Subject: Understanding Baba's Praise of Others

Baba
"Tumi na' bale esechile, a'j na' bale cale gele..." (P.S. 1327)
Purport:
Baba, without saying anything You came and appeared in my dhya'na, and
now today without telling You just left-- disappeared.
Baba, I was lying in the dust on the path, but You just lifted me up and
put me on Your lap. It is Your grace, O' Parama Purus'a.
Baba, my dwelling was old and tattered-- broken down. And not only that,
I was also without intellect and conscience. Indeed, my condition was so
pitiful that I did not have even one morsel to put into my mouth. But, by
Your grace, You bestowed everything upon me and You taught me all the things.
Baba, I was not understanding the dharma of human life-- what human
beings should do, what are the do's and don'ts-- about all these things I
was not at all aware. To get You I did not do any sadhana. But even then by
Your grace You have taught me sadhana and You have blessed me with
perfection to move ahead on the path.
O' my dearmost Baba, previously in my life I was not even getting the
status of a human being. All the teachings I had been given were full of
dogma. Baba, by Your grace You have poured the sweetness and given me a
voice and lifted me onto Your Divine lap. Baba, You have done everything.
Secretly You came and secretly You left-- even then You have arranged
everything for me. Baba, Your grace is unforgettable...
== UNDERSTANDING BABA'S PRAISE OF OTHERS ==
Namaskar,
We all know that Baba has come and graciously given one supreme ideology
for guiding the humanity-- i.e. the Ananda Marga ideology.
And in delivering His AM philosophy, along the way, in very specific
fashion Baba has appreciated various people from the past and present
history. Yet time to time on different Marga e-mail networks one or another
person interprets Baba's way of appreciation in their own clouded manner.
When in fact the point is crystal clear.
Because all Margiis understand that whenever Baba cites anyone's name in His
discourses then HE is merely recognizing that jiiva's effort in a very
particular & limited way. It is not that Baba is wholeheartedly supporting
everything that individual has done in their life and that therefore we
should follow that person's entire dogmatic philosophy. It is not like that.
Here below are some examples which reflect this whole idea. Please read the
following.
ON POINTS ABOUT MOHAMMED
(1) Throughout AM ideology Baba has step by step exposed all the black
negativity of the Muslim religion. And in numerous discourses He tore down
each and every one of Mohammed's dogmatic teachings. Even then on one
occasion Baba has supported and appreciated Mohammed on one very small,
particular point. That happened in Gorakhpur DMC January 1984-- and also in
His book "Human Society". But of course just because Baba has appreciated
Mohammed in this limited scope, this does not mean that we Ananda Margiis
should honor Mohammed, thinking him to be divine, & follow Mohammed's
negative teachings of Islam. No not like that. Rather we must stand on our
Marga fundamentals and continue to fight against all the exploitative ways
of the dogmatic Muslim religion. Such as Islam's extreme manipulation of women etc.
ON KARL MARX
(2) Similarly Karl Marx introduced one completely hellish philosophy called
Communism and those grotesque teachings buckled the knees of the whole
humanity. Indeed Marxism/Communism has been the cause of innumerable
tortures and chaos. Even then on one or two accounts Baba has appreciated
Karl Marx in a couple of particular ways. But on the grounds of that
extremely limited appreciation it does not mean we should drop AM and fill
our days marching to the tune of Marx's demonic philosophy. Rather we
should carry the svastika flag of Ananda Marg / Prout.
ABOUT SHANKARACARYA
(3) Likewise Shankaracarya introduced the destructive teachings of Mayavada
(illusion theory) and not only that but he created so many problems in the
society and he invented numerous religious dogmas. And the whole negativity
of the caste system also falls on his head. But even then Baba has openly
appreciated a few of Shankaracarya's teachings like bhakti being the best
path. And in our AM this mandate we also follow about the excellence of
devotion. But that does not mean that we Ananda Margiis should begin
adopting all those suffocating teachings of Shankaracarya like Mayavada--
world is fake-- and thus stop doing service to the society. To do that
would be entirely wrong and an injustice to the humanity.
EXAMPLE OF BUDDHA
(4) Similarly Buddha's negative teachings created huge problems all around
the globe. Such as his nihilistic philosophy of dukha-vada and his wrong
definition of ahimsa. Plus because of Buddhism, medical science was tossed
aside for centuries and another point is the Buddhism turned human beings
into cowards. All these scars happened because of Buddhism. But even then
on certain points Baba has appreciated some of Buddha's teachings like the
'Cakuna Samvaro' shloka. And that very shloka Baba has incorporated into
His AM teachings. But on the basis of this limited appreciation it does
not mean that Ananda Margiis should therefore start following all those
blind and negative features of Buddhist philosophy. Rather we must always
raise the banner of AM.
ON MR. CARL SANDBERG
(5) And here is another example: the writer Carl Sandberg. As we know
Sandberg's food habits and daily routine etc were not at all sentient. And
on various points he was confused or living in the dark entirely. Even then
Baba has appreciated him by quoting a few lines from one of his poems. Why?
Because those lines were consistent with the teachings of AM. But that does
not mean we should give up 16 Points and start singing the glories of Carl
Sandberg and follow all his teachings.
RELATED WITH THE VEDAS
(6) Similarly the Veda is full of negative dogma; specifically the Karma
Kanda section of the Vedas is full of useless things and harmful teachings.
It is nearly 100% dogma and Baba has described this in His Prout discourse
'Dogma of the Vedas'. But at the same time many good things are also there
which Baba has collected and given in countless discourses. But it does
mean that we should start reading all the 4 vedas and being following those
things and give up AM philosophy.
ABOUT VEDA VYASA DEO
(7) Likewise Vyasa Deo created all sorts of negative mythologies and all
kinds of tiirthas etc. Because on the one side Vyasa Deo wrote all the 18
puranas / myths which are full of misguided preachings about the glory of
tiirtha. So he is responsible for starting so many of those Hindu dogmas.
But about this same Vyasa Deo, Baba appreciates the writings which he did
about the Mahabharata. Indeed Baba has expressed this appreciation for
Vyasa Deo in Prabhat Samgiita #1307. But that does not mean that we Ananda
Margiis should follow all of Vyasa Deo's misguided teachings and that we
should pass the rest of our days going to one or another of those dogmatic
Hindus tiirthas etc. Instead we must continue to stand on the firm
foundation of AM and wipe out all forms of dogma.
TAGORE'S CASE NO DIFFERENT
(8) And same is the case with Rabindranath Tagore. Because Tagore's
writings contain all sorts of errors and Baba Himself has pointed out the
negativity and the misguided devotional approach of some of Rabindranath's
songs-- Ravindra Samgiita. Hence from top to bottom Rabindranath has
written so many dogmatic things. Yet we all know that on certain particular
aspects Baba has also appreciated Tagore's contributions. But we would be
foolish to think that therefore all of Tagore's writings are pure and that
we should start following them. Or that we should cast Prabhat Samgiita
aside and instead delve into the world of Ravindra Samgiita. This would not
be good. No one should get confused in that way. Rather e should strictly
adhere to Baba's dharmic teachings.
AND MORE EXAMPLES
(9) And like this there are other examples where Baba appreciates a
particular person in a very specified manner when other misguided teachings
and dogmatic guidelines by that same individual created all sorts of
problems for the society.
REMARKS
- We should only follow Baba's dharmic teachings because Baba has selected
and collected all the good points from others' writings and incorporated
them into AM. So we need not go through all those dogmatic writings.
- About those unit beings whom Baba has recognized, Baba does not
appreciate their overall writings. Rather just one tiny, limited aspect of
their writing.
- The sense is that Baba has scooped up all the goods things from amongst
their dogmatic writings and incorporated them into HIS own blemishless
teachings of Ananda Marga.
- We should not think just because Baba has cited & appreciated someone
that therefore we should start following that person's garbage. Because
just see how there is Lenin street in Ananda Nagar, but that does not mean
that therefore we should follow Communism.
- Baba has appreciated certain people on one point or another. In that way we
should understand that on that single particular point their writing is
approved. It does not mean however that we should appreciate all their
negative teachings. In that case we would be chasing after all sorts of
misguided approaches such as Communism, Marxism, Gandhism, Islam etc. So we
should not do like that.
- Likewise to that think everything Rabindranath has given is a jewel, such
an approach is just bankruptcy of the mind. Although some things that
Rabindranath published are good, but at the same time Rabindranath has also
written so many dogmatic things.
- We always have to see both sides of Baba's comments in a balanced way.
Then with our own vivek we will understand that those things which Baba has
selected and given to us are good, and the rest is dogma.
- Drifting away from Guru's guideline and getting stuck up in reading the
junk of anyone's negative and dogmatic philosophy is not at all good,
rather harmful.
- Human life is short; best is to adhere to Baba's own guidelines. In this
way dharma will be established and one human society will be built.
- We are fortunate Baba has given everything; the philosophy of Parama
Purusa perfect. So we need not read other dogmatic writings. Just we should
follow Baba.
THE GREATNESS OF AM
Baba says, "Ananda Marga alone is dharma and all the rest are sectisms."
(SS-1 p. 63)
Baba says, "Absolute knowledge is the direct message from God...The books
in A'nanda Ma'rga philosophy are all absolute knowledge." (PNS-18, p.10)
Namaskar,
Jiivendra
Note 1: On various Marga networks-- from time to time-- some contributors
start speaking great things about Buddha or Marx or Gandhi or Tagore etc.
But the teachings of such aforementioned persons are not fit for Ananda
Margiis-- nor for humanity. What Baba has appreciated from such persons we
should also appreciate by incorporating that into our lives. But beyond
that all our unreserved patience goes toward Baba and no one else.
Note 2: If someone has been given an endless supply of fresh mountain
spring water to drink, then when he is thirsty he should not leave that and
try to quench his thirst by licking the dew off the leaves of the trees.
Doing that is...
Likewise leaving Baba's divine AM philosophy in order to follow
someone else's dogmatic writings is...

To Understand "Yoga Psychology"
Baba says, "According to general belief, psychology is a part of general
science, and should therefore not be included as a part of philosophy. Thus
psychology has been accepted as a branch of science in the West. But in
A'nanda Ma'rga, psychology has been included as a part of philosophy.
Moreover, according to A'nanda Ma'rga the scope of psychology is wider than
what is usually accepted by psychologists. (APH-4, p. 260)
Note: To understand Yoga Psychology means our AM book- "Yoga Psychology".
Generally people think that psychology means some type of dry subject, or
utopian idea, or something that does not have a link with our higher Self.
This dogma got started because the western so-called philosophy of
psychology is dry. It does not have any link with the Supreme Entity. In
true sense their philosophy of psychology is nothing but dry desert sand.
That is why we find with most of the western psychologists that a screw is
loose. Excuse me, but this is the fact. In contrast, Yoga Psychology is
completely different-- it is a high thing. So it is our duty to remove the
confusion in the mind of non-margiis about the subject of "psychology".
