== WHY SADHANA IS DIFFICULT ==

Namaskar,
When a sadhaka sits for meditation then sometimes they find it hard to concentrate. The reason is very simple. When the mind is preoccupied with something else, then those thoughts disturb the mind and divert it away from sadhana. In that case, the repetition of one’s mantra becomes difficult and / or the mind goes somewhere else.

Think of it this way:

(a) If someone thinks, “I want to become a doctor”, “I will become a king”, “I will start a business”, “I will become a film hero”, “I will become a dancer”, then they will not be able to achieve anything. They cannot aim to be a doctor one week and then the next week aim for becoming a movie star and still expect to gain success. If one thinks in this fickle-minded fashion, always changing their goal, then they will never progress.

(b) Similarly if one student thinks, “I will become a football champion”, “I will score the highest on my university exam”, “I will be a farmer”, “I like fishing”, “I will go hunting”, “I will become a gang leader”, then again that person will not do anything. One cannot change their plan every week or every month and still expect to attain success. It will not happen.

Here the point is that the mind is one.

Human beings can only do one work at a time. If you want to be successful in life you have to focus on one endeavour at a time - in a sustained fashion. This theorem applies to sadhana as well.

HOW TO APPROACH SADHANA

Before starting sadhana one has to be fully convinced in their own mind that, “I do not have any other work. I only have to do my sadhana – without entertaining any other thoughts. Above all, one’s conviction should be: “I want to realise Parama Purusa – I do not have any other longing in my life.” If this idea is firm in the mind, then success is sure. Then one’s sadhana will be proper.

This type of firmness of mind develops slowly – and may even fluctuate along the way. For beginners, this firm determination may at first seem a bit elusive. Slowly then – with steadfast sincerity – you have to train your mind to think about the Goal. Then in due course, this firm feeling will develop and the mind will become pin-pointed towards Parama Purusa. When there is only 1% conviction, then one will achieve 1% success; and when there is 100% conviction, then there is 100% success.

We are all aware about how Lord Buddha got realization. When he had only one single desire, then his mind became focused and he reached his goal. More about this is noted below.

The central idea is that in order to do proper sadhana pointedness of mind is needed. And pointedness comes when your mind is focused: Focused on one occupation. Doing one thing at one time – not entertaining other ideas.

Those individuals with dual or multiple personalities cannot focus their mind and hence cannot get success. That is why only simple, honest, truthful and straightforward people can achieve their goal easily. Those who are fickle-minded, unfocused, hypocritical and those with multiple personalities never reach their goal.

That is what Baba has described in His teaching: To get success in sadhana, satyas'hreyii is a must. What is satya'shrayii? Satya means benevolent truthfulness; ashreya means shelter; and the suffix ii means the one who. Thus satya'sharyii is the one who takes shelter in satya. Only such person gain true success.

So one must give up all hypocrisy. Then iccha shakti (will power) will develop and the mind will easily become concentrated. Then one will have a new life start where sadhana happens in a very natural way.

STORY OF LORD BUDDHA

So only those who are strict in dharma and take shelter in satya, i.e. satya’shrayii, can develop iccha shakti (will power) and by that way attain the goal of life. The classic story of this is Buddha.

Baba says, “When Lord Buddha first sat in contemplation, his goal was not fixed. There was doubt and confusion in his mind. He was not certain of what he wanted. And so, whatever he wanted, he was not certain of getting it. But later, when Buddha sat in contemplation, he took a complete sam’kalpa. He fixed his goal and made a firm determination to achieve it. He resolved that he would not get up from his meditation until he attained spiritual realization, even if his body perished. Then he succeeded in attaining his goal.” (Ananda Vacanamrtam – 1)

Similarly, the more we are firm in our 16 Points etc, the more iccha shakti (will power) we will develop and the greater resolve we will have in sadhana. We will think, ‘I must get Parama Purusa’, and that will be supported by an internal flow of mind.

Conversely, if we just view sadhana as something that is done in order to eat food or go to sleep etc, then that sadhana will never lead one to the Goal. It is not that by doing sadhana like this for 25 or 50 years then magically one day Baba will come and grant salvation. That is not the way it works.

Our sadhana progresses according to our own internal commitment to it. The more we adhere to His guidelines of dharma and satya etc, the more iccha shakti we develop. And then with that force of mind, our sadhana becomes fruitful, otherwise not. That is Baba’s distinct teaching.

Thus if one is constantly delinquent in following Sixteen Points, or if one is irregular in fasting, skips over sadhana lessons, eats poorly, or does not do kaoshikii, tandava, and asanas etc, then one will suffer from a distinct weakness of mind, and that will hamper one’s sadhana.

So all of Baba’s teachings are connected to developing the requisite iccha shakti (will power or psychic stamina & determination) in order to advance on the path of sadhana and attain Him.

MAKING SADHANA A VITAL FORCE

At one time or another, we have all experienced difficulty in doing sadhana, either due to lack of desire, poor concentration, lethargy, or time management issues like procrastination, etc.

Yet sadhana is the key to our success. Without sadhana our lives just become a myriad of useless engagements. Whereas with sadhana, our each and every breath is meaningful and we advance towards the Goal of life.

To keep sadhana a vital force and at the forefront of our lives, we should pay strict attention to Baba’s ideals of satya’shrayii and iccha shakti.

This will help fuel our journey towards Him.

BEING ESTABLISHED IN SATYA'SHRAYII IS EASY FOR ANANDA MARGIIS

As we all know, satya is the second principle of yama sadhana and means ‘benevolent truthfulness’, or always acting in the spirit of welfare. And a’shreya means ‘shelter’. And the suffix ii means the one who. So satya’shrayii means ‘the one who takes shelter in satya’, or is always true to dharma.

Baba has graciously given us the right interpretation of dharma as clear-cut injunctions like Sixteen Points, conduct rules, and 15 Shiilas etc.

We know what to eat, when to drink, how to act, what sadhana is, when to do kiirtan etc. Every possible direction Baba has graciously given us so that we may pointedly follow the path of dharma.

By this way, we can easily be established in satya’shrayii, the path of benevolence.

WHAT HAPPENS NEXT:

THE GROWTH OF ICCHA SHAKTI

By being true to dharma and being established in or taking shelter satya, one other wonderful development occurs. We develop iccha shakti or will power, by His grace.

In sadhana one begins to think, more and more, that, ‘I must get Him’. A strength of mind or firm determination results. Because one’s base of life is grounded in truth and dharma. That brings conviction, integrity of mind, and iccha shakti, i.e. will power.

We all know that following Baba’s mandates and adhering to dharma is integral for any sadhaka. By this way we will be able to heighten our sadhana, reach our Supreme Goal, and manifest many great works on this earth, by His grace.

In the Acarya Diary, Baba explains in greater detail how this works – within the mind as well as externally. In His explanation Baba uses terms like satya’shreyii and iccha shakti. By understanding the inner essence of these concepts, we can be more pointed in our pursuit of attaining Him in sadhana and be a dharmic force in society.

Here again we should remember:

The central idea is that in order to do proper sadhana pointedness is needed. The requisite pointedness comes when the mind is focused on a single aim. Doing one thing at one time; other ideas should not be allowed to bifurcate the mind.

In that situation will power or iccha shakti will develop and the mind will become concentrated. That will make one’s life totally new wherein sadhana will happen in a very natural way. i.e. the mind will easily become concentrated.

BABA’S BLESSING

Baba has graciously given us one special way to develop more and more iccha shakti. When we think of Him in all our activities and dealings, then naturally our thoughts, words, and actions will be according to His desire. And that will bring great strength and ultimately victory in life. Then we are sure to attain Him.

Baba says, “You should always remember one thing: that your spiritual practice, your mundane activities, your worldly ideology, your social, economic, and moral ideals in every sphere of your existence must be suffused with the ideation that you love your Lord, and you should love Him for only one reason – to please Him.” (Subhasita Samgraha-11)

Baba says, “To attain Him you will have to think of Him, to ideate and meditate on Him. There is no other way to become one with Him.” (Ananda Marga Ideology and Way of Life – 6)

Baba’s teaching guides us that while doing sadhana there should not be all kinds of worldly desires. Rather there should only be one desire. The mind should be wholly focused on the Divine Entity.

The final conclusion is that before sadhana one should think that I have no other engagement “I have to do sadhana”. So one should allot the time and start sadhana. If any stray thoughts come, then those thoughts will not be entertained. Rather using auto suggestion, one should remind oneself again and again that “I do not have any other work. I have to realise Parama Purusa.” If on a regular basis one sadhaka practices like this, then sadhana will be natural, easy and blissful.

Namaskar,
Gaurishankar Deva

Note 1: A COLLECTIVE EFFORT

Baba, You are the embodiment of hope, inspiration, and bliss. Language is wholly incapable of expressing Your greatness. Baba, in this poignant moment, You have come here to remove my agony and sufferings, and to wipe away my tears in these dark days. In the blink of an eye, You graciously removed all the degnerating and negative thoughts that had accumulated in my mind. Baba, this is Your grace.

Baba, nobody except You is mine - to whom else I can relate my pain. You are the only Entity in this universe who is mine, to whom I open my heart and express everything. Indeed there is no one else in this entire universe except You to whom I can tell the inner feelings of my heart within these three worlds, tribhuvan.

O' my dearmost Baba, You are the nucleus of all effulgence. Please grace me by singing the song of divinity in my ears. Baba, please come close to me. I have prepared one freshly blossomed flower garland for You which is full of fragrance. And I am waiting for that auspicious moment when You will come, and then in a lonely place I will offer that garland to You. Baba, You are my everything. With Your divine arrival all my sufferings have gone, because I have gotten You. This is exclusively Your grace...

Namaskar,

Brother Divyam'shu wrote:

The fact is that Mr Pathak’s dance programs are strongly influenced by Bollywood sensuality [mature girls exposing their bellies etc]. As a performance director, he takes all his cues from the materialistic movie / fashion industry. That is why there is so much pseudo-culture in his dance productions that are done under the banner of Rawa. So how could a highly posted Dada like Acintanandji think that Pathakji is establishing dharma? Dadaji’s analysis is quite disturbing.

My reply:

Exactly- if this happened in May DMS, it should be rectified as early as possible. This is not only the fault of Mr. Pathak. Besuse if Mr. Pathak was using this type of dance pattern then it should be controlled by RAWA incharge Dada - Ac Acintanandji Avt.

Mr.Pathak is a very young chap so maybe he is just confused about RAWA's system given by BABA; in contrast, in-charge Dada Acintanandji should have full awareness of the platform of RAWA and hence Dada controll any and all programs performed through RAWA.

All programs should be passed and reviewed by the RAWA dept. or advisory committee of RAWA dept. before being presented in the public forum.

Indeed, the in-charge of each & every dept. of AMPS should have proper knowledge of the events and programs of his dept. Otherwise we will have to face this type of blunder on a regular basis.

Namaskar,

"Current GS Dada (Ranchi), Ac. Citsvarupananda Avt, recently collected a huge sum of money (25 - 30 lakhs of rupees) from various Wts and margiis as a loan. GS Dada promised to return back the money many-fold to lenders. But now he is not willing to return any of the money back to margiis and WTs ."

Indeed, a huge financial scam has unfolded in the highest echelons of our AMPS structure. Here is a basic sketch of what has transpired:

1. Recently GS Dada Citsvarupanandaji approached acaryas and margiis – one on one – for financial contributions; i.e. GS Dada wanted or needed to borrow money from margiis, dads & didis.

2. GS Dadaji claimed that a huge donation of 25 crores (i.e. 25 x 10,000,000 or 250 million) rupees was coming from a third party in the US – a social service club.

3. Dadaji explained that in order for him as GS Dada to receive this huge donation of 25 crores, he would have to cover all lawyer fees, bank transaction fees, and taxes.

4. In this way Citsvarupananda Dada claimed that he needed RS 7 1/2 lakhs or RS 750,000 up front in order to secure the contribution of 250 crores from overseas.

5. On this premise, Dadaji quietly and secretly approached countless dadas, didis and margiis for loans in order to raise the 7 1/2 lakhs of rupees.

6. To be effective as possible in securing the maximum number of loans, GS Dada used one pitch, or line, to reel people in. He would say things like: “I am in my hour of need – this is a test to see who is my own – who will help me in my time of need – and this is that time.” This is the sentimental strategy that GS Dada adopted in order coax people into lending him money.

7. Many put their trust in GS and gave him money. It should also be noted that Dadaji promised that every lender would be paid back double once the big 250 crore contribution arrived. He also advised everyone not to tell people about this special plan, otherwise “they will snatch away your money in the future.”

8. Among the various workers and family margiis who loaned GS Dada money, I know that many margiis from Delhi also contributed.

Now Citsvarupananda is telling everyone that he cannot return the money (i.e. lakhs and lakhs) that he borrowed from margiis, dadas, and didis because he lost it all to some scammer.

Namaskar,
Cakreshvara Shrivastav

"Prabhu tumi eso ghare eso a'ma'r ghare..." (PS 632)

Purport:

Baba, please grace me by coming to my house - O' Supreme One, please come to my abode. Having lit the lamp of longing & yearning for You, I am anxiously awaiting. Baba, with deep longing in my heart, I am looking toward the path of Your arrival. O' my Dearmost, please come in my mind, in my heart. Baba, why are You remaining on the dark path in the deep night and keeping distant. I have lit the lamp for You. O' my Dearest, I am waiting for You. Please come in my mind, in my heart-- please come.

Baba, with a deep yearning & longing to get You, I am looking all around in search of You. I think about You while looking up toward the sky and I wonder where You are. O' my Dearmost, I hear Your tales from the songs of the stars in the sky. They chant about Your divine splendour and sing about Your glory. O' Baba, I am just a unit being and You are that Cosmic Entity. Even then my heart feels that I am Yours and You are mine. Baba, by Your grace I have realised that this is the quintessence. O' my Dearmost, You have made me realise that You are my everything - nothing else. All other things come and go in this transitory world; only You are my eternal Companion, my Bandhu. Baba, our relation is beyond everything - beyond this relative world.

Baba, with a strong desire to get You and have Your proximity, by Your grace I have prepared a seat for You in the corner of my mind. And I have
decorated that seat with dhu'p, diip, shubhrainjain [1] - the love of my heart. O' Baba, ensconced in Your shravan, manan, niddhidhyasana [2],
bhajan, and kiirtan, I am waiting for You. By Your grace, I have collected flowers for You from my mental garden. O' my Dearmost I have arranged them
just for You. With those flowers, I want to offer my mind, my heart, my everything at Your lotus feet. Baba, please come to me...

END NOTES FOR PRABHAT SAMGIITA #632:

[1] Dhu'p, Diip, Shubhrainjain: This is one way to decorate one's sadhana room with (a) dhu'p, which is one type of fragrant wood like sandalwood,
(b) diip, which refers to those little lamps used during Diipavali celebrations, and (c) shubhrainjain, which is a brilliant ointment or effulgent callarium. Of course, in the setting of Prabhat Samgiita, these three terms have an internal meaning as well. These words signify that the sadhaka has prepared his heart and mind in a nice way in order to receive Parama Purusa. One is calling out to Him with love and devotion by His grace.

[2] Shravan, Manan, Niddhidhyasana: Here below Baba explains the great import of these three devotional practices.

Baba says, "To attain Him human beings have to take recourse to shravana (constantly hearing His name), manana (constantly ideating on Him) and
nididya'sana (constantly meditating on Him). The Supreme Entity is Gurha, that is, He is lying hidden in the innermost recess of the human entity. To
attain Him one must penetrate deep within oneself, and for that the development of an introversial outlook is essential." (Tattva Kaomudi - 3)

== ONE SHOULD ASSESS ONESELF OF THE FOLLOWING ==

Namaskar,

Baba says, "When human beings feel that, 'Parama Purusa is my everything', then that is called as sharan (shelter). No being can come under the sharan (shelter) of two different Entities. So what is the meaning of Sharanagati (surrender)? When living beings give up their 'I-feeling' by withdrawing the mind from any other object and completely adopt the feeling that Parama Purusa alone is my everything."

"Up to the time when any person is thinking that they are working with their own strength, then we should understand that the feeling of sharanagati has not yet come in them. And when human beings think that, 'I am doing the work only with His strength', it means the feeling of sharanagati has come in their mind. So when living beings start thinking that, 'Whatever work I am doing, I am doing with His strength', then they have the feeling of sharanagati." (General Darshan, Patna DMC, 1970, [from audio tape])

Baba

"Jhar'er ra'te a'ndha'rete kendechilum van-ma'jhe..."   (P.S. 3199)

Purport:

Baba, on that very dark night when a big hurricane & thunderstorm was raging, I was crying alone in the deep forest. Nobody was there to understand the tale of my suffering. Nobody was close to me. Certainly You were there along with me, but due to my narrow outlook I could not feel Your presence.

In the height of that wild storm big branches were breaking off from the trees and crashing down on the ground. And all those tender buds and
beautiful flowers were also completely blown off from the limbs of the trees; those buds and flowers were crying bitterly. That very dark, horrendous night was so disastrous.

Baba, O' Parama Purusa, in the madhuvan [1] of my mind when that hurricane finished, then a sweet, soft, breeze started blowing by Your grace; and I began to feel Your divine, blissful vibration. And ultimately by Your great compassion that deadly night of the cimmerian darkness has passed away entirely; it is completely gone. Baba, You are the Saviour of all, the Benevolent Entity, the dearest one of my heart.

Baba, my most dear One, please grace me by coming closer and closer with Your sweet, charming, & attractive smile...

END NOTE FOR PRABHAT SAMGIITA #3199:

[1] Madhuvan: Literally meaning "sweet forest"; But it refers to that remote, isolated, garden in the mind that is filled with spring blossoms, sweet
fragrance, aromatic flowers, and a gentle & fragrant breeze. It is that tranquil mental abode  where nobody is present except the devotee and the
Lord. And there the bhakta and Parama Purusa sit together ensconced in that very divinely intoxicated atmosphere and they share the loving feeling of
their heart in a very close, intimate, and loving way.

== REVOLUTIONARY ANGLE OF VISION ==

Namaskar,

Baba says, "The people who have committed some misdeeds driven by want (be that want of food or clothes or of physical or mental gratification) make society responsible for it. They want to convey to us that their want was created due to flaws in the social system, which is, however, substantially
true." (Human Society - 1, '87, p.77)

Here following are some observations about Baba's above teaching:

1. This tragic scene which Baba is describing is happening throughout the globe. In "third-world" countries and in so-called advanced nations, often
the common mass is denied getting their basic necessities - in which case,  with no other option, they are pressured into committing crimes.

2. In turn, the "powers-that-be" wrongly blame and convict that individual and label them as a thief or criminal.

3. However, in His dharmic & revolutionary approach, Baba views the situation completely differently. He holds the society at fault for putting its own citizens in such a dire position wherein they cannot even get their minimum requirements (food, clothing, shelter, education and medical care).

4. We should pay heed to Baba's guideline and also make it known that the real culprits are those who are hoarding all the material wealth and not
allowing general society members to get their basic needs met.

5. Parama Purusa has given an enormous amount of wealth for maintaining the human society; but, because of the terribly improper ways of distribution. drastic inequalities have emerged and so many problems have erupted around the globe.

6. Everyone should remember Prout's unique approach that 100% of the wealth belongs to Parama Purusa. He is the owner. It is everyone's birthright to utilise this wealth in a rational way, but He is the Creator and the Owner.

Baba says, "None of the movable or immovable property of this universe belongs to any particular individual; everything is the common patrimony of all, and the Father of all is Brahma. All living beings can enjoy their rightful share of this property, like members of a joint family in the Dáyabhága system. As members of a joint family, human beings should safeguard this common property in a befitting manner and utilize it properly. They should also make proper arrangements so that everyone can enjoy it with equal rights, ensuring that all have the minimum requirements of life to enable them to live in a healthy body with a sound mind." (Problems of the Day, Point #1)

Namaskar,
Gagan

== Re: DMS NEWS: UNCULTURED DANCE IN CULTURAL PROGRAM ==

(Note: This is the eighth letter on this thread. Please find links to the seven earlier letters below. - Eds)

To Acintanandaji
and others who supported this issue to promote female adult dancing in our RAWA programs at DMS.

Namaskar,

We all know that before 1990 cultural programs were done regularly. In those performances, the girls were below 8 years of age and all aspects of the program were very sentient. So the programs achieved the goal: The mind was led in proper direction, not a negative one.

WE ATTEND TO SANCTIFY THE MIND

So we should be honest with ourselves. We all go to DMS not for carnal satiation or to satisfy our lower propensities, nor for all kinds of TV channel delights or Holly / Bollywood movie scenes. We go to DMS because we think it to be a dharmic program. Going to a dharmic ceremony should entail strict adherence to a code of discipline and not any negative encouragement of the mind.

Baba says, “You are not merely an animal: simply eating, drinking and sleeping is not everything for a human. A human has a subtler life, a more charming life...Your physico-psychic activities are architecture, literature, dance, music – they are all your physico-psychic movement. And this movement is from crude to subtle, starting from the cruder arena and moving towards the subtler arena. That’s why in Ananda Marga I encourage this physico-psychic movement: because it will help you in moving towards the subtler world, in moving towards the supreme spiritual goal... For physico-psychic movement, I encourage boys and girls to start work in the RAWA [Renaissance Artists' and Writers' Association] movement.” (Ánanda Vacanámrtam Part 30 ˜ - Human Expressions and Human Movements 31 May 1979 evening, Valencia)

So Baba's directive is quite clear and pointed: Use RAWA programs bring the mind to a more subtle state.

Unfortunately the RAWA programs directed by Sri Mrinal Pathak and "approved" by Dada Acintanandji are falling far short of Baba's given standard. Dadaji and Mr Pathak are producing cultural performances that degrade the mind, using ploys like naked belly dancing etc.

This must be stopped and we should proceed on according to Baba's below guidelines.

BABA’S GUIDELINE:

HOW TO MAKE A SENTIENT PROGRAM

Here are some practical steps we can take to ensure that our cultural programs are in line with Baba’s stated guidelines.

1. Girls below puberty, 8 or 9 years of age, should dance for a co-ed audience; whereas those girls above puberty (aged 10 - 16 etc) can dance to an all female audience.

2. When any drama or dance occurs that requires boys and girls to dance together, then similar aged girls should play the role of boys. And they too should be below puberty.

3.  Even then our small girls should not wear revealing or Hollywood type of dress. And the music must be sentient. The music itself also carries a vibration, positive or negative microvita.

Adhering to the above tenets, the program will be devoid of "risque behaviours" and the entire performance will be totally sentient.

BABA'S WARNING

Here below Baba warns how crude dance and song totally ruins a program.

Baba says, “If someone makes a sound like ‘ra, ra, ra — cha, cha, cha’ or if someone sings, ‘Follow my song. Let us sing and dance our way to hell’, these are sound inferences, but they carry a very crude idea.” (Microvita in a Nutshell, p. 94)

We should not let such scenes unfold in our own Ananda Marga cultural programs. Yet, that is what Mr Pathak and Ac Acintanandji (cultural program in-charge) are doing.

"Arupe chile tumi rupe esecho, dhara'ke a'loke bhaviyecho..." (PS 2665)

Purport:

Baba, You were formless in Your unexpressed stance of Nirguna Brahma but now by Your infinite grace You have come in form as the Taraka Brahma [1]. Baba, You are so gracious. You have filled this earth with Your divine
effulgence and fathomless grace. Baba, with Your boundless compassion You have saturated this world with Your divine nectar. O' Lord, You are the most Loving Entity in this vast universe. I do pranam to You again and again. I surrender completely at Your lotus feet.

Baba, in whichever direction I look on this earth, I only see Your magnificent Self in this expressed world. Baba, besides You nothing else exists; except You, I do not see anything. You are reflecting Yourself in each and every entity - animate & inanimate. Baba this world is filled with Your divine presence. O' my dearmost, You are expressing Yourself with such overflowing bliss in each and every molecule and atom of this creation and in the transcendental realms also. Everything is filled with Your grace-- both the expressed and unexpressed worlds. Nobody is alone; nothing has been forgotten. All are under Your loving shelter. Baba, although You are present throughout this created universe, even then in Bhavatiita [2] also, only You are there. Baba, You graciously fill both the manifested and unmanifested worlds with Your divine bliss.

Baba, You are the Goal of everyone. Without You, nobody has any future. Those who do not realise this think they are everything. But ultimately because You are the Goal of life their extreme arrogance gets pulverised. Their vanity is just wallowing at Your feet with the hope that You are going to forgive them and shower Your infinite grace and save them from total destruction because You are eternally established in karuna'.

Baba, You are so gracious; You have come and showered everyone and everything in Your bliss...

NOTES TO PRABHAT SAMGIITA #2665:

[1] Ta'raka Brahma:
Some naive persons think that Taraka Brahma is gone. But that is not true. Because the dhyan Baba has taught us is the ideation on Taraka Brahma. And Baba Himself has said that to know Him and have Him, one must get Him in dhyana. That is why even central workers who were surrounding Baba 24hrs day were also forced to close their eyes and do sadhana each and every day. Because the real connection with Taraka Brahma occurs within. That is why we can say that the presence of Taraka Brahma lives on and on for devotees. Because it is in that form that He is present in dhyana. And indeed that is the only way to realise Him. And that dhyan did not change after 1990 - it is the same meditation. In that case which devotee can truly say that Taraka Brahma is gone - no one. Because by His grace each and every day we communicate with Him in dhyana in His divine form as the Taraka Brahma.

All in all, this is a vast discussion and there numerous angles to discuss but the overarching idea is that for devotees, the divine Presence of Taraka Brahma goes on and on as Baba remains ever-present in their mental plate in that form.

Baba says, "Ta'raka Brahma is not a figure of philosophy - it is a creation of devotional sentiment." (Idea & Ideology)

[2] Bhavatiita: In His stance of bhavatiita, Parama Purusa is beyond all physical manifestations and beyond all thought conceptions.

Baba says, "Parama Purus'a, the Supreme Reality, is beyond all speech and thought: He is beyond the reach of the vocal cord. So He is bha'va'tiita ["beyond bha'va"]...The more one thinks of His infinite qualities, the more one becomes speechless, the more deeply one becomes absorbed in Him. However He is viewed, He is seen to be the newest of the new-- constantly new. That is why He has been described as bha'va'tiita abhinava ["beyond
bha'va, ever-new"]." (Namah Shivaya Shantaya, Disc: 19)

== RELATIONS WITH OTHERS ==

Namaskar,

Baba says, "Bear in mind that you have a duty towards-- indeed, you owe a debt to-- every creature of this Universe, but towards you, no one has any duty; from others, nothing is due." (Caryacarya - 2, 'Sadhana', pt #3)

In the various dogmatic religions, it is often taught that God has created this whole universe solely for the enjoyment of human beings. That is why, without a second thought, religious followers kill animals and exploit downtrodden people up to the bone without any qualms. Such followers think that everything has been put on this earth for my pleasure and gain.

Motivated by this dogmatic teaching, selfish people's mind works in that way. Such lowly people think that, 'Others have the duty to take care of my situation and their own situation as well. And they should not bother me about their own problems'. This is the way such selfish persons think. And if due to some reason that same lowly person helps others then that selfish person thinks that in the near future the person they helped should pay them back in full plus interest for their so-called service. Thus there is no question of true duty and service; these ideals have no place in their mind.

Because of all this, present day society's condition is unfavourable - bleak. All around the west these things are quite common, as well as in the big metropolitan cities of the east. But Baba's teaching leads in a different direction. In His above mandate from Caryacarya, Baba is very beautifully guiding us that our duty is to serve everybody - without any expectation of anything in return.

== POSSIBLE SCAM BY GS ==

Namaskar,

I have heard this news which I am writing below. If any reader has more information, please write.

Current GS Dada (Ranchi), Ac. Citsvarupananda Avt, recently collected a huge sum of money (25 - 30 lakhs of rupees) from various Wts and margiis as a loan.

GS Dada promised to return back the money many-fold to lenders. But now he is not willing to return any of the money back to margiis and WTs.

Rather, GS Dada is abusing and scolding those workers and margiis who ask for their money back.

Dada Citsvarupananda is trying to convince everyone that he lost that huge sum of money, i.e. 25 - 30 lakhs. Dadaji's claim is that he already lost all the money which he borrowed; all that loan money is gone.

So Citsvarupanandji is telling everyone that he cannot return the money to them; all those margiis and workers who lent him money have now lost their money. Dadaji says: Margiis & workers should console thus themselves that they donated to the organization. That is what Dadaji is telling everyone. He is also requesting everyone not to remind him of this matter because he cannot return the money since he lost it all.

Hearing this reply from Dada Citsvarupanandaji, WTs and margiis are frustrated and furious.

If any margii has come to know more about this incident please write.

Namaskar,
Nataraj

Note: HOW MUCH IS A LAKH

Most probably know that one lakh is equal to 100,000. So 25 - 30 lakhs is the equivalent of 2.5 - 3 million rupees. Thus GS Dada borrowed nearly 3 million rupees from margiis and workers; and now he is claiming that he lost all that money and people cannot get their money back.

Namaskar,

"I was most definitely astonished by the report about degrading activities going on in the name of RAWA at DMS:
All females aged 16-21 danced with their mid-section totally uncovered.

That means the entire region from just above their waist to just below their chest was totally bare.

And indeed there were so many issues of sensuality and pseudo-culture at the RAWA program led by Mrinal Pathak."

(quote 1)

"So today, certain organisers of cultural programs like Acintananda, who are giving the logic that the programs these days are in accordance with the standard in before 1990, are not being truthful with themselves. Because it is quite apparent what is going on these days and how it differs from the pre 1990 programs. It is quite obvious. And we are only left to question Acintananda’s role and integrity in all of this. Why is he allowing Mr Mrinal Pathak to continue to lead degrading cultural programs on our stage."
(quote 2)

It is very sad that such pseudo-cultural program was performed in our Ananda Marga DMS Rawa function.

It is more sad that such program was performed under the guidance of a monk of Ananda Marga.

It is more & more sad that GS or in-charge of GS did not overview such a degrading act.

It is more, more & more sad that such program was not stopped even by the members of top most board (like Purodha Board) of the mission, during performance itself after coming into knowledge of vulgarity of the
program.

If action was not taken against the program in-charge Dada (Acintanandaji) then it is very very sad news of the organisation.

16 Points: The How's & Why's of Point #1

Baba

==  16 POINTS: THE HOW'S AND WHY'S OF POINT #1 ==

Namaskar,
In this cycle of creation known as brahmacakra or srsti cakra, we are fortunate that we have been given the upper-most place: Human life. As we know, human life is completely unique. Only those whom Parama Purusa blesses are granted human existence. Even the devatas are always trying and longing to get human life, because without getting a human framework - without achieving a human body - one cannot do sadhana.

MIND-BODY CONNECTION

Of course, it is the mind which does sadhana; yet the mind is situated within the body. Hence there is a deep link between the two. If the body is uncomfortable, sick, or plagued by some type of disease, then the mind cannot function properly. Because the mind needs the support of a healthy body in order to think or concentrate in a pointed manner. Thus for proper sadhana a healthy body is an absolute necessity.

That is why in yoga, the first step is to keep the body pure and fit. And as we know, in our Ananda Marga there are numerous teachings & guidelines that are directly related with the upkeep, maintenance, and purification of the
physical body - as this is integral to our movement on the path.

Baba says, "Keep the body neat and clean like a temple." (Caryacarya-2, '87 Edn, p.7)

Baba says, "The physical body should be sanctified...by various physical practices that affect the nerve fibres of the body; because through the nerve fibres, through the afferent and efferent nerves, the first phase of realization comes." (Yoga Psychology, '98 Edn, p.170)

EVERYTHING DONE TO REACH THE GOAL

And, in Ananda Marga, everything is done to reach the Goal: To come closer to Parama Purusa.  All the practices of AM aim to reduce the radius between the jiiva and the Cosmic Nucleus: Baba. That is why from dawn to dusk &
from birth to death, all our activities and works - whether small or big, mundane or spiritual, individual or collective - everything is done to come closer to God: Parama Purusa. And this entire process, or collection of efforts, is a type
of sadhana.

And to improve that sadhana, or movement of life, it demands that we become intimately familiar about every aspect of Baba's teachings. And while we are all aware about Sixteen Points, even then there may be some inner
aspects to ponder further.

POINT #1 OF SIXTEEN POINTS

Here following then are a few thoughts regarding this first point of 16 Points. I hope other sadhakas will also send in their experiences and insights about this.

"After urination wash the urinary organ with water."

Generally speaking, all margiis are certainly aware about this point. Even then there may be a few aspects of this practice which are new for some people. Because there are some lesser known health & hygiene facts associated
with the practice of this first point of 16 Points. So some sincere practitioners may not be fully aware.

The whole purpose behind this initial guideline of Sixteen Points is to clear all the excess urine from the urinary tract. And to achieve this fully, one must pour plenty of cold water on the entire genital area. Then the bladder and the entire urinary tract will contract thus releasing all the urine from the system.

To produce this desired effect, one can pour as much as 1 full liter or more of cold water on the urinary organ and pubic region at the time of urination. The entire genital area should be properly covered with water & hence cooled. That will certainly release any remaining urine from the body, even if one does not have the urge to go anymore.

Think of it this way: Most of the time people do not feel the need to urinate before getting into the swimming pool, yet once they submerge themselves in the water then quickly the desire comes to urinate. This is due to being immersed in cool water. That is why smart people will always use water before going in the pool and clear the bladder fully, then the desire will not arise once in the pool.

The key concept then is that cold water will draw the remaining urine from the body. Just as being in the swimming
pool stimulates the further flow of urine, the same effect is done by pouring a liter or more of water when urinating. By this technique one is sure to release all the urine from the body.

SOME GET LAZY

Unfortunately some, consciously or unconsciously, have gotten habituated to "following" point #1 of Sixteen Points in  a ritualistic manner. They just haphazardly put a few drops of water on the urinary organ after urination - and finish. It is as if they just took a dropper bottle or an eye-drop dispenser and relased 1 or 2 tine drops. This minuscule amount of water is never going to produce the desired effect. So this type of half-hearted approach does
not give any real benefit. It is just a ritualistic show that has no real practical value. This approach has nothing to do with following point #1 of 16 Points.

To follow this mandate properly, one must use a sufficient quantity of cold water: That means 1 liter over the entire pubic region.

 MANY BENEFITS ARE THERE

By  this particular use of water after urination, the body is properly maintained. The cooling effect of the water and consequent re-heating by the body gives many long-term benefits and prevents diseases related with that area of the body.

(A) Enhanced Circulation: By pouring cold water then the blood quickly rushes from that area and new oxygenated blood from the heart and lungs comes delivering vital nutrients. This exchange of blood brings health to the region.

(B) Bladder Stones: When excess urine remains in the bladder then there is the possibility for that to crystallize and form stones that can completely block the urinary tract. By pouring sufficient cold water after urination, then all the urine is released from the body and there is no possibly for the formation of bladder stones.

(C) Incontinence: The valve associated with urination is voluntary. When the brain gives the order then the valve will either hold or release the urine. But when the muscles around that valve weaken, then the valve is unable to properly control the flow of urine. In that state, a person suffers from constant dripping and incontinence. By pouring water regularly after the time of urination, then oxygenated blood will properly maintain and strengthen those muscles, thereby preventing this disease.

(D) Mind Reaches to Higher Cakras: By using cold water regularly, the nerves and nerve fibers related with that cakra are strengthend and the mind can reach up to higher cakras.

(E) Prostate Glands and Testes: They get revitalised by the use of cold water.  This prevents all kinds of serious diseases like  cancer from forming in that area.

Anyone already suffering from any of the aforementioned problems should do cold water treatments regularly to recondition and rehabilitate the nerves, muscles and organs of that area.

Sadhakas however will not suffer from those common diseases and ailments that adversely affect non-margiis at the age of 45 - 60+, whereby they cannot control the flow of urine from the body. In which case they experience
drops or a drip from the urinary organ throughout the day. But such health issues will not happen to sadhakas who sincerely observe point #1 of 16 points.

EXTENUATING CIRCUMSTANCES

So we should pursue and practice this first point as sincerely as possible by using a fully liter of water to cleanse the urinary organ and surrounding area. That said, there may be occasions when this is just not possible:

(A) Suppose one is travelling on a bus or train and the only water available is the few ounces in a small shacoa container, then one will have to adjust with that amount. There is no other way.

(B) Suppose one is in Ananda Nagar in the summer time when there is a dearth of water. In that heat when one is already drinking a lot, and consequently urinating frequently, then using full liter of water to clean is not possible nor practical.

(C) Suppose one lives or is posted in a desert region like in Africa, Arizona (USA), Saudi Arabia, or Rajasthan (India); then there is going to be a shortage of water and using an entire liter after urinating will not be possible. One cannot sacrifice drinking water for the sake of cleaning after urination. Rather one will have to adjust with the smallest amount of water.

Our overall aim should be to cleanse properly and thoroughly using a full liter of water after urination. But as noted, in certain conditions this may not be possible so an adjustment will have to be made. And when one is again in an area or situation where water is more freely available and plentiful, then one should again use the full and proper amount.

MAKE IT A HABIT

Generally, people are somewhat particular about cleaning their backside, but not their front side. By making
this practice of using a full liter after urination an ingrained habit then that will bring so many health and psychic benefits.

The best way to make it a habit is to fortify oneself with proper logic and reasoning. For instance, if one knows that dancing kaoshikii and tandava regularly will prevent Alzheimer's disease, then one will be more inclined to practice those dances. And if one is not aware of this point then they may not do those dances regularly.

Similarly, by educating oneself of the benefits of using a sufficient amount of cold water at the time of urination, then they will be more apt to make this a proper habit in life.

And many other benefits will come from properly following this initial guideline. The key factor for deriving all these benefits is to apply an ample amount of cold water on the entire genital region during & after the time of
urination. Putting one or two drops on the organ will not do; rather that will be one superficial display only.

ALL THE REALMS OF LIFE

The culminating idea is that our practice of Sixteen Points then is related with the development of the human structure and human personality in all the realms - thus transforming our entire existence. So it is nothing but
His divine grace that we have access to these eternal and dharmic guidelines.

Baba says, "Human existence is trifarious. A sadhaka has got his spiritual body, his psychic body and his quinquelemental body-- this physical structure--hands, legs, ears, nose, etc. When the flow is for the Supreme
Desideratum, there must be an adjustment amongst these three flows of human spirit, human mind, and human entity. There must be parallelism between spiritual flow and the psychic, and there must be parallelism between
psychic wave and the entitative wave. For progress in entitative flow, one is to lead a pure life, a moralistic life, a life based on moral principles...Follow a strict code of morality. Live a pure life, a neat and clean life. Be strict in 16 Points. What will happen? Your entitative flow will get purified and will be in parallelism with your psychic wave." (Baba in Taiwan, p.44)

[Note: This is the second letter of this series; a link to the first letter is below - Eds.]

Namaskar,

"Trainer Didi [Bangalore] keeps 50% of all donations for herself and sends those funds back to her laokika family in her village. That is the sad reality. One more thing that need be mentioned here is that this Wt Trainer Didi is herself the daughter of a well-known margii family. That margii family resides in one village. The local villagers know that the family is accumulating big money from the Wt daughter. So those villagers think that being a Wt in Ananda Marga means having a high-paying job and getting a lucrative salary...The didi in the above report is Ananda Madhurima Acarya. She is the Trainer Didi in Bangalore who sends so much organizational money to her laokik family."

ABOUT TRAINER DIDI'S FAMILY

Yes, I am aware about WT Trainer Didi Ananda Madhurima and I know her family. Trainer Didi's laokik father is Ac Dharmanathji of Viddu Pur (Vaishali district) in the state of Bihar, India. Ac Dharmanathji lived there and raised his family in that village. So that is Trainer Didi's laokik home.

I actually went there to see for myself as I live nearby.

DIDIJI: BETRAYING THE FAITH OF MARGIIS

The circumstances are that, for some time now, Trainer Didi has been sending half of all her collected donations to her laokik family - and still this is going on. Thus the margiis generously donate thinking that they are helping build a model institution for training new candidates for becoming wholetime workers, yet the Trainer Didi is pocketing the bulk of those funds and sending huge monies to her laokik family.

VILLAGERS THINK AVADHUTIKAS RECEIVE A BIG SALARY

Actually this is not a secret: Everyone in the village of Viddu Pur knows about this. Furthermore, those villagers of Viddu Pur naively think that avadhutikas in Ananda Marga receive a huge salary and that is why this family has become rich. Those villagers do not know that Didi is going against the ethic of wholetimer life.

So all the non-margii families of Viddu Pur understand well that the family is wealthy because their daughter (i.e. Trainer Didi) sends money regularly to the family. Indeed the non-margii villagers praise the family how their daughter became the bread-winner (big money earner) for the entire family.

When I went there I saw first-hand how some of those non-margiis are now trying to get their own daughters to also become Wts so they too can receive significant funds. They see first-hand that this is a lucrative business. They think that Ananda Marga avadutikas are well-paid. They do not know that this Didi is dishonest and stealing from the organisation.

Rather those non-margii villagers think that Ananda Marga is a grand corporation and that that family's daughter receives a good salary. In turn, their daughter send big money to their laokik family. By this way that village family was able to construct a totally new house. Seeing this, naturally all of those non-margii villagers are in awe and a few of them are keen to have their own sons and daughters also become Wts and receive a good salary.

SUMMARY

All in all, this entire situation is shameful. There is no other word for it. Trainer Didi is exploiting the sentiments and generosity of margiis and sympathizers who steadfastly give donations to the WT training centre in Bangalore.

Namaskar,
Vinod Singh

Note 1: BY THE WAY...

...ABOUT DMS RAWA PROGRAMS

By the way, I have been following along the discussion about the RAWA program at DMS where mature girls are dancing in front of everyone with naked bellies etc. Here I wish to add that similar issues are happening with the B group RAWA programs. Unfortunately all the groups are doing this type of poor display.

PRABHAT SAMGIITA

"Ka'lo jetha'y a'loy meshe, sa't sa'gar pa're..." (1867)

Purport:

Baba, after crossing the seven oceans there is a land where the blackness and effulgence meet: the world of immortality, i.e. satyaloka. O' my Dearmost, by Your grace I will get You there - at that effulgent tangential point. [1]

Baba, Your and my intimate closeness has been going on since eternity. It is beyond the relative factors of time, space, and person. Baba, our relation knows no limitations. In the beginning we were one; during my
entire movement through saincara and pratisaincara our unifying link has remained. Baba, today I feel Your love in my heart; in the past also I felt that love; and by Your grace in the future this love will also remain. Baba, You
alone are my eternal Companion. Everything else in this mobile universe comes and goes. Under the ignorance of avidya maya I foolishly depend on worldly things-  thinking those things will be with me up to eternity. Baba, by Your grace when awareness comes, then I understand that everything in this expressed world is ephemeral, except You - Parama Purusa. Baba, even the vast, boundless ocean of avidya maya cannot create obstacles in our relation. Baba, between You and me there is a strong attraction. You are pulling me with Your infinite love. Whatever obstacles come along the way will be smashed. Our love will go on and on and I will become one with You, by Your grace.

Baba, in the past I misunderstood everything and I got captivated by my blind attachments. I temporarily lost the path of divinity and got caught in the net of avidya maya. That was my darkest hour. But now, by Your grace, I realise that I was Yours then and that still today I am Yours. So many lifetimes have passed and by Your grace I remain under Your shelter. Today, I keep Your sweet memory in my heart. My each and every thing is for
You. Baba, by saturating me in Your love, make me Yours. Sometimes my mind gets attracted by the worldly colours, and I get attached with those transient things. Baba, please shower Your causeless grace. Please love me
so much that Your love dominates my entire existence; then, by Your grace, I will not get attracted by anything else. Baba, please colour me by spreading the love of Your heart - Your divine love. O' my Dearmost, please reside
eternally in my heart as my most loving One.

END NOTES FOR PRABHAT SAMGIITA #1867:

[1] Ka'lo...a'loktiire:
These are the opening and closing Bengali words of the first paragraph of the above song (#1867). This entire first stanza carries a deep philosophical meaning and is characterized by this below explanation and quotes.

The basic idea is that beyond the multifarious expressions of this mundane existence there is a heavenly abode. By the path of sadhana one can cross the darkness of the unit mind and reach up to that divine threshold - the
abode of Parama Purusa. Baba, being the Taraka Brahma remains eternally in that divine stance.

These following quotes lead in that direction and provide insight into the deeply philosophical meaning of the first stanza of the above Prabhat Samgiita.

Baba says, "Satyaloka or the Abode of Truth is the ultimate state, of the highest state of tranquillity (supramental state of witness-ship beyond the scope-of the mind). In philosophical language it is called Brahmaloka or the abode of Brahma." (Ananda Marga Ideology and Way of Life - 5, This World and the Next)

Baba says, "And when the sa'dhakas transcend the illusory bondage of their buddhitattva -- existential I -- and race towards the ultimate reality unhindered by any reflection on the mental plate, their intellects and indeed their whole identities merge in Consciousness in its pure form. That unreflected A'tman is alone called the pure Nirgun'a. This state is the unchallengeable position in satyaloka this state is Consciousness itself." (Ananda Marga Ideology and Way of Life - 5, This World and the Next)

Baba says, "In this sadhana of stabilising the citta the meaning of progress is to gradually cleanse every kos'a of its impurities. When ka'mamaya kos'a is stabilized, the citta will follow the dictates of the manomaya kos'a and will not be swayed by the lower propensities, by sensual proclivities. Then again, when manomaya kos'a becomes tranquil the citta will be free from the influence of kamamaya kos'a. It will then merge its own entity in the atima'nasa kos'a the supramental mind. In other words, it will exhaust the remaining sam'ska'ras. It cannot perform any original action (pratyayamu'laka) without citta-suddhi, (mental purification) because these non-original actions keep the lower kos'as active. Thus one must continue with sa'dhana' ceaselessly with a view to gradually establishing harmony and equilibrium in the kos'as one after another. The moment the indistinct sensibility of the hiran'maya kos'a (subtle causal mind) is free of the least vestige of impurity, the sa'dhaka shines with the dazzling radiance of the Satyaloka. That is an auspicious moment for a sa'dhaka as it is unification between A'tman and Parama´tman." (Ananda Marga Ideology and Way of Life - 5, This World and the Next)

Baba says, "The perfect sa'dhana' is the sustained effort to completely identify every kos'a with the inner self, thus the more sa'dhakas progress on the path of sa'dhana', the more their cakras and propensities (vrttis) are gradually controlled by the higher and higher kos'as. But the sa'dhakas must not stop here. At the final stage of their sa'dhana' even the stance of a'jina cakra, even their entire mind entity has to be taken to a higher state of existence, the Brahmaloka, and merged in the Purus'a Bha'va or Cognitive Bearing. It is in the Sahasra'ra Cakra (pineal plexus) that sa'dhakas establish themselves in the true blissful state and transcend the bondages of pleasure and pain. That state is the ultimate state of attainment for microcosms, it is the original stance of Brahma. There exists neither you nor He, the two become One. It is by means of sa'dhana' that this supreme rank is attainable. So you see, the destiny of human beings is in their own hands. You are certainly capable of controlling yourself. Here yourself means your propensities the demons within you." (Ananda Marga Ideology and Way of Life - 5, This World and the Next)

== Re: DMS NEWS: UNCULTURED DANCE IN CULTURAL PROGRAM ==

(Note: This is the sixth letter on this thread. Please find links to the five earlier letters below. - Eds)

To Acintanandaji
and those others who supported this issue to promote female adult dancing in our RAWA programs at DMS.

Namaskar,

I have been closely watching this Rawa discussion...

Dada Acintanandji spoke:

“Mrinal Pathakji is establishing Ananda Marga bhagavad dharma through these cultural programs. His work is unparalleled. He is a true dharmika. With Rawa, dance dharma will be established gradually. Everyone should follow in his footsteps.”

Brother Divyam'shu replied:

The fact is that Mr Pathak’s dance programs are strongly influenced by Bollywood sensuality.

My further reply to Acintanandji:

Dadaji, think about the recent cultural program in AM. Undoubtedly you have seen or heard about the program at DMS wherein mature 16 - 21 year old females and males danced together. Then honestly ask yourself if seeing that dance – you can just question yourself, no need to tell anybody – brought your mind towards Parama Purusa or somewhere else.

If it was going somewhere else, then do not impose or support such programs. Otherwise you are merely befooling yourself and hurting the Marga.

Not only that, even if your mind was ensconced in Parama Purusa by His grace, even then you should come forward and join those who oppose such so-called cultural programs. Because right now many are complaining about these so-called cultural programs and how they do not lead the mind towards divinity, but rather push the mind in the other direction. Ok, perhaps you are a truly superior sadhana and you were able to keep the mind pointed on the divine; even then, have a heart for those of us who struggle with this. Give us some sympathetic support.

Namaskar,
Nirainjan

Divine Guideline in Dhyana Process

Baba

"Anek shun'iya' anek bhaviya', toma'kei bha'lobesechi..." (PS 1041)

Purport:

Baba, Your tales are infinite. From the mouths of devotees I have heard endless heart-touching stories how You have showered Your boundless love and grace.  Baba, as soon as I heard all those things about You, I began to
contemplate Your grandeur and glory, over and over again. By that way I realised that You are inseparably linked with my heart, mind, and my entire existence. Baba, I have fallen in love with You; I can't live without You. You are my most intimate One. Baba, in order to find You I have searched in each and every town and village, by the rivers and the oceans, in the hills and the valleys, in the mountains and the caves. I have searched You in the sky and earth - everywhere. Baba, by Your grace I have discovered that You are that priceless jewel sitting in my heart.

Baba, I do not have any explanation why I have fallen in love with You. All I can say is that it is solely Your grace. Love knows no logic or reasoning. All I can tell is that You graciously pulled me towards You and by that way I have fallen in love with You. It is Your grace. O' my Dearmost, I do not love You in order to get mukti [1]. I love You because You have tenderly brought me close to You. Even then I am not an A-grade sadhaka. I do sadhana and by that way I receive Your bliss. I think that is the reason why I love You. Baba, I love You to get a'nandam. This is the aim of my life: To love You so that I may be bathed in Your bliss. This truth I understand.

O Lord, I do not have parabhakti-- highest devotion. But keeping in mind that parabhakti is the greatest quality, I will go on doing Your work and serving You according to whatever strength I have. I will expend every ounce of energy to satisfy You. Baba, by Your grace, I understand that, 'I should love You to give You bliss -  not for my own bliss' [2]. This is the culmination of all I have learned, by Your grace.

Baba, by Your grace I have fallen in love with You. My sole desire is to serve You and please You, O my Dearmost...

END NOTES FOR PRABHAT SAMGIITA #1041:

[1] Mukti: (Literally means 'liberation'). Just as the sadhaka in the above song is not doing sadhana to get mukti, similarly, in the below discourse Baba is guiding us that one should not do sadhana to get mukti.

Baba says, "While surrendering oneself at the altar of the Supreme, what is one to do? One must not ask for anything from Parama Purus'a. [For example,] for a bhakta, mukti has got no importance. A bhakta wants Parama
Purus'a, and nothing from Him, not even mukti. Suppose Parama Purus'a says, 'O devotee, what do you want?' - his reply is, 'I want You'. One must not say, 'I want mukti', because suppose one says, 'I want mukti', one may get mukti, but one may not get Parama Purus´a. Which is more valuable - mukti or Parama Purus'a? Parama Purus'a!" (Subhasita Samgraha - 24, 'Bhakti, Mukti and Parama Purusa')

So this is a good teaching: A sadhaka should not ask for anything, not even mukti. Even then some do sadhana for mukti; but in the above Prabhat Samgiita as well as in the above quotation, Baba is instructing us that one
should not do sadhana to get mukti. One should do sadhana so that one may come close and serve and please Him.

[2] A'nanda deva'r l'a'gi: (Literally means 'to give bliss'). The last stanza of this song describes the stance of ragatmika devotion where one does sadhana to please Him-- to give Him bliss. That is the culmination of all devotion.

Baba says, "The ra'ga'tmika' bhakta says: 'I love Parama Purus'a because I want to give Him a'nandam. I don't care whether or not I get a'nandam. My only desire is to give Him joy through my love. I shall perform, even at the cost of profuse sweat and difficulty, only those noble deeds which will give Him joy. I am ready to undergo any amount of pain and suffering to give Him joy." (Namami Krsnasundaram: Disc 25)

== DIVINE GUIDELINE IN DHYANA PROCESS ==

Namaskar,

Baba says, "In the fourth phase the relationship is just like a piece of paper; the unit consciousness of the spiritual aspirant is one side of the paper and the Cosmic Consciousness of Parama Purus'a is the other side of the paper; they are inseparable, one cannot be removed from the other. By His effulgence the unit existence, the existential faculty of the aspirant gets lighted, gets illumined. With His illumination the aspirant is to move forward and enjoy the Supreme Beatitude and the Supreme Composure." (Subhasita Samgraha - 18, p.13)

Here Baba is indirectly guiding about the last part of the practice of dhyana - which every sincere sadhaka practices regularly.

Namaskar,
Parama'tman

== DAUGHTER'S LUCRATIVE JOB ==

Namaskar,
Here is news and a very important report about one margii's daughter who joined Wt life and became an avadhutika. In her current posting, she has been collecting a lot of money and sending it to her laokik family on a regular basis. Here are some of the details surrounding this case.

SPECIFIC DETAILS OF THE CASE

1. This Didi is currently posted as the trainer at the Didis WT Training Center (TC) in Bangalore, and per the system she is giving classes and guiding the trainees.

2. At the same time, as remarked in the introduction above, it cannot be overlooked that the current trainer has other inclinations as well.

3. Actually this Didi wants to keep her post as trainer didi (TD) as she understands well its inherent value - she recognises that it is an important post. She receives financial donations from around the globe to support her work with the trainees. So Didi teaches the trainees sincerely in order to keep the donations rolling in.

4. In particular, margiis from all over donate money allotted for food, clothing, medicine, expenses, maintenance and more for the WT Training Centre (TC). Those margiis want to sincerely support the Didis WT training center in Bangalore in order to create the highest standard of wt didis. So margii supporters generously donate to the institution with the idea that the trainees should be well-fed, healthy, and cared for; plus those margiis donate with the idea that all monies are going to improve the facilities by enhancing the library, improving educational opportunities, making a sentient kitchen, and ensuring that the centre is proper in all respects. With this feeling in mind, margiis generously support the Bangalore TC.

5. Thus Didiji receives a "healthy" sum of contributions on a regular basis from around the globe - all of which is designated for the use and upkeep of the Ananda Marga Didis WT Training Centre.

6. But that is not going on - that is the tragedy. All those monies are not going towards improving the integrity and standard of the WT TC. Rather, Trainer Didi keeps 50% of all donations for herself and sends those funds back to her laokika family in her village. That is the sad reality.

7. One more thing that need be mentioned here is that this Wt Trainer Didi is herself the daughter of a well-known margii family. That margii family resides in one village. The local villagers know that the family is accumulating big money from the Wt daughter. So those villagers think that being a Wt in Ananda Marga means having a high-paying job and getting a lucrative salary.

8. And there is more to be known about this episode which I hope others will report.

OUR DUTY

Now we have to watch out and not donate until we see the money is being used in the right way. We should see first-hand with our own eyes. Our duty is to spread this type of news and inform donors. Such things should not fester in the dark. Rather, these wrongdoings need to be highlighted and stopped.

Plus donors should not give funds in the future without getting an exact report of how the money is spent. Otherwise, money will get mishandled and used in the wrong way. We will have a repeat situation. It is like feeding the devil.

Baba has directed us in the chapter on Tapah in "A Guide to Human Conduct" that if donated money is not utilized for a just and worthy cause, then the donor is also responsible for that misdeed(s). Thus, always be alert that your donation does not go in the wrong hand.

MORE INFORMATION

Do you know more about this incident with this Trainer Didi in Bangalore or other situations where money is not properly utilized by our workers?

Here it should be understood that what is being reported here is just the tip of the iceberg. This is not an isolated incident with one Didi, but rather a systemic, pervasive problem across the board with so many wholetime workers.
I am hearing from people who know that there are countless cases and others are bringing these to the fore.

Namaskar,
Ram Kumar

Note 1: TRAINER DIDI GOING AGAINST HER DHARMA

By her actions of siphoning organisational funds to her laokik family, trainer didi is breaking all kinds of dharmic codes.

Baba says, "No relationship should exist with worldly family." (Point #9, "32 Rules for Avadhutikas")

So when Baba's directive is that no worker should have contact with their worldly family then it is 100% evident that it is wrong for Didi to be communicating with her laokik family and diverting funds to them. It goes without saying that taking organisational money for such purposes amounts to cheating and theft.

Baba furthermore guides us that Wts are only to look after the bigger, universal family. They are not to engage in the affairs of their mundane worldly family.

Baba says, "What is the small family? It includes one’s parents, sisters, brothers, spouse, and other relatives such as aunts, uncles and so on...This is one’s small family. And the big family is the whole universe and its suffering humanity...the sannyásin has only one family – the big family – so there is no question of adjustment there." (Ananda Vacanamrtam - 30, Self-Realization and Service to Humanity)

Here again, by involving in the affairs of her small family, Didi is going against her code of being a wholetime worker of the Marga. So from start to finish the whole situation is very bad. Anyone indulging in this manner is a fake sannyasin - a dyed jackal - a wolf in a sheep's dress. Such a person is not a true sannyasin.

Note 2: OUR WTS ARE NOT PAID

Just in case anyone is at all confused, our Wts are not paid a salary - that is not the system in Ananda Marga. So no new or naive margii should think that our workers are like corporate employees who receive paychecks, bonuses and big salaries. That is not our way.

Note 3: WHO IS THAT DIDI

The didi in the above report is Ananda Madhurima Acarya. She is the Trainer Didi in Bangalore who sends so much organizational money to her laokik family.

PRABHAT SAMGIITA

"Ke go tumi a'ji bhare nile sa'ji na' baliya' mor phulavane..."  (PS 2111)

Purport:

O' Divine Entity, who are You who has come today in the flower garden of my mind & without my awareness filled up Your basket by plucking all my flowers. Which Divine Personality are You who has done like this. Baba, neither did I ask You to come, nor did I ask You to please sit - indeed I could not receive You properly in the canopy of my mental flower garden.

O' Baba, Your grace is unimaginable. When I call You, then You do not come; and now without any invitation You have blessed me by coming - it is Your grace. And You are silently looking at everything in the flower garden of my mind and You are not telling anything - just You smiled and got involved in plucking the flowers. Baba, Your liila is unique.

O Parama Purusa, I do not have the capacity to understand what type of liila' You are playing. Why do You go on playing with my mind. In my mental garden, without my awareness, You go on swaying Your love. And You go on creating vibrations there without my awareness. And You fill my mind with Your divine attraction and love.

Baba, O' the Divine Entity, You have graced me by coming...
