Baba
Namaskar,
Some sadhakas and people who have experienced Baba physically can forget that Baba intends us to experience His Love, and to truly serve His creation in whatever way we are able. Why does this happen? Somehow those people must have decided that to be happy in this life one needs material things; they think it is worth pursuing this crude pleasure-seeking way of life.
Possibly they even fool themselves at first by thinking that Baba will be pleased if they get money and fame or success, or that it may even add prestige to His organisation. Giving in to such thinking goes away from the ideology Baba has given and the example He gave us in His physical lifetime. Such persons drift off into a false dream world.
We have probably all seen this happening to someone or some people we know and love. How to wake them up is a big problem, because the obsession towards material satisfaction is so strong. They don't want to come out of it - this has been my experience as I see them fall in this way.
The idea of taking shelter in Parama Purusa is the main idea - of actively seeking the shelter of His blissful lap. This very point is the thing that is missing in the lives of so many people nowadays. In their haste to reject religious dogmas, so many have also thrown out the morality and ethics which lead to a more refined mind and more subtle understanding.
Instead, they decide to just enjoy as much pleasure as possible, and pursue the possibility of riches. They neglect the deepest part of life. They fail to realise the loving nature of Parama Purusa as a shelter to all, as our loving Spiritual Father. They allow themselves to fall into a very cold and scary place which only drives them to act out of fear and hatred. Their small vision traps them in what must be a very helpless state, when the going gets tough.
Only when some big shock hits them do people start to wonder what it is they have been missing. I heard that a world War 1 soldier, who saw the horrors of war, said that noone can remain an atheist in a bunker, even the most hardened men would cry out to be saved from the hell they were living in.
PARAMA PURUSA ALONE IS THE GOAL
Unless the concept of Parama Purusa as the ultimate goal of our lives can be grasped by ordinary people, in the ways Baba has described and emphasised, the deep changes we all hope for in this world cannot fully express. We are waiting and longing for this God Centred life to become a reality.
I wonder how many who are full of praise and adulation for Steve jobs will pause to think that this young man of 56 years with a family, had to die so young. Jobs had full scope to enjoy the pleasures of the worldly existence with his money and success in his endeavours for the work he did. But did he give time to develop his inner life at all? And if not, was it all worth the energy he spent pursuing his dream, that was ultimately so fleeting. How much deep tranquility and sense of realisation did he get. Did he realise that humans and the connection to all the living beings have come from somewhere?
If he did not get this realisation, he will become one with matter; it will take millions of years to come back and get human life etc
Did he at all ponder who or what could be the cause of it all? The Creator of this creation must surely be very Great and benevolent and full of love. Was there time in his busy life to think deeply about why do we come to this earth? For what purpose?
Did he find the deep connection in his life with others and his close ones. Could he spend time daily experiencing his own love and how to appreciate this gift, so subtle, that makes the life so sweet and meaningful. And could he come close to that Eternal Entity who sustains not only him, but this whole world of diverse creatures and plants and inanimate things that contribute to the beauty that surrounds us. Did he take the time to see this beauty and appreciate its subtlety.
I hope so. Certainly, when a person gets obsessed by some worldly thing, it seems hard to get the mind to shift off the track it is on. This is indeed a fact. If he did not do all these things, he will become one will matter and take millions of years to come back and get human life. That is the stark reality.
Let us all consider and ask ourselves, how much time each day to we devote toward our spiritual goal, pleasing Baba and realising Him.
in His Satya
