Subject: Cowards Can't Do Good
From: JULES
Baba
"Ba'dha' eseche bheunegeche toma'r...hoyeche..." (PS 2647)
Purport:
Baba, by Your grace all those obstacles which have come on the path are
pulverized. They got completely destroyed. Whatever horrifying things were
there-- fog, dilemma, confusion-- that all disappeared into thin air. This
happened only because of Your divine grace.
In its ghastly attempt, the bad days-- the foggy weather-- wanted to
swallow everything in its ghastly attempt. And it wanted to submerge
everything into cimmerian darkness. However the demons' dance, and the
days of hellish creatures and their kingdom-- these are gone forever by
Your grace, by Your karuna.
O' Parama Purusa, the Charioteer of the chariot of effulgence, You have
come. All the confusion, illusion, and dilemmas have been wiped away from
everyone's mind. It is Your grace.
Baba, due to Your holy advent the bondage of ignorance and staticity and
the serpentine noose of maya have been destroyed. With the presence of Your
august advent, Your arrival, all the sins have gotten destroyed. Now
everything is saturated with divine effulgence.
Baba, You are ever-gracious...
== COWARDS CAN'T DO GOOD ==
Namaskar,
True bhaktas come onto this earth to glorify the name of God and propagate
the teachings of Parama Purusa - not for their own name and fame nor to
highlight themselves.
Lately, one Dada has broken this tenet on the grand stage.
In front of millions of readers he has glorified himself and
disrespected Baba. That Dada may think that he has gained huge
self-prestige by getting his own name in print, but what he may not
realise is that in front of millions he has actually exposed his own
lowly standing.
Instead of being viewed as a great bhakta, everyone will easily see how
his relationship with Baba is basically nil.
Such is the ironic fate that meets those who aim for self-glorification.
Baba says, "O human beings... Do not try to do anything for your petty
personal and group interests, because whatever little you want to do with your
limited outlook cannot last. The cruel touch of time will annihilate
your aspirations into an oblivion that you cannot comprehend." (PNS-1, p.4)
Let's now find out a bit more about this case.
TRUE FOLLOWERS ALWAYS SHOW RESPECT
In all spheres of life people give maximum respect and high regard to
those whom they revere.
For example when the pope or Dalai Lama are introduced then words like
"his high holiness", "revered one", and "divine being" are used. Their
followers will always do like this.
The devotees of Ramakrsna, Yogananda and Vivekananda always use Swamiji
or Thakur and then they close with Paramahansa. These titles show great
respect and reverence.
Likewise the laukik name of Nimimmayi Pundit is not so impressive
sounding that is why followers refer to their saint as Caetanya Mahaprabhu.
Even when worldly leaders are introduced, then always proper due
reference is given. They are known as "Mr President", or "Mrs Prime
Minister", or whatever their respected title may be.
Hence it is quite common to publicly revere leaders - whether they be a
leader of a church, state, or mission.
By this way, the rest of the world knows that that person is a respected
one. People may or may not be catholic, but because those catholics
revere the pope up to the sky, then everyone on this earth feels that
the pope is someone of great stature and import. Same is the case with
the Dalai Lama, Ramakrsna, and the leaders of various countries.
In contrast, if their own followers do not give them respect on the
public stage, then the rest of the world will automatically think that
that so-called leader is not so great - rather he is just a second rate
individual, or worse than that.
Hence, it is extremely important for one to give great respect to those
whom they revere.
LOOK WHAT ONE DADA HAS DONE (Part 1)
Keeping all of the above in mind, take a look at what one Dadaji has done.
Firstly, this Dada often submits excerpts of Baba's pravacans to various
newspapers to print. In particular, such excerpts have appeared multiple
times in the Hindustan (Hindi) paper that is published in Patna, Bihar.
And each and every time, at the end of the article, the by-line reads,
"Shrii Anandamurti."
Yet we know that each and every person of normal standing in India is
Shrii. Everyone is given this title - it is common.
That is why in Ananda Marga we refer to Baba as Shrii Shrii
Anandamurtiji. Using Shrii twice and adding the suffix "ji" is our
standard practice as this demonstrates the deep regard we have for our
Sadguru. This is especially important to do in the public domain such as
in the newspaper. In private we may just say Baba, but on the public
stage then always we use Shrii Shrii Anandamurtiji, or even Revered
Shrii Shrii Anandamurtiji.
But this Dadaji merely submits the article as being written by, "Shrii
Anandamurti". This has occurred on not one, but multiple occasions.
MARGIIS COMPLAIN TO EDITOR - BUT DADAJI AT FAULT
Numerous margiis were horrified by what they saw and they immediately
used their cell phones to call the editor of the newspaper to complain.
But the editor replied, "When the person who has submitted the article
has written only one Shrii, then as an editor how can I change that to
two Shrii. The editor follows the format used by the person submitting
the article."
Hence it is clear that Dadaji alone is to blame for this severe
oversight - Dadaji alone is to blame. The tragedy is that he has done
this multiple times. At first margiis thought it was just a clerical
error, but when it happened repeatedly, that is when they called the
paper to complain. Yet all along it was Dada's fault. He was the one
behind the problem.
Tragically, this was not at isolated affair.
LOOK WHAT ONE DADA HAS DONE (Part 2)
Now take a look at another example of what this Dada has done.
In 28th Nov. 2008, on page 8, the Hindustan newspaper (Hindi) of Patna
printed one column by this same Dada.
The title of this essay is "Prabha'ta Samgiita ke bol". And in this
essay, Baba's names appears in two places and on each occasion Baba is
merely referred to as Anandamurti. There is not even a single Shrii. And
this has happened two times.
Here are the exact sentences:
1) "Anandamarga ke pravartaka A'nandamurti ne panc haja'r giiton kii
racana' kii."
2) "...A'nandamurti 8 bha'sa'on mein jaise Hindi, Samskrta, Bangala',
Angrejii, Urdu, Angika', Magahii, aur Maithilii mein Prabha'ta Samgiita
taiya'r kiya' hai."
So in both places, this Dadaji has merely referred to our Sadguru Baba
as Anandamurti - all done in newspaper for the whole world to read. And
this done in the land of India where giving high respect is commonly
done. So it is not at all radical to use Shrii Shrii.
But due to his cowardly nature or self-centeredness or low devotion, or most
probably due to all of these factors that Dadaji has written only "Anandamurti"
in his own article about Baba and Ananda Marga.
CLIMAX OF IT ALL!!!
In defense of Dada, some may say that Dada did this all in innocence.
But let us remember that we are talking about an avadhuta, someone well
aware of AM scripture and someone who has certainly read Caryacarya.
As a reminder here is what it says in Caryacarya.
Baba says, "The one formless, beginningless and infinite Parama Brahma
(Supreme Consciousness) is the only entity to be attained by living
beings - That alone is Jagat Guru (the Supreme preceptor), That alone
has revealed Brahmavidya (intuitional science) to us through the medium
of the name and form of [Shrii Shrii] Anandamurtijii. Unit beings must be made to
appreciate Its majesty." (CC-II, p.1, point 1A)
By the above passage, Baba Himself is commanding and guiding us to give
maximum respect and that we are to convey this sense of respect to
others as well.
So there is no excuse, being an avadhuta and having studied Caryacarya,
there is no logical or rational reason why Dadaji would refer to Baba
merely as Anandamurti.
But to top it off, when it came time to sign his own name to the
article, then Dadaji writes, "Aca'rya Divyacetana'nanda".
So he has used Acarya with his own name and given himself such a title,
but with our revered Baba he could not do the same.
Such is the way of this Dada.
By all this, the world is not going to respect Baba when they read the
article, and secondly, any margii who reads this article will certainly
feel that Dada Divyacetananda is arrogant and has little or no
devotional feeling.
JUST LIKE ONE STORY
A learned professor once had his father visit him him at the university. The father
was a simple man who still lived village life. So the professor, embarrassed
of his simple father, introduced him to his colleagues and students, and said,
'This is my servant." When in truth the man was his father.
When people are cowards they do not have the courage to stand in front
of others and proclaim what they know to be true.
Just as the above professor was ashamed of his father, likewise it seems
that Dadaji is too embarrassed or scared to refer to Baba as Shrii Shrii
Anandamurtiji. Otherwise what can be the reason why an avadhuta of AM
would fail to do such a thing.
REMINDER OF THE MEANING OF SHRII
As a reminder, here is Baba's teaching about the great import of the
word Shrii.
Baba says, "The Samskrta word Shrii means 'the most charming
personality'. The word 'shrii' is derived from sha + ra + uniis. 'Sha'
is the acoustic root of the mutative principle, and 'ra' is the acoustic
root of energy. With the help of these two things, 'sha' plus 'ra',
human beings are moving, dancing, speaking, and doing so many things.
Obviously they need 'sha' and 'ra' very much. The Supreme abode of
'shrii' is Parama Purus'a." (SS-12, p.4)
So the term Shrii has great significance and deep meaning. That is why
we always use Shrii twice when referring to Baba. It is not just some
small point.
But this Dada neglected the matter entirely.
DADAJI'S PRIDE
Due to his self-pride, Dadaji has the courage to refer to himself as
Acarya but he has no such mind or courage to refer to Baba as Shrii
Shrii Anandamurtiji.
Baba says, "One should not be proud of his post, position, beauty,
wealth, honour, or knowledge. All belong to the Divine Entity, Parama
Purus'a; nothing is mine." (AV-1, p.8)
Baba says, "A person boasts of learning, intellect and fortune. But
nothing is eternal. Therefore one who boasts of anything of this world is
a fool." (AV-1, p.7)
By the above quotes, the level of Dada's standard is quite clear.
BABA'S BLESSING
By His grace, on the eve of this Ananda Purnima celebration, may we all
recognise and realise the greatness of our Beloved Baba and always pay
Him maximum reverence in the public domain. There is no other way. Let
us not fall into any cowardly habit as Dadaji has done.
Baba says, "The one formless, beginningless and infinite Parama Brahma
(Supreme Consciousness) is the only entity to be attained by living
beings - That alone is Jagat Guru (the Supreme preceptor), That alone
has revealed Brahmavidya (intuitional science) to us through the medium
of the name and form of Anandamurtijii. Unit beings must be made to
appreciate Its majesty." (CC-II, p.1, point 1A)
Namaskar,
Yogendra
Note 1: ABOUT SUCH COWARDS
*********************************************
UNKNOWN FACT ABOUT WEALTH
Baba says, "In the subtle economic sense, the value of wealth is the real
wealth. Wealth, if not properly defined, may mean only riches. But the
value of wealth is to be measured in terms of its capacity to purchase
commodities. That is, the purchasing capacity of wealth is its real value.
This real value of wealth has not yet been properly understood in numerical
terms by economists." (Proutist Economics, p. 269)
*********************************************
About such cowardly people who dress up as avadhutas, Baba has said the following:
Mana na' ra'inga'ile ra'inga'ile yogi ka'par'a.
Saffron and red do not a yogi make
With mind undyed he remains a fake.
"Dye your mind with His colour. Those who have not done so cannot attain Him, for this very coloration is Prema or Divine Love... No external sign of Sa'dhuta' or virtue is necessary. Become sa'dhu within. Behind the external show of virtuousness of many so-called sa'dhus exists a pharisaic state of mind. Preserve the true dignity of the word, Sa'dhu."
"Mu'd'ha mu'ra'ye jata' v'ar'aye....
With shaven head or matted locks
And ashen body a Sadhu walks
With the swaggering gait of a well-fed buffalo.
And crude mind filled with thoughts mean and low."
"That is why I say that you must bring about a revolutionary change in the flow of your judgment and thought, and see how, after overcoming your fascination with external colour, your mind becomes tinged with the His glorious colour." (SS part 3)

Baba nam kevalam
Baba nam kevalam
Should we say Shrii Shrii Baba? Or maybe we should say Baba Baba instead of Baba.
ReplyDeleteWhat does Baba mean exactly in India? I think dad...
I pretty sure using Anandamurti as His name is a lot better than Baba.
Baba Nam Kevalam
Dear Anonymous,
ReplyDeleteIt is so unfortunate you could not understand the posting nor Baba's teachings on devotion.
The posting is about giving maximum respect to Baba in the public domain by using the name Shrii Shrii Anandamurtiji.
But in personal devotional life, such formal names are not needed. Using simply Baba allows us to come closer to Him, by His grace.
Please read Baba's below teaching.
"The root meaning of the term bábá is “the dearest one” or “the nearest one”. As He is the Supreme Father, the Parama Puruśa, He is Bábá of the entire creation; and because you are the created beings, you are His loving children, you are also His Bábá – because bábá means “nearest and dearest one”. As He is your only object of ideation, as His name is the only projection of your microcosmic entity, only thought-projection, only introversial projection – intro-cum-extroversial projection – so His name should be always with you – in your mind, in your tongue, in your vocal cord, everywhere. And I feel, and I also realize, and that is why I say, when His devotees, His children, sing Bábá nám kevalam, He also sings Bábá nám kevalam." (SS-12, 'Microcosm and Its Object of Ideation')
It is unfortunate Didi S. doesn't have a sense of humor. Especially when Baba means daddy in India and other countries.
ReplyDeleteIt is even more humorous when someone who really felt close to Shrii Shrii Anandamurti would only call him by His name Anandamurti. Shrii Shrii are for the brown nosers.
