Purport:
Baba, by Your grace, today the new sun of the new dawn is rising up in the sky. With the feeling of fear and shyness, the Cimmerian darkness of the night has disappeared. O' human being, throw away the staticity and dogma of the past, and embrace the effulgence of the new dawn. The divine Entity with the divine effulgence has come to your doorstep-- with new form and color, showering love on all.
O' human being, the creatures of darkness have disappeared. The Parama Purusa who is the nucleus of this universe, that very Entity is the greatest One. Ideating on Him go on doing His service...
== NEWS: HINDU DOGMATIC MOVIE SHOWN & SOLD AT DMS ==
Namaskar,
We know that Baba has come to free society from all dogmas - including religious dogmas.
At the recent DMS in Ananda Nagar, a new Ananda Marga video CD - "Sambhavami Yuge Yuge" - was screened during the RAWA program on 31 Dec 2010.
We should all evaluate for ourselves if this video reflects Baba's teachings, or instead depicts Hindu dogma.
BABA'S TEACHING ABOUT RADHA
Before discussing what exactly transpired in the video - "Sambhavami Yuge Yuge" - let's take a moment to examine a few of Baba's divine teachings.
Here below Baba describes that how those devotees who have one-pointed devotion towards Parama Purusa are known as Radha.
Baba says, "When the jiivabháva [microcosmic bearing] becomes pinnacled and advances towards Parama Puruśa to the complete exclusion of all other thoughts, becomes “I don’t want anything of this world, I want only Parama Puruśa, the Supreme Entity,” it is termed “Rádhá”. This is the expression of the single-minded devotion of the microcosmic mind." (Namami Krsna Sundaram, Disc: 7)
Thus, any top-grade devotee is known as Radha. That means any devotee who has pinnacled devotion for Parama Purusa is Radha. Even if one has a mustache and a beard one is Radha if one is great devotee. That is Baba's expressed teaching.
Here below Baba specifically dispels the Hindu dogmatic notion that Radha is a female.
Baba says, "Krs'n'a is not a male being of Vrindavan, and Ra'dha' is not a lady. You should understand it properly...it is the divine force, and it is the devotional principle, it is devotion." (Ananda Vacanamrtam-23, p.21)
And In His following teaching from Subhasita Samgraha part 22 (Hindi edition), Baba puts forth the same idea: "Remember Radha is not a female. Some people make pictures like this. But one should not do it. Radha is not a female."
"राधा कोई औरत नहीं, याद रखोगे | कुछ लोग तस्वीर बनाते हैं | ऐसा नहीं बनाना
चाहिए | राधा कोई औरत नहीं है |"
भक्ति और मुक्ति,
(Subhasita Samgraha, part 22, discourse 08)
WHAT HAPPENED AT THAT RAWA PROGRAM
At the recent winter DMS in Ananda Nagar (2010-2011), a video was shown at the RAWA program on Dec 31. It was a screening of the video CD, "Sambhavami Yuge Yuge".
One portion of that video centers on the advent of Lord Krsna. And one particular scene shows Lord Krsna during His days in Vrndavana in which He is dancing with the gopis all of whom are depicted as ladies. And in the background one Prabhat Samgiita is being played about how Krsna attracts the gopis with His flute.
So the entire scene on this CD is a mirror image of the Hindu dogma that Krsna was just surrounded by lovely maidens and He was a womanizer and that all the gopis were young ladies. This dogma is being substantiated by the CD video - "Sambhavamii Yuge Yuge" - which was on sale at the DMS.
Needless to say, this CD gives the totally wrong idea and meaning about who is Radha and who is a gopi. In His dharmic stance, Baba says that any devotee who has pinnacled devotion towards Parama Purusa is Radha and any devotee who wishes to please Parama Purusa is a gopi. Even if one has a mustache and a beard one is Radha if one is great devotee.
Baba says, "Ra'dha' is not a lady. You should understand it properly...." (Ananda Vacanamrtam-23, p.21)
Yet this dogmatic CD video is depicting Radha and the gopis as a ladies of Vrndavana. It is a xerox copy of Hindu dogma. Yet it is being propagated and sold at our very own global DMS program.
BABA'S CLARIFICATION
Let's again examine a few more of Baba's teachings on this critical topic.
Here below Baba directly addresses the very fact that many have fallen into the dogmatic Hindu (mis)understanding of who Radha is. Because of this wide-spread confusion that Radha refers to a lady in Vrndavana, in His below teaching Baba is careful to clarify who Radha really is: Any bhakta with one-pointed devotion for Parama Puruss. That means even if a person has a mustache and a beard that person is Radha if they are a great devotee.
Baba says, "Many people are not aware of the real import of the term “Rádhá”. The actual import is this: When the human mind realizes that nothing of this quinquelemental world is permanent, that nothing is absolute or final, that all thoughts and activities are extremely brief and transient, that the only reality is Parama Puruśa, and says, “I will run only after Him, not after anything else,” that very mentality is Rádhá." (Namami Krsna Sundaram, Disc: 7)
And here again, in His next guideline, Baba explains that Radha is any bhakta who yearns to be with Parama Purusa always. So even if one has a mustache and beard one is Radha if one is great devotee.
Here is another way of expressing this same idea.
Baba says, "What is Rádhá bháva? When devotees feel in their heart of hearts that their existence is meaningless without attaining Baba, that they cannot survive a single moment without feeling His blissful presence, they have attained the stage called Rádhá. Such devotees know nothing other than árádhaná [total mental absorption in Baba – the Supreme]." (Namami Krsna Sundaram, Disc: 7)
And in His following teaching from Subhasita Samgraha part 25 (Hindi edition), Baba puts for the same concept: Radha is not a female devotee, any high-grade devotee is called Radha. That means if one has a mustache and beard one is Radha if one is great devotee.
राधा कोई औरत नहीं, और कृष्ण कोई दुनियावी मर्द नहीं | यही है राधा तत्त्व
| यही है कृष्ण तत्त्व |
साधना की आवश्यकता,
(Subhasita Samgraha, part 25, Discourse 04)
By all of Baba's teaching the matter is quite clear that the terms Radha and gopi refer to any ardent sadhaka chasing after Parama Purusa with one-pointed devotion.
Thus it is shameful that the CD video - "Sambhavami Yuge Yuge" - being sold at DMS is caught up in Hindu dogma and depicts the gopis as being ladies. Our Ananda Marga aims to eradicate all dogmas, yet this video CD shown at DMS is reinforcing the age-old Hindu dogma that Krsna was a womanizer and that all the gopis are young maidens.
OUR DUTY AS MARGIIS
Here below Baba outlines what our approach should be: Spiritual realisation in our inner world, and the elimination of dogmas in our outer world.
Baba says,"You who want to be real human beings, must continue your sádhaná in your inner life and strive ceaselessly for God-realization, and with equal effort you must see to it that no irrational, undesirable or detrimental theory is propagated in the external world, which can harmfully influence the human mind. You must be ever-vigilant in this regard. That is why I told you to be vocal against all sorts of injustice. Otherwise your goal will not be achieved." (Neo-Humanism: Liberation of Intellect, Discourse 7)
Keeping Baba's above teaching in mind, we have to critically evaluate what to do with the Sambhavami CD.
The fact is that this CD is propagating the dogma that Krsna is a womanizer and that Radha and the gopis are ladies of Vrndavan. Yet Baba says that Radha is not a lady, but rather any devotee with one-pointed devotion for Parama Purusa. According to Baba, that is who Radha is.
Since our sacred duty is to wipe out dogma, our only recourse is to destroy all copies of the existing Sambhavmi CD. Why? Because those who view it will get that wrong idea lodged in their mind. Plus in the future - hundreds or thousands of years from now - archaeologists will undoubtedly come across this CD and conclude that Ananda Margiis also believed in the dogma of Radha being a lady. Yet that is not at all true.
So this CD is a farce and it should be removed from the shelves, shredded into pieces and put in the recycling / trash bin. That is the only way. People should not think that since they made it they should sell it to earn back the money, nor should one think that since they bought it they should watch it. That is not the right utilisation. Suppose one accidentally purchased poison, then should that person drink it in order to get their money's worth? Absolutely not. Rather one will get rid of that poison.
This Sambhavami CD is a poison - it is a dogma. It should be ground into dust and tossed into one deep chasm, i.e. eliminated.
Once that is done then if one wishes to make a new version of the CD that properly reflects Baba's teachings, that is perfectly acceptable. But the current version of this CD must be destroyed.
BABA'S BLESSING
Baba has come onto this earth to wipe away all dogmas. As His disciples it is our duty not to give an ounce of credence to any dogma. Hence, we strictly refrain from selling this CD - "Sambhavami Yuge Yuge" - until it is fixed and properly reflects Baba's divine teachings. Best is to destroy the entire stock and make the CD according Baba's guideline. Keeping, watching, or selling this CD in its current state is sinful.
Baba says, " Krs'n'a is not a male being of Vrindavan, and Ra'dha' is not a lady. You should understand it properly...it is the divine force, and it is the devotional principle, it is devotion." (Ananda Vacanamrtam, Part 23, p. 21)
Namaskar,
Sudhakar
Note 1: WHO IS GOPI
Here Baba explains who is a gopi, i.e. any bhakta - who wishes to please Parama Purusa.
Baba says, "Where the devotee is worshipping Him for pleasing Him there the devotion is of purely spiritual nature. There does not exist the feeling of duality here. Such a devotee is called gopi. The term connotes one who worships God to please Him (Gopa'yate Yah Sah Gopah)" (Subhasita Samgraha, Part 19)
Thus it is very clear that Radha or Gopi is not a female devotee. The real idea is that any high-grade devotee is called Radha or Gopi. Even if a person has a mustache and a beard that person is Radha if one is great devotee.
I think by now all understand that this CD must be destroyed. Failing that this dogma will linger on and on.
Note 2: SPECIAL CONGREGATIONS WITH TARAKA BRAHMA
FROM A HISTORICAL PERSPECTIVE
Just as Baba only allowed males for special tantric reporting sessions, similarly, during His special gatherings, Krsna only congregated with males. That is why Baba is saying that "Radha is not a female."
Note 3: FURTHER READING ON THIS TOPIC
This below letter examines in greater detail how one Didi misinterpreted certain Prabhat Samgiita songs to be only for females.
