Baba
Namaskar,
Just a reminder to be sure to subscribe to our two new blogsites:
Baba, I do not have any strength of my own-- just by Your grace I ammoving ahead on Your path; but it is very difficult because of all thestains, dirt, and blemishes on my mind. O' my Lord, please bless me byremoving all the impurities and stains from my mind; today make me pure.Baba, please give me more capacity to do Your work and to do Your dhyana.
O' my Lord please be gracious.
Baba, You are the Doer of everything. You have created me and brought meon this earth and by Your grace I am moving on Your path. O' Baba, I havenothing to boast about; I have no quality of my own. Just I am the dust ofYour feet. I am Yours. Baba, whatever You wish is the way in which my lifeproceeds. Please grace me by using me for Your work; make me Your machine.Baba, please utilize me in all types of work-- small or big, whichever Youwish.Baba, by Your grace, I have come on this earth to do work for You. Ihave come to obey Your command and follow Your order, and do whatever Youwish. Baba, I want to materialize, implement, & manifest Your every planand program. I want to bring all Your thoughts and ideas into form. O' myLord, all these things I want to do. Baba, please be gracious on me. On myown I do not have the strength or power to execute Your tasks. O' my Lord, please shower Your varabhaya mudra [1]-- Your divine blessing-- so I canspread your ideas and teachings throughout each and every nook & corner ofthis universe and make You pleased. O' my Lord...
NOTES ABOUT PS 1457:[1] Varabhaya Mudra: (vara= blessing; a= no; bhaya= fear. Both palms areopen. The left hand rests on the left thigh, i.e. vara mudra', the righthand is raised, i.e. abhaya mudra'.) This is Baba's great blessing offearlessness that is bound in His eternal love and endless compassion. Soby Baba's varabhaya mudra He is removing any & all fear by showering Hisdivine love. This is His special blessing upon each and every sadhaka--upon the entire humanity.Baba says, "Utilizing the vibrations created for eternal time by ShriiShrii Anandamurtiji through januspharsha and varabhaya mudras, takeyourself and the entire universe ahead along the path of welfare. OmnShanti!" (CC-1, 'Concluding Words')Baba says, "Suppose the Sadguru is saying something, and the deaf or dumbman wants to hear it but cannot. If one concentrates the mind on vara'bhayamudra', there will be the direct effect of positive microvita on theauricular or other nerve cells and also on the controlling cells, and itmay be that all of a sudden he may get back the power of hearing. Oneshould look towards these two mudras [vara & abhaya] and not to anythingelse." (MVNS)
== BABA STORY: BABA BLESSES ALL ==
Namaskar,
Baba has always given importance to sadhana. And as we know in human life
there are three spheres: physical, psychic, and the top-most level which is
spiritual. Because the spiritual controls the mental sphere directly and
the physical sphere indirectly. And the psychic sphere controls the physical arena.
So although all are important still the most important is the spiritual realm. And that is
the exact training we have directly received from our Guru.
As we drift in the bliss of Baba's blessednesswe should remember this
divine truth. In this regard, about the importance of spirituality one story is flashing
in my mind.
BABA STORY
When Baba was living in jail, during certain periods and on various
occasions He was not surrounded by so many margiis, rather only non-margiis
were there. And amongst them, He used to guide some of them on various
spiritual points.
That time His jail doctor was Dr. Kalwarji. Now Dr. Kalwar is not the
nasty jail doctor who later poisoned Baba. Rather Dr. Kalwarji was a
simple and innocent man who had deep reverence for Baba. And his mother
tongue was Maethillii and he was a non-margii. So when Kalwarji would get
time then he would go to meet Baba and Baba would invite him to enter into
his cell. And Baba would tell him tales and stories of different monks etc.
And the unique thing is that in the presence of Dr. Kalwarji, Baba would
sing some of the devotional songs written by Vidyapati, who of course was
one great devotee of Lord Shiva and also an accomplished poet. And as you
may be aware Baba has cited Vidyapati on numerous occasions in His
Subhasita Samgraha series of discourses. But here the point is that Baba
with full heart would sing Vidyapati's devotional songs in order to show
how Vidyapati used to long for the Lord. So Baba would demonstrate this in
the presence of Dr. Kalwarji.
And in so doing most of the time he would sing this following song:
Vrtha' janma goina'yaluin
hena Prabhu na' bhojaluin
Khoya'yalu soha gun'anidhi,
Hama'r karama manda
na milala eka bunda
Premasindhu rasaka abadhi.
Meaning:
Fruitless, O Lord, hath been my life
That sang not, Oh, of glories Thine;
Lost in the worldly rueful strife
And Lost Thee, alas, Ye Treasure-Mine.
Fate's long portentous hand
With compassion, cold and daft,
Strayed me out of Thy Love's strand,
Deprived, alas of a single draught. (SS-3, p.63)
I wasted my entire life and did not meditate on my Prabhu
Running towards worldly things I lost You.
I was indulged in lowly and uselesspursuits.
Alas, I could not get the beat of Your Grace,
Oh my most Beloved Parama Purusa.
And then years later Baba included some of these lines in Prabhat Samgiita
#340 also: 'Vrtha' janma gama'yalun, heno prabhu na'..."
So in the presence of Dr. Kalwarji, Baba would sing this above song. And
Dr. Kalwar had a devotional heart and later he would recount that "I was
so fortunate to hear Baba sing; the melody and sound was just like the
pouring of nectar. It was so charming and attractive and it had such a
divine vibration."
Then with tears rolling down his cheeks, Kalwarji told that 'Even for
someone who has a dry heart like me, this was very beautiful and I never
felt such a quivering feeling in my heart.'
So on a regular basis he would listen to Baba sing for 20 minutes or
half-an-hour. All the while Dr. Kalwarji would sit quiet and listen. Then
after that he would request to take leave of Baba and Baba would lovingly
bless him and permit him to attend to his other duties. And like that this
was happening a few times each week in the evening hours.
Then on one occasion Dr. Kalwar could not reach at the proper time. He
arrived a little late and he noticed that the door of Baba's cell was
closed. Then after considering the situation for a moment, Kalwar thought
that, 'Let me see what Baba is doing.'
With strong curiosity and with one finger he tried to remove the curtain
in front of Baba's cell door and saw a huge flood of light emanating from Baba's existence.
It was brilliant.
He could not keep his eyes open. And in that strong burst of light, and
by feeling overwhelmed by the whole atmosphere, he could not remain standing, so he
sat down. His whole body was shaking--in blissful state he could not understand
what was happening. And that effulgent light began shining inside his mind as well. Then
after 20 minutes or so, he regained his conscious state-- still divinely intoxicated
by the experience. Then he did mental pranam and went away.
Then Kalwarji told me, 'That day I saw Baba doing sadhana then He showered
His great blessing on me and the feeling I had that day continued on and on
for six months.Whenever I used to think about Baba then my whole body
used to begin to quiver and goosebumps would come and a deeply soothing
feeling would permeate deep into my heart and flood my entire existence.
And that light I could never forget. It was ablissful feeling which I
had never felt earlier in my heart. And still today these strong divine feelings come when I think of Baba's sweetness.'
So this is one story how Baba blesses non-margiis also.
Namaskar,
Ram Sahay
Note: Baba does not just appreciate Vidyapati but so many great devotees
like Bhakta Surdas, Mirabai and others-- Baba appreciates all. So this
gives one picture how with devotion one can bind Him, otherwise not. So devotion is
the top-most and if anyone has devotion, whether margii or non-margii, then
that is great because devotion is everything. And Baba recognises and
blesses all sadhakas who have a devotional heart.
Note 2: In a deeply melancholic mood, Vidyapati used to express remorse
that, 'My life has become wasted as I did not worship Parama Purusa.'In
this way he used to cry for the Lord.
****************************************
Why Have We Come on this Earth
Baba says "This Parama Purus'a is the ultimate goal of existence, and only
to attain Him have human beings come onto this earth. If they fail to do
so, then they do not deserve to be called human beings. Hence life
devoid of dharma is worse than animal life." (SS-11, p.88)

Baba: Cemetery Sadhana "Very Encouraging"
About the Above Audio File: New Myth About Cemetery Sadhana in Ananda Marga
These days various senior Dadas are convincing junior workers and family margiis that going to the cemetery is only for kapalikas and that others do not have the right to go. They further state that "If you go to the cemetery then you are inviting your own destruction." This is the myth and fear complex they are injecting.
But in the above audio file, Baba is explicitly telling that going to the cemetery is "very encouraging" for sadhana and that all sadhakas should do sadhana in the cemetery whenever they get the chance.
(Note: Kindly understand that the above sound file has background noise because it was recorded while Baba is actually walking in the street with His entourage.)
The above 11 minute audio file from Kullu DMC, 01 Nov 1979, contains many deeply devotional moments. Baba's showers His varabhaya mudra, and gives His "Let everybody see the bright side' blessing. Plus He graciously corrects the pronunciation of some key words in Guru Puja. All the above is related with the posting of 15 Mar 2012, Baba Story: Wrong Pronunciation
Baba Announcing Lord Krs'n'a's Birthday: Janma's't'amii
Baba's Sound File on Krsna's Birthday
In the above sound file, Baba has announced Lord Krsna's birthday as Janma's't'amii. And indeed each and every year Baba would mention the exact day of Krsna's birthday. But not once did He ever give mention of the day of Krsna's leaving. That did not get talked about once.
We should follow Baba's Divine example and not give way to the dogma of mahaprayan.
The above sound files-- 'Can I rely on you' & one oath taking ceremony-- are related with the letter, 'They Were Trustless', posted Wednesday, 15 Feburary 2012. The person narrating the story about, 'Can I rely on you' is the late respected Dada Vijayanandji.
हम जिसको "positive microvitum" कहते हैं, दरअसल यह क्या है जी ? यह तो परमपुरुष की कृपा है | हम तुम लोगों को हँसाने के लिए बोलते हैं "positive microvitum" |
Baba says, "That which I call "positive microvitum", in reality what is it? Nothing but the grace of Parama Purus'a. I use the term "positive microvitum" to make you laugh." (1 January 1988 DMC, Anandanagar)
2 Devotional Bhajans at DMC (1966)
About the Above Bhajans from 1966 DMC
This posting, Unique Baba Darshan, details more of the scene at the above DMC where bhaktas are singing bhajans for Baba. Here are the titles of those two bhajans:
1. Baba tumhiin saha'ra '
(Baba, You are my shelter)
2. Tumha're liye giit ga'yenge, Baba
(Oh My Dearmost Baba, I will sing for You and spread Your glory)
In addition, please write us with the full transcription and translation of the above songs. That will be very helpful for other sadhakas.

Baba's above audio file depicts the proper way to pronounce our kiirtan mantra. This posting, Dispute on Pronunciation of Kiirtan, details more about this critical topic.
"Ticket for Hell"
About the Above Audio File
In the above file, Baba clearly says, "The priest has got no right to issue you a ticket of heaven, and who is going to issue him with a ticket for Hell?"
But the publishers printed that line completely wrong. They wrote, "The priest has no right to issue you a ticket, and who is going to issue you a ticket to Hell?"
Unfortunately, there are countless errors and distortions in this printed discourse. For all the details read this posting, Proof of Distortion: AV-11-12.

Gruesome Ways of Capitalism
There are innumerable gruesome examples how the king of capitalism, the United States, destroys other countries in order to control their resources. Here is alink to the disastrous effects of poisons like agent orange (dioxin) that were used as chemical weapons during the Vietnam war. Still today the general population is suffering from horrendous birth defects. This posting further talks about this phenomenon: Examples of Useful & Harmful Emotion.
Definition of Ideology
Here in this blog, the term ideology is regularly used. This is the meaning.
Ideology is any teaching that is beneficial to one and all: Humans, animals, plants, animate and inanimate objects, and the whole creation. Ideology is any theory or philosophy that works in 360 degrees and aims towards universal welfare.
The theory that is only for the benefit of a particular race, caste, group, clan, community, religion or nation is not ideology in our view. Theirs is just a narrow agenda. The term ideology means being concerned for everyone and everything: flora and fauna.
In addition, those drowned in personal problems who do not think about the suffering of others are living a life based on selfishness.
In all such cases, their approach is diametrically opposite to what what we mean by the term, ideology. We should help such persons give up their narrow boundaries and selfish agendas and live a life based on the tenets of universal benevolence. Then theirs will be a life based on ideology.
To do and die for ideology means working tirelessly for the service of all: To commit one's life, i.e. every waking moment from childhood up to the last breath, to this high ideal of universal welfare. That is the spirit of doing and dying for ideology. To do something selfless that is beneficial for all, not one particular group, always harboring the idea that everyone is my kith and kin.
Sam'skrta Pronunciation: Rs'i
Translation of Rs'i Sound File
Here is the English Translation of Baba's above audio file:
"You may want to keep this in mind, that the word Rs’i, (although talking about the letter ‘R’ of course comes under philology) in Vedic language is pronounced as R and in elongated form is Rr. Not Ri but simply R. Deva + Rs’i = Devars’i. In North India people incorrectly pronounce it as Ris’i while in South India they incorrectly pronounce it as Rus’i."- Baba

"Baba is on My Side"
About the Above Sound File: Purnea DMC 1971
The above sound file is from Purnea DMC in 1971 wherein Baba is explaining that in the clash between two Buddhist factions, both sides lost their ideology. Tragically, similar events are going on now in our AMPS. Please refer to this posting, ...Baba is on my side.
Here is the English translation of Baba's above teaching.
Baba says, "About thirty-five years ago [in 1936], a war was going on between two countries, the citizens of which have the same religion (Buddhist). When the soldiers went to war, their mothers used to pray to Lord Buddha to save the lives of their respective sons. What will Lord Buddha do? Save this man or that man? Both have the same “Is't'a,” but both parties have totally forgotten their ideology. If they were established in the ideology, they would not have gone to war." (SE)
Devotional Hindi Bhajan
About the Above Bhajan
The above sound file serves as a reminder of how in the 1960's margiis would sing bhajans to receive Baba as there was no Prabhat Samgiita in those days.
Although the bhajan in is Hindi, by listening anyone can feel the devotional vibration. Baba had just come and margiis were singing this song for His divine reception.
Mera' Baba a'j a'ya'
The meaning of the first line is:
"Oh my dearmost Baba has come..."
Baba Beautifully Sings Sam'gacchadhvam'
About Baba Singing Sam'gacchadhvam'
In the above file, Baba is singing the samgacchadhvam chant in such a rhythmical and lyrical manner. It is truly a unique occasion. This occurred in the late 60's.
The main reason to listen to the file is to perfect our pronunciation of the chant and to practice the proper pronunciation in our weekly dharmacakra.
In our Tantric sadhana, the pronunciation and intonation (rhythm) of the mantra is very important. We have different mantras and shlokas for various practices and the pronunciation and rhythym needs to be proper. If these elements are not proper, then the effect is reduced / compromised. So we should all be vigilant to perfect the pronunication and rhythmic flow of the shloka by emulating Baba's style.
Kiirtan & Bhajan: Gwalior DMC '79
About the Kiirtan and Bhajan of Gwalior DMC
As we all know, Baba graciously introduced Prabhat Samgiita in 1982, so before then it was quite common to sing bhajans at DMC as was done in Gwalior in 1979. Here is the title and translation of this bhajan.
Mere Babaji yahan a'ye, duniya' kii naeya' pa'r karo
My Dearmost Baba has come to grant emancipation to all.
Bhojpurii Bhajan Clip
About the above Bhohpurii Bhajan
Tu' a'gail ho, Baba, dedo darshanava'n
In the above song, the bhaktas are blissfully singing and the spirit of their song is:
"Oh Baba, You have graciously come to give us Your darshan and blesssing."
By listening to the sound clip, anyone with even a little bit of devotion can hear how Baba is showering His grace and the bhaktas are in bhava - divine ecstasy.
One can feel that still this song carries that strong devotional vibration as Baba is sitting and listening.
In those early days there was no Prabhat Samgiita so margiis were singing bhajans in their mother tongue. If you have bhajans from your area when Baba visited, please send us those.
Those familiar with the above song should write us with the full lyrics as we only have this short segment.
About Religion
Baba says, "Religions create undue fear complex in the human mind. Utilizing the lure of heaven and the dread of hell they destroy nationality and humanity. Motivated by their own petty interests they create artificial divisions in the human society. Should intelligent people be bound by the serpentine nooses of such religions? No, they should not; they must not. If at all people allow themselves to be bound by nooses, it should be understood that they are intellectually bankrupt. In all countries of the world such people form separate communities. Perhaps religion has done the most damage to humanity. After all, it is in the name of religion that most human conflicts have occurred. Now the time has come to put an end to the conflict over religion forever." (AFPS-7)

Baba's Hilarious Joke: Lord Shiva Da'mbaru, Pranam Acarya
About Baba's Hilarious Joke in Above Audio
Shiva ke ha'th men d'ambaru' hai, Aor log Shiva ko pranam karate hein.
Aor d'ambaru' soch raha' hai, Ki log unko pranam kar raha' hai. (laughter)
In the above audio file, Baba is making one hilarious joke. He is saying that just as due to false ego the d'ambaru' (small drum) of Lord Shiva thinks that everyone is saluting it (i.e. the drum) and not Lord Shiva, similarly due to their inflated egos some of our acaryas / wts think that bhaktas are doing pranam to them when in fact those bhaktas are honoring and paying salutation to Baba, the Supreme Consciousness within. That is the hilarious joke which Baba is making. And everyone is laughing!
Namaskar, A respected senior margii from Tamil Nadu has shared this bhajan from the occasion of a DMC in 1965 in South India. The song itself is sung by Dada Samanvayanandji. Here is the main line:
Ta'raka Brahma A'nandamu'rti nama'myaham
O Lord Taraka Brahma Anandamurti, I pay my deepest salutations at Your divine alter.
Although the song is in Sam'skrta, even overseas margiis will recognise some or even many of the words. Part of the devotional nature of this bhajan is that Baba was graciously seated before all the margiis when they were singing this song.
Beautiful Baba Bhajan
About the Above Bhajan
During Baba's historic visit to Fiesch, Switzerland in 1979, margiis and acaryas gathered at His lotus feet and with full devotional feeling sang the above bhajan to Our Lord.
The lyrics are:
Baba, I adore You I lay my life before You O' Baba, I love You
Here are some of the most critical distortions / alterations made to our Ananda Marga scripture:
1) "Views of Other Faiths": Read Baba's original discourse about the defects and limitations of the Semitic religions (i.e. Judaism, Christianity, and Islam). This section has been unscrupulously removed from AM books by various factional Dadas who are more concerned with groupism than AM ideology.
Why they did like this:
By these above distortions such Dadas are testing the waters for permanently changing so many aspects of Baba's divine teachings, just like dogmatic priests of old distorted Lord Shiva's and Lord Krsna's teachings for their own personal gain.
Thus none should think that these scriptural distortions are mere typos. It demands our vigilance to ensure Baba's teachings are maintained in their original, pristine form.
Bhajan From Mumbai DMC 1971
About the Above Bhajan of Mumbai DMC 1971
"This bhajan is being sung and Beloved Baba is sitting there in His most beautiful form and all are singing and dancing before Him. What a beautiful scene it is...
In order to receive the full vibration, please participate by becoming a member of the audience of this darshan. Close your eyes, ideate on Him, and listen. Here is the song:
Baba terii mahima kis vidhi ga'u'n
The general meaning of the bhajan is, 'Oh Baba, Your glory is infinite, Your greatness cannot be expressed, how can I sing Your glory'."
The bhakta singing the above song is Diipakji of Mumbai.
Baba Corrects Guru Puja Pronuncation (II)
About the Above Audio File from Deoghar DMC
In the above audio file, from Deoghar DMC Jan 8, 1984, Baba is lovingly guiding us about the proper pronunciation of our Guru Puja chant. The above file is related with the letter, Baba Story: Deoghar DMC Guru Puja, posted 18 October 2008.
Baba Says Lust for Post is a Psychic Disease
About the Above Audio File About Lust of Post
In the above audio file, Baba is declaring that those who have lust for the post suffer from a psychic disease. Keeping this teaching in mind, we should not allow any groupist vulture to now grab the post of PP. That will not be good for our Marga. This above audio clip is translated, discussed, and transcribed in the posting, Who Can Become PP, of 15 Oct 2008.
Followers of Dogma Should Read This:
Baba says, "The main structure of the society, rather, the bulk of the society, moved on goaded by these dogmas [like groupism], and this movement of dogma was known as the mainstream of life. Those who did not accept this, those who were guided by reasoning and rationality, were treated as unwanted beings." (AFPS-5)
So we should not harbor the idea that millions of people will quickly come and support us. Those who want to serve the society must not be concerned about public opinion and praise. Rather one should be rationally guided by the idea of serving God and His creation.
The above Ananda Vanii is a small sampling of how we can practice svadhyaya iun this modern era. By this way we can better utilise our both time and human potential.
Again, this is just a sampling; very soon we hope to post the entire Ananda Vanii collection in audio format on this blog. Your comments and input are requested.

Devotional Bhajan
About the Bhajan File
By Baba's grace bhaktas gathered on New Year's Day in 1979 in Patna and the vibration was divine as they sung this above bhajan to Baba. The posting, of 22 March 2008, Here is...the Divine Resonance of Those Days, neatly describes the scene.
