Baba
Namaskar,
This is a very interesting discussion.
All I can think is this: It is true - when arrogant or stubborn people do something wrong, they do not have the presence of mind to admit their mistake. Rather they go to great lengths to prove their wrong as being right. Such is their defective mentality.
Now we see the same thing happening with this below string of emails. Any rational margii will easily understand that Baba loves all, cares for all, and listens to all.
But one person is very stubborn because in his "thought of the day" message he has written that, "God only listens to those who listen to God." And still he is defending this silly view.
Yet, as we all know, Baba loves and cares for all - the virtuous and sinners. He loves all equally because He is Parama Purusa. That is His unique quality. If He were only to love the virtuous then He would not be Parama Purusa, but rather a human being.
The dogmatic religions like Islam state that God only loves the virtuous and He burns the sinners in hell-fire. So what Goenka Dada is doing is promoting crude, Islamic ideas in our Marga - nothing more.
Please excuse me for saying so, but such an emailer like Goenka Dada does not like to use his brain and admit his mistake. Rather he is anxious to do anything and everything to maintain his defective position in the name of keeping his honor and prestige.
This reminds me of one story.
A person was walking down the street with his friend when he accidentally stepped in pig dung.
His friend said to him, "You just stepped in pig stool."
To save his prestige and hide his mistake the person replied, "No, I did not; this is not pig dung."
Then to prove that he did not step in dung, the person took off his shoe and held it close to his mouth. Then he licked the brown matter that was on his shoe. He said, "I just tasted it - it is not pig dung."
Seeing this entire scene, all good margiis can easily understand the position of Goenka Dada. We should all help him to overcome his negative approach.
Little does he realise that his position is just like the man walking down the street who licked the pig dung off of his shoe to "prove" that it was not feces.
And most important, everyone should keep the devotional idea alive in their mind and heart that Baba loves and listens to all.
Baba says, "Parama Puruśa is non-discriminating – He makes no distinction between the virtuous and the sinful. It’s only the society which discriminates between the two. Both the virtuous and the sinful are His progeny, so both are equally dear to Him." (Ananda Marga Philosophy in a Nutshell, part 5, Abhedajiṋána and Nirvikalpa Samádhi)
Namaskar,
Ramesh
