Mahaprayan of Ac Cidananda Avt

Date: Sat 19 Apr 2008 10:52:56 -0000 (GMT) From: Singh_Manindra Subject: Mahaprayan of Ac Cidananda Avt To: AM-GLOBAL Baba
== MAHAPRAYAN* OF AC CIDANANDA AVT ==
Namaskar, As the news reaches around the globe, I would also like to write and extend my deepest feelings regarding the very recent mahaprayan* of Acarya Cidananda Avadhuta. Dada Cidanandji was a tremendous asset to our Marga, so his mahaprayan (death) is a terrible loss for us all. In recent months, Dadaji had been staying in A'nanda Ma'rga Polytechnic college at Taluk-Malur, Dist- Kolar near Bengalore. When his condition deteriorated then he was admitted in Manipal hospital Bengalore. Finally his mahaprayan happened at 4.55 am IST, today, Saturday 19th of April. At the same time, we can take solace in the fact that Dadaji had been suffering from cancer & chemotherapy treatment for years and at least now, with his mahaprayan, he can take shelter at Baba's lotus feet. Let us also take a moment to remember the many wonderful and great contributions Dada Cidanandaji made while on this earth. He was a dedicated worker for Baba's mission for more than 40 years and for a long time he was Shraman (trainer) in Davao training centre, Philippines. Dadajii had many sweet experiences with Ta'raka Brahma Ba'ba'. Ba'ba' lovingly graced him with Gurudarshan. More recently, Ac Cidananda was working hard to restore prama to our AMPS. And who cannot say that throughout Dadaji's entire life, he was a benevolent soul who cared and worked for the welfare of others. Many recall his warm personality, friendship, and brotherhood. So it with sadness that we bid adieu to our dear brother, yet also we can all take solace in the fact that he has reached his final destination unto Baba's lap. On this earth we could not save him, so now Baba has taken it upon Himself to save Dadaji and grant him salvation. With deepest respects, Yours brotherly, Manindra * Mahaprayan (Death): Many are aware that mahaprayan (death) is the common term used in India and especially in Bengal to describe the death of even an ordinary person. In that way, in the obituary pages the newspapers of Bengal are regularly citing the mahaprayan (death) of various persons of society who died or passed away. Some may get confused and wrongly think that the word 'mahaprayan' (death) is one extraordinarily devotional term to be used in association with Parama Purusa, Mahasambhuti, Taraka Brahma, or God. But that is not at all the case. Rather to do so is only to undermine the eternal presence of Parama Purusa. That is why no true devotee ever uses the word 'mahaprayan' in reference to Lord Shiva, Lord Krsna, or Lord Shrii Shrii Anandamurtiji. Because Lord Shiva, Lord Krsna, Lord Shrii Shrii Anandamurtiji exist eternally. Then there is no question of Their mahaprayan (death). But unfortunately, the whole 'mahaprayan' dogma was introduced by Sarvatmanandji in 1990 either to undermine Shrii Shrii Anandamurtiji or to give Him respect-- the reason is best known to Dadaji. Regardless, the very existence of the mahaprayan dogma is quite unfortunate and a black mark on our Marga. For those who need still more technical proof then all this can be clarified quite readily by referencing the dictionary. Specifically in the Samsad Bengali-English dictionary on page 742. Checking there it will be confirmed that the word 'mahaprayan' means death of ordinary people. Which is why it used to refer to the passing away of even common citizens.
