Ranchi group calling it Jamalpur DMS is that this is psychological way of cheating and luring the margiis. By promoting Jamalpur as a tiirtha site and supposedly holding DMS there, the Ranchi team is infusing geo-religious sentiment in hopes of attracting more people to attend this groupist function. When in fact the gathering is held in Monghyr. So calling it Jamalpur DMS is just a ploy, nothing more.
All in all, the crowd was quite small, a mere 950 people attended the DMS, according to most estimations. Why was the attendance so small? Margiis are not interested in attending groupist functions and side by side margiis understand that it is totally dogma to think that Jamalpur is some type of religious tiirtha site. No margiis believes this dogma. For these reasons and more, many were not inspired to attend.
All know that Vishvadeva'nandaji is the selected PP of Ranchi faction. But since the Court of India has banned him to function as PP, Vishvadeva'nandaji was not announced as PP... ...Instead he was introduced as Senior Purodha'. But during the DMS gathering, he gave speeches as if he were the PP.
Unfortunately, Vishvadeva'nandaji fell into the dogmatic trap of behaving like the old PP. See the behaviour of Vishvadeva'nandaji: (1) He did not raise "Parampiita' Ba'ba' kii jai "slogan. (2) He also didn't do collective Kiirtan, (3) Nor did he do dharmacakra, (4) Not collective Pa'ncajanya, (5) He did not sing Prabhat Samgiita, (6) Not collective Guru Puja etc All these things he did not do as he pretended as if he was above all that. Seeing this very negative display by Vishvadeva'nandaji, workers and margiis were disapointed and angry.
So many police agents were called to the DMS site by Ranchi camp. Ranchi Dadas paid huge fees and bribes to bring the police to act in their favour, i.e in favour of H group. Ranchi called these policemen to act as security b/c of the EC group threat. EC group dadas & didis didn't try to enter pandal but they were present in Jamalpur. However, due to groupist tensions, a few fights did occur.
Didi Ananda Giita now has her own NGO and she was also present in Jamalpur to recruit for her new cause. So none should think that what this Didi is doing is proper. She created yet another breakaway faction by forming her own separate organisation and now she is doing politicking to get more members. This however is a very dangerous approach. In the name of a group fight, Didi has made another group and further balkanised our Marga. Soon, by this way, each and every village will be their own Ananda Marga organisation. This is the very negative trend that Didi is setting: When there is a problem then break away and make your own parallel structure. By this way, soon there will be thousands of different AM organisations. In Christianity there are perhaps 250 sects, but our AM will be worse. It will be like the dogmatic pattern set in Hinduism where each and every temple is its own separate entity. Same will be the case in AM. Every jagrti or MU will be their own separate enterprise, i.e. their own breakaway faction. That is the very negative trend created by Didi Ananda Giita and others like her who form their own separate structure and have their own by-laws etc. Gluing the Marga back together again will not be easy - nay impossible - when there are so many factions. All in all, those who do like this are a slur on Ananda Marga. They are outright hypocrites. Every day such acaryas take an oath to save Ananda Marga, yet in that very same day they are splitting and balkanising the Marga. Their negative actions are paramount to taking Ram's name and then eating eggs. Just plain hypocrisy nothing more. Throughout the DMS at Monghyr, Didi Ananda Giita and her cohorts were busy running around trying to convince simple margiis and naive people to join her new group. But again, what she is doing is a slur in the name of Ananda Marga.
Many margiis active in EC group went and tried to enter the pandal but Ranchi's muscle man Ra'jesha'nanda stopped them. Then a fight started yesterday on 21st March in the afternoon. For one hour it was absolute chaos. It was so bad that the police had to interfere to control this fight. It is quite obvious that when each of the groups is doing their own selfish propaganda in hopes of increasing their numbers, then that will lead to more and more fights in the Marga. Tempers will run high and there will be more fights between margiis. That is the very terrible outcome of all this groupism and the pithy competition to make one group bigger than another.
There were not any new cassettes or books available this so-called Jamalpur DMS. Many margiis were disappointed and they were using abusive language about those big Dadas. But we all know the real reason why they stopped selling AM books. Those books preach the gospel of Baba's teachings such as neo-humanism, bhagavata dharma, and as we know in His discourses, Baba is always condemning groupism and dogmatic tiirthas etc. So the Ranchi side does not want to sell these books as they do not want new people to read Baba's words, because then those new margiis will understand that what the Ranchi team is doing is bad. With this fear in mind, Ranchi leaders made sure there were no Baba books for sale. Instead, a few individual Dadas were walking around secretly and selling AM books in private, by themselves.
That is the basic report of this recent DMS of Jamalpur. It is quite evident that groupism is gripping our Marga and eating away at the very fabric of our society. As more and more understand ideology, we will implement Baba's teachings, by His grace. Baba says, "So it is natural for human beings to live together and to make a Great Universe. By not doing so, by mutual fight, all will be destroyed. This is the law of the universe (Prakrti). Thus you will have to remain united; you must create the Great Universe as soon as possible. There will be peace and happiness in the universe, and with one indivisible ideology, humanity will march ahead. Victory be with you!" (Disc MHB) Namaskar, Shivadayal

What is Most Beautiful

From: "Karma Rasa" To: AM-GLOBAL Subject: What is Most Beautiful Date: Sat, 21 Mar 2009 23:01:22 +0000 Baba "A'ma'r katha' d'her hoyeche, toma'r katha'i shudhu bolo..." (PS 1803) Purport: Baba, You are the most fascinating and dearest Entity of this entire universe. Yet up till now, in my ignorance, I have just been focusing upon my own self. I was just infatuated with my own unit ego-- with my own 'I-feeling'. My whole existence has only been revolving around me. The time just passed in my own self-centered talk and gossip; my life passed in vain. Baba, now please be gracious and reveal something about Your divine Self. Baba, You are that Supreme One; with Your infinite compassion today You have blessed me with the desire to realise You. Please grace me by telling me Your intimate tales and make my life meaningful. Baba, after bathing me in the flow of effulgence-- after showering me with Your divine truth-- and blessing me with spiritual knowledge, please take me only on Your path, the path of divinity, the path of eternal fulfillment. Baba, You are the most gracious One. Baba, previously I was just involved in myself-- singing my own songs, thinking about my own greatness and glory. I was just involved in my own self-aggrandisement, again and again. My whole life got wasted in this way. I was only busy in satisfying my own ego. Baba, by Your grace, today I have floated the boat of Your name. By Your grace You have entered my life. Without Your grace it was impossible. Baba, please set the sail of Your divine melody so that by Your grace I can reach up to the Goal-- up to You. O' Sundar, O' Beautiful One, You are that singular eternal Entity. By Your grace I now know everything else is transitory. Baba, You alone are eternally emanating: This whole entire universe is Your divine expression. Baba, whenever the tide comes You release the boat. This is Your eternal way: When a unit being gets human life then You grace them by giving them sadhana make their path straight towards divinity. Baba, I surrender at Your lotus feet...
Namaskar, In the above Prabhat Samgiita, Parama Purusa is addressed as 'Sundar'-- The Most Beautiful One. So infinite beauty is one of the inherent qualities as well as one of the countless attributions of Parama Purusa-- of Baba. And by His grace devotees realise this in their lives. At the same time, often we see that people chase after "beauty" in the mundane world. So we should investigate what that worldly beauty really is, why one feels attracted to a particular thing, as well as how far those objects are really able to quench and satisfy one's inner desire.
As we have all remarked, in this day to day world, people find beauty in so many things. A mother finds beauty in her children; a man finds beauty in a woman; climbers find beauty in the mountain; a shopper finds beauty in a hat or a dress; and on and on it goes. So many people find beauty in so many things. Baba says, "Human beings look at the world, with its profusion of changing forms, and become fascinated by them." (NKS, Disc: 25, 'Aesthetic Science')
However it is also certainly true that what is beautiful to one person may not be perceived as being beautiful to the next. For example: One good-looking young man might chase after at one ugly girl. The whole society views her as ugly. She has as hooked nose, gross body, rotten teeth, bad smell, hairy fingers, and she is very short-tempered and mean etc. Everyone thinks she is ugly. The young man's friends make all kinds of comments about her ugliness and mean disposition. Yet this handsome young man finds her to be the most beautiful and stunning woman in this entire world. That fellow will become captivated and will be able to talk all day long about her exquisite beauty and charm. Because to him, she is very, very attractive etc. So that is the unending specialty-- and indeed controversy-- of worldly beauty: It varies from person to person. Some are totally enamoured with certain things and find them to be completely beautiful; whereas, others may find those very same objects to be totally quite ordinary, or distasteful, or even repulsive. This is the way of the world. Thus what is beautiful-- and what is ugly-- varies dramatically from one person to the next. Certainly we have all witnessed this in our lives. One person finds a particular painting worthy of being placed in the most honoured art museum and another person wishes to hurl that same painting into the trash bin. And like that, with each and every worldly expression, the degree of its beauty or lack thereof, depends solely on the perceiver.
Here in more specific language, Baba pointedly reveals to us the science behind how and why people find beauty in a particular object. Baba says, "Suppose I see something. The vibration radiating from that object produces a sympathetic vibration in the mind. I begin to feel that I should assimilate that vibration, that I should accept it as my own. This is what is known as attraction." (NKS, Disc: 25, 'Aesthetic Science') So each and every expressed object in the vast universe emanates its own specific vibration. Every jewel, every stone, every cloud, every river, and every cockroach has a particular vibration. And accordingly one feels attracted toward that object, or not. And for those who do get attracted by a particular object, to the degree that that object satisfies, satiates, and fulfills their heart is the degree to which they will call that thing beautiful. The mother is highly attracted to each and every aspect of her baby-- the smile, hair, eyes, fingers, and laugh. Thus for her, that baby is extremely beautiful: she finds near unending beauty in that baby. So to some or more degree people are attracted to so many objects in this world: natural scenes like mountain springs and picturesque sunsets, music, houses, automobiles etc. To them those things are beautiful. It all depends on how far that object gives them a feeling of satiation in their heart. Thus the vibration of the wavelengths from a particular object has a strong capacity to attract someone-- or repel them. Because not every vibration may be soothing to every person. Indeed a visiting neighbor may look at that same mother's baby whom the mother finds irresistibly charming, but internally the neighbor may think that this is the ugliest infant ever to be born in the history of the world. They may think it resembles a monkey or a chimpanzee-- but not a human. So not everything creates a sympathetic vibration in everyone's mind. It depends on the object as well as one's in born samskara and mental structure.
But one thing is sure, when anyone does find something beautiful in this world then they want to remain in its contact. Baba says, "Suppose you see something and take a fancy to it. 'Ah, how fine it is!' you will exclaim in joy. Suppose you listen to a nice piece of music and deeply enjoy it. Your friend may be sitting nearby, but you will surely say, 'Wait a bit, please. Let me listen to the music a little longer'." (NKS: Disc 27) As Baba explains above, people want to remain near any object they find to be beautiful-- because it gives them a sense of satiation and fulfillment. And not only do they want to remain close, invariably people try to get more and more intimate with whatever they feel to beautiful. Because by getting closer and closer they want to increase the amount of inner satiation which they derive from that object. And since human longing is infinite, human beings wish to derive maximum fulfillment from worldly things up to eternity. This is their dream. Whether it be a woman, a sports car, a house by the lake, or whatever, the beholder wants to attain infinite happiness from that object which they perceive to be beautiful. So initially when people find something to be beautiful in this mundane world then they rush up towards that thing and desire to remain its contact-- and get closer and closer to that-- thinking that it will give them unending fulfillment. But actually in this mundane world, no object has that capacity to continue to attract someone and fulfill their desire up to eternity. No mundane expression has that charm; no mundane expression has that beauty.
So from a distance, initially people may think that something is very, very beautiful. But as they get closer or over time, they ultimately find that they no longer get that deep satiation from that object which they were initially feeling. Driving that same sports car every Sunday little by little begins to lose its appeal, until finally one day the owner is no longer attracted to that car at all and he sells it. Likewise, one day the woman of one's dreams no longer seems so attractive to them. And when this occurs, whey they no longer find her to be beautiful, then one goes to the court with divorce papers in hand. Every day such things happen. Likewise, women often lose their attraction for the man that they were once in love with. This is the way this universe unfolds: People lose their attraction for various mundane objects. To them it no longer appears to be beautiful because it fails to give that deep satiation in their heart. And in that moment, when an object loses its appeal, then one begins to feel-- to some or more degree-- that that object is ugly. With that change of feeling, with that loss of attraction, Hollywood marriages end in a flash, people sell their sports car, or people move from one house to another. This is the common reality. Because when people lose their attraction for a particular thing then they search elsewhere to find that beauty which will lighten their heart. But no worldly expression has that capacity to exude unending beauty for time immemorial. Ultimately, at some point-- sooner or later-- that object will fail to satiate their heart. And in that moment a sort of ugliness appears that wasn't there previously. It happens with everything of this mundane world.
Everyone wants infinite beauty and until they come in contact with Parama Purusa then they go on running after tranisent objects and then one day by His grace one comes in His contact and the spiritual journey begins. And this is what should be sought after in life-- His Supreme Beauty. As long as this stage does not come they go on running after one thing of beauty yet then again that beautiful things becomes ugly to them and then they chase after another beauty. This type of never-ending search and feeling of frustration happens until starts his march towards Parama Purusa. Becuase in the relative sphere, which is most beautiful today becomes ugly tomorrow and this journey goes on and on until one comes in contact with Baba the Most Beautiful One.
So while people tire of mundane objects, the opposite is the case with Parama Purusa. At first from a distance one may not feel that He is so beautiful. Due to the pull of avidya maya, one may actually get attracted elsewhere. So until one is graced to find beauty in Parama Purusa, then in their desperate state they will frantically run from one mundane 'beautiful thing' to the next. Because everyone is moving around trying to find that most beautiful expression that can fulfill the yearning in their heart. But by Baba's divine grace and with their good samskara, sadhakas feel some initial attraction for Parama Purusa. His vibration satisfies a yearning in their heart and they find Him to be beautiful. This is His grace. Naturally then, by feeling His sweet vibration, the sadhaka desires to go more close. And because Parama Purusa is that infinite One, He can continually emanate and exude a sweeter and sweeter vibration that satisfies and satiates the infinite longing of the human heart. In that way His beauty increases more and more. So the closer one gets to Him the more satiation they feel, and the more beautiful He becomes. And ultimately, attracted by that ever increasing beauty, one moves closer and closer towards Parama Purusa-- until finally one day one merges in Him. That is why only Parama Purusa is Sundar-- only He is the most Beautiful One. Only He can give that complete satiation to the infinite longing of the human heart. By getting Him one feels so much fulfillment, that is why only Baba is Sundar. And ultimately, by His grace, we reach that permanent state of fulfillment-- drifting endlessly in His bliss. As sadhakas, our duty is to run after this real beauty-- His eternally beautiful Self, and not any illusory or transient thing which for a fleeting moment in time appears to be beautiful.
Yashoda'-Nanda nandanam' surendrapa'davandanam; Suvarn'aratnaman'd'alam' nama'mi Krs'n'asundaram. Bhava'bdhikarn'adha'rakam' bhaya'rttina'shaka'rakam; Mumuks'umuktida'yakam nama'mi Krs'n'asundaram.
"Salutations to Parama Purusa the Beautiful...whose lotus feet were worshipped by the gods, and whose body was adorned with precious gems. Salutations to Parama Purusa the Beautiful, who was the most reliable helmsman on the ocean of this universe, who removed the fear of annihilation, who granted salvation to aspiring souls." (NKS: Disc 4) Indeed, in this vast universe, only Parama Purusa is that most Beautiful Entity. By His grace may we all fully realise this divine truth. Baba says, "The Supreme Reality is vibrant with blissful vibrations; He is the greatest of all entities, the highest, above all, beyond all comparison... His existence, His stance, His ever-blissful state, is the highest stage of attainment." (NSS) Namaskar, Karma Rasa
******************************************** Solution of Misery
Baba says, "Human misery originates from one's imperfect thoughts. By ideating on the Great one can be relieved of misery forever." (AMIWL-7) Note 1: Baba's above guideline is very unique. He is explaining to us that pain is the result of improper thinking. The insinuation being: Pain is related with the mind only. Thus when the mind is filled with higher thoughts-- ideating on the Great-- then it goes beyond pain and pleasure. And that is the state of eternal bliss. We can see in our day to day life how this type of problem can be very painful to one person and to quite fine to another.. It depends completely on one's psychic perceptions and mental state of mind. We also see that just by thinking in a negative way people invite serious psychic tension and mental depression in their life. Whereas if their thinking is proper then that brings bliss-- but if it is improper then that causes sorrow. This is why in so-called developed nations the problem of depression and psychic diseases is more than in comparison to other places. As we all know, proper thinking means ideating on Parama Purusa. Sadhakas know this theorem but under the spell of Avidya Maya they forget this most of the time.
