Baba
"A'ka'shabhara' a'jake ta'ra'..." (P.S. 2523)
Purport:
The sky of this amavasya night is filled with the stars. The sweet
breeze, like nectar, is blowing mildly. The mind is floating from the
known to the unknown world in divine ecstasy-- towards its destination.
Ensconced in His ideation, my mind is getting lost. The lily flower is
constantly looking towards the sky; the aroma of flowers is emanating
all around. They have forgotten their awareness about their own
existence. And remain restless in the attraction of one call. In Your
longing I am sitting alone and counting the stars. I understand that by
Your grace I have lost myself in this beautiful atmosphere and the
attraction of Your love. You are ever gracious You are always remaining
by my side and guiding me. Baba, on this amavasya night my heart is
yearning and longing for You...
== RE: RESULTS OF THE POLL ==
Namaskar,
The poll results are interesting.
Most still opt for Baba stories and devotional topics, with a score of
67% and 65% respectively.
AM philosophy and a Proutistic interpretation of current events come in
third at 55% each. Organizational news follows at a less significant 43%.
What does this tell us?
Most readers want to know more about spiritual and devotional stories
and people's spiritual experiences.**
The results also seem to suggest that Margiis are not so interested to
hear about organizational news, perhaps because they don't know whom to
trust. The Internet is blind. It shows everything it sees: illusion,
delusion or otherwise. So the reader is left to judge what is accurate
and what is not. The problem is that not all readers have a discerning
eye to read the invisible script or what's written between the lines. So
rumours, untruths, half truths, twisted facts and mangled information
etc. are carefully packaged and passed off as facts.
It also suggests to me that Margiis are fed up with the politiking and
deft maneuverings of the different splinters of the Marga and their agents.
This is both good and bad but a low interest in organizational issues
may signal the lack of a practical and pragmatic approach to resolving
serious issues confronting the Mission, which means the crooked will try
to use more crooked means to get their messages across to fulfill their
self-serving agendas. I hope my analysis is wrong!
With all the rubbish we see on many competing websites, and with a view
to long term sustainability of this website, I sincerely hope the
gatekeepers of this website maintain a watchful eye on neutrality,
accuracy and balance in your offerings...
I wish you and your readers a good year.
By Baba's grace things will turn around soon in our Marga and head in a
purely positive direction.
Baba says, "Nowadays, the entire human society is facing the crisis of
civilization as a whole, and particularly a crisis in the field of
existence. Human society is now to decide whether to live or to die. If
this mud-slinging and intolerance are encouraged, humanity has no future
– the future is dark, the future is sealed forever. But you know, I am
not a pessimist. I am always an optimist. And I want all my sons and
daughters to be optimists. And I want them to struggle against this
death signal of humanity, and come out successful." (AV-34)
Yours truly
Birendra
Note 1: ONE SUGGESTION
One suggestion*: Collect the Baba stories and publish a series of new
books (hardcopy but soft copies could also be on sale) for Margiis' and
sadhakas' benefit. You couldn't get a better source. It's also a new
source of income for your website, which could be put to good use.
You'll probably need more hands at editing and verifying the stories.
Note 2: SPECIAL MESSAGE BELOW
At the very bottom of this email is one of Baba's very interesting
critiques on materialism and its effect on the human mind etc.
**************************************************
LOOK WITHIN
Baba says, "What are psychic pabula? The word “psychic” means mental and
“pabula” implies “mental objects” or “mental foods”. Communism and
capitalism are essentially materialist philosophies. Both encourage a
psychology of material attachment, which in turn encourages the pursuit
of money, name, fame, etc. People living under either of these two
systems develop the psychic pabula which run after crude physicalities.
All these objective tendencies are the inevitable outcome of the
continuous extroversial movement of psychic urges, insatiably driving
themselves from one object to another. While running after such material
attachments, the mind constantly creates objects in its objective
chambers or citta bhumi. All these mental objects are mental food, and
they are called psychic pabula."
"Similarly, while engaged in physical or psycho-physical interactions,
mind thrives on these pabula. When it changes its outlook and goal, its
objects or pabula also change. So the human mind is continuously dragged
in thousands of directions, creating innumerable objects within itself.
These objects are nothing but psychic pabula (“pabula” are plural),
always alluring and always detracting the mind. All these pabula grow
out of psychic urges, psycho-physical demands, the reactive momenta of
the mind and objectified environmental conditions." (PNS-12)
Note: In the above quote Baba is warning us how materialism ruins the
human mind and it is rampant around the globe these days. Baba is
furthermore telling that the large majority of the people are suffering
from this terrible syndrome. So we should all beware and not fall prey
to this terrible fate.
