Subject: Victory Day with Baba
Baba
"Ei vanaviithika'y pus'pama'ya'y nije ese dhara' dile a'ma'y..." P.S. 2108
Purport:
Baba, You have graced me and You have come in my mind-- in my mental
garden You have appeared. Baba, You have shown me the magical display of
flowers and You have allowed me to hold You.
Baba, whatever You have taught and whatever You have told, everything I
have kept in my mind, in my mental plate, by Your grace.
O' my dearmost, how can I forget that very special memorable day when I
saw You. I could tell that that Your whole heart was saturated with the
deep feeling of mineness and love towards me. With the mental flower and in
the cycle of the seasons and months, with the passage of time, that very
love is getting stronger & stronger, more serene and pure.
Baba, by Your grace I have got You in my heart. Up till now I was just
searching You externally-- moving here and there-- but I could not get You.
But now You have come in my heart, so I have everything. In the secret,
solitary, depths of my mind-- all my desires are getting satiated.
Baba, You have graced me and You have come directly into my heart. You have made my life meaningful...
VICTORY DAY WITH BABA
Namaskar,
October 17, 2010 marks the occasion of our Ananda Marga festival,
Vijay Dashamii. Here are some remembrances from that this great day.
As all margiis may be aware, Vijay Dashamii (Vijyaotsava) stands for the
permanent victory of dharma (righteous forces) over adharma (negative
powers). It is the grand celebration of final victory against the
immoralists-- where the demon Ravana faces his ultimate defeat. Hence it is
a day of great celebration for sadhakas.
In the life of spiritual aspirants, challenges and opposition will come at
every step. This is the mark of movement on the path of dharma. And the
step by step victory over negative opposition marks one's forward journey.
Here following is that unforgettable memory of Vijaya Dashamii in the
presence of Sadguru Baba.
Those days in 1990 I used to attend almost all important occasions when
Baba was giving His discourse, blessing, Varabhaya Mudra. And I can never
forget the auspicious occasion of Victory Day, Vijaya Dashamii 29 Sep 1990.
The whole General Darshan was organised in the jagrti hall because the Margii gathering was huge. You may know that on Sundays Baba used to give His discourses in the Baba's Quarter, Madhu Koraka, Tiljala. But when the
gathering was more than 1000 persons, then Baba used to give His discourses on the ground floor of the Jagrti.
That particular day, by His grace, so much devotional attraction was there.
All margiis were rushing towards the dais 4 hrs before the program began.
Many margii brothers and sisters occupied their seats in front. It was so
crowded that due to lack of space people were sitting on each other's
laps-- their minds glued to Baba, eyes fixed on Him.
On the physical sphere it was quite uncomfortable, but even so everyone was
feeling very blissful.
I was sitting in the second row. When I was thirsty then I thought for 1/2
hr and I did not like to go away because I had fear that I would lose my
seat in the front. So ultimately stayed right there. Because so much
enthusiasm, attraction, devotion had filled the air. The whole scene was
charged with His incomparable devotional waves. That was a completely
unique day. I cannot find any words to express the blissful feeling that
everyone was enjoying. Just it was pure ecstasy.
So on that day in 1990 Baba gave the discourse on the subject of Victory
Day. And in the conclusive section of discourse Baba issued His special
blessing. And here is this culminating part. I am citing it here below.
Secretly I recorded that very discourse. It is in 2 languages, Hindi and
Bangla. Thus far it has been printed in AV Hindi part 24 on page 149. So
I am translating as it is.
Baba says: "You have to build up society by your collective efforts. You
know when the weaver weaves the clothes then rats and termites engage in
trying to cut it. Then the weaver has to protect the clothes from rats and
termites. In the same way when you are building anything then without any
delay various types of "termites" and "rats" will try to destroy that. You
must be careful. Above all those who have a pious motive to build up
something, they ultimately get victory. But "rats" and "termites" do not
have a pure motive so ultimately getting destroyed is their fate. Just they
leave some dirty, ugly mark in the pages of history."
"By seeing those ugly, black marks, in future people think 'oh, it seems
this was attacked by termites and rats. Oh it appears that the termites and
rats which came to attack and destroy this, but instead those rats and
termites broke their teeth and got annihilated'.
"It is the universal law. So as you build up good things, be vigilant to
keep sharp eyes all around. Be sure to protect your work from "rats" and
"termites". "
Baba's divine discourse continues:
"In the past females were preparing mango jelly in summer. And to shoe
away the crows & to protect the mango jelly, one boy from the house was
always standing guard with large stick in his hand and sharp eyes watching
for those crows. Same way you should always be alert & vigilant to save
your work from termites and rats. Then work will be done..."
"Today again you take oath to build up the earth by your own individual
and collective efforts. We have come here to beautify this earth. We will
make it so and we will go on doing this our whole life. This will be our
main collective vow." - AV (Hindi) part 24, p.149.
Similarly in the early part of this 21st century, tamasik forces are all
around-- inside and out-- and by Baba's divine decree the force of light
gains permanent victory. This is Baba's special blessing on all sadhakas--
as well as on the entire collective.
Namaskar,
Anil
Baba says, "You know, in Sanskrit there are two similar words, jaya and
vijaya. Jaya means "victory", victory over the inimical force, but victory
of temporary nature. When the enemy is defeated, you become a jayii; but in
the next phase or in the next moment the enemy may again rise up, become
victorious -- you may be defeated. And what is vijaya? Vijaya means
"victory of a permanent nature when the enemy is completely destroyed". (V-6)
As all are aware, Vijay Dashamii (Victory Day) is an official holiday in
our Marga. Here following is Baba's description in Caryacarya how the day
is to be celebrated.
Baba says, ""Dashamii (Vijayotsava): Procession with music and tandava
dance, wearing colourful dress; then collective Iishvara Pranidhana and
Varn'a'ghyada'na, salutations and affectionate embraces etc, and
entertaining guests and visitors at one's residence ". (CC Part I, pp.44,
1995 Edn)
HOW WORKERS DEGENERATE
Baba says, "Pride causes downfall... Where there is the possibility of
downfall, the path may be good but it may not be safe. Karmiis, too, feel
proud when they think they have accomplished some work. Outwardly they may express that they have done nothing, but secretly they harbor desire in
their minds that newspapers may publish their names. A dexterous worker
falls prey to these weaknesses." (AV-5, p. 20)
