Purono jiirn'a pa'ta' jhariye diyecho, nava kishalaye shobha' enecho
Bha'va'jar'ata'r bojha' ha'lka' karecho, jarata'r pa'n'd'ur yabanika' chir'echo
Gola'pii gan'd'e raktima'bha' enecho, gotishiilata'ya druti bhave diyecho
You have come with effulgence and smiled with radiant karun'a [1]. With Your arrival, the old, worn out leaves withered away, and new tender leaves have come with exquisite beauty. [2]
You have removed the heavy burden of dogma; You have torn the pale curtain of staticity. You have brought vibrant crimson glow to the rosy face and given neo-humanism to accelerate the mobility of humanity. [3]
[1] Karun'a: When Parama Purus'a sees the suffering of devotees, He feels pained by their inability to move ahead because of so many problems and difficulties. In such circumstances, Parama Purusa cannot bear to watch His bhaktas go through so much struggle and strife. When devotees are helpless and trying hard to progress but their pathway is completely obstructed and they cannot advance in their sadhana or any sphere of life - overcome by various complexes, bondages, and obstacles - then a feeling of deep, deep empathy develops in the mind of Parama Purusa's. This feeling or mind-set is karun'a bha'va. He feels He must rescue them immediately. And when
He steps in and helps that is His showering of His karun'a. In that way, Parama Purus'a comes and graces. With His immense feeling of karuna', He blesses His devotees and relieves them of their pain and suffering. This special grace is nothing but His divine karuna': Wherein Parama Purus'a graces the devotees and removes their troubles and hindrances so that once again they can move ahead.
[2] First Stanza: When Parama Purusa comes in the life of the devotee then one's entire mind-set changes. With His divine presence and loving smile, one's likings, dislikings, habits, and behaviours dramatically change toward a more positive and subtle flow. Old, worn-out dogmas are removed and sweet, neo-humanistic thoughts and devotional feelings blossom. One's whole personality is transformed.
[3] Second Stanza: When Parama Purusa comes He removes the heavy load of dogma, staticity, negative traditions, and samskaras. He guides and goads human beings in a new direction. Old, outdated, rotten traditions and dogmatic beliefs are tossed away. In this manner, the whole society becomes vibrant and the speed of neo-humanism hastens. This marks the advent of a new era.
Final Note for New Readers: This song is not to be taken literally. This is not a song about the changing of the seaons, i.e. how fall ends and spring arrives. That is not the essence of this song. Rather the references to nature in this Prabhat Samgiita are but a metaphor.
O' Parama Purusa, You have come. Because of Your divine arrival, there is a showering of effulgence. Your radiant smile is like the crimson dawn - very beautiful. By Your august presence, old, worn-out traditions, rituals, and dogmas have disappeared. You have brought the beauty and charm of new life everywhere.
Baba, You have given neo-humanism. In the past we were burdened by dogmatic beliefs, rituals, and bad traditions; but, You have graciously removed all those obstacles. In the past humanity had the wrong priorities in life. By getting Your divine guideline and direction, everyone is now moving ahead towards their Goal. Baba, You have shown the divine path. With Your unending grace You taught various do's and dont', i.e. to grow physically, psychically, and spiritually. It is Your grace; it is Your grace. By this way You have brought shine to the rosy face of humanity. With Your gift of neo-humanism,You have hastened the on-set of the new crimson dawn.
Baba, You have come and You have showered Your karun'a...
Starting from today forward, when introducing new songs, we will post the full song using phonetic spelling. We think that will be the most conducive way for the most readers to get the proper pronunciation.
For instance, take the English words "know" or "knowledge". Without having first memorized the pronunciation, people will pronounce those words as "Ka-now" or "Kay-Now" and "Kay-Now-La-Di-Ge",respectively. Simply sounding out the letters will not produce the desired result. Because in the English language, spelling and pronunciation must be memorized. Otherwise it is not possible to pronounce words properly.
Same is the case with Bengali.
For example, in the first line of the above song #1127, the actual spelling of the third word is esecha but unless one knows Bangla, they will mispronounce it. Hence we have given the phonetic spelling, esecho. By this way even new readers will be able to pronounce the words correctly when listening to and singing the song.
Here is another example. The actual spelling of the last words in the last two lines is
chir'echa and diyecha, but that will not yield the proper pronunciation for non-native speakers; hence, we spelled them as chir'echo and diyecho, respectively. With this phonetic spelling, readers will get the right pronunciation. Indeed there are many such examples.
Only native Bengali speakers - or those extremely fluent in Bangla and familiar with Prabhat Samgiita - will pronounce all the words correctly. Yet everyone wishes to listen to and sing Prabhat Samgiita and enjoy the song. If the lyrics are written in a technical manner then people will not be able to pronounce all the words properly. Hence the decision to write it phonetically.
With regard to the repetition of certain lines when the song is sung, while listening to the song you will just have to be alert and adjust accordingly as all the original lines are present.
